| Winter Pyrates Way almost Sold Out! |

We're down to two 64-magazine boxes of inventory for the Winter issue! OMG. . . we had a rush for Summer. . .so we bought an über-amount for Autumn. . .and although it was an expanded issue, it didn't do as well as we expected so we cut back a bit on the Winter order.
Winter may be the very first issue since the premiere issue that we have to order a second printing!
I really think it's all the PyrateCon stuff that's selling these things so fast. . . . heck the distributor has had them only for six days and already put in an order for a bunch more!
Huzzzah to m'fellow pirates for making us the #1 Selling independent magazine for two of our distributors. . . it's YOU that get the applause, mates.

Join us at PyrateCon 2008 when we give away full free issues of the Spring magazine to every guest and vendor at the convention! It's our way of saying thank you for your support as we continue on into our third year of publication and the only magazine created BY Pyrates FOR Pyrates!
Check out some of the Spring highlights with a full 16-page PyrateCon highlight including maps, itinerary, background information, and a with a "one-on-one" session with Scarlott Harlott, our Grand Marshall of PyrateCon 2008! (no, this has nothing to do with how hot she thought my tattoo was in LA the other weekend. . LOL. . . we're just friends.)
I have to give credit to good friend Clay and Capt. Dave who gave me one killer tattoo with The Pyrates Way logo dead center of the art. . . doesn't get more pyratical than that!
Back to PyrateCon. . . . The Pyrates Way caravan of vehicles leaves Delaware to MD then DC and onward to an overnight in Roanoke, VA. The we're on the road to Nashville for another overnight (and to kidnap the best wench photographer in the world, Craig) then in The Big Easy a day early to help the PyrateCon folks set up. We give back to the pyratin' community in every way possible.
The Pyrates Way will be set up in the main lobby next to the registration booth with our own animatronic robot "Aaaargyle" who has been heard from in the magazine but never seen before! Subscribers get to pull FREE booty from our huge treasure chest which includes prizes like DVDs, Pyrate Toys, Glasses, free subscriptions, and even $100 in cash!
We'll also be sponsoring both the Pyrate and Wench of the YEAR contests with prizes, trophies and the chance for each winner to see themselves on the cover of America's premier pyrate magazine. . . THE PYRATES WAY.
The Pyrates Way is also giving a portion of our ad revenue from the Spring issue to the charities of PyrateCon 2008 and including subscription/back issues packs as auction items AND giving FOUR original acrylic paintings to be auctioned! Each one of these paintings has been or will be the back cover to The Pyrates Way magazine! (including Autumn07, Winter07-08, Spring08, & Summer08 issues). | Autumn's Booty: The Ring Of THE PHANTOM! |

I'm getting phone calls and emails from subscribers all over the planet as everyone seems to really love the Phantom rings that have all been mailed! If you haven't gotten yours yet. . .you will this week as the balance of them were dropped off at the post office at 2:30 pm today!
If you got your ring, please let me know by posting here and if you think it was a good booty choice! The ring is actually a hint as to one of the features in the Autumn issue: The Phantom!. .. the only super hero to avidly go after pyrates as his main nemesis!
Magazines are on their way to us as we speak and subscriptions go out just as soon as we have them. All the postage is bought, the labels attached, and the envelopes ready to mail!
We're just a tad excited as this is our biggest and best issue ever! |

The Autumn issue be at press mates and I should be approving the proofs tomorrow. It takes a few days to print. . . a few more in the bindery. . .then they ship out to the distributor and to us. M'wife and I do all the subscriptions by hand and your booty will be mailed separately this time. . . . because of it's size and bulk.
After all, it bein' our first year of success, we thought we'd share a bit of the booty with ye by giving you a nice piece piece that you can add to yer pyratin' garb and always think of us!
The Autumn issue be EIGHTY-FOUR pages this time. . .that's a full 20 pages bigger than any other issue. . .just to show our appreciation for your kind attendance to our magazine.
All we ask is if one of those advertisers therein be catchin' yer eye. . . please let 'em know you saw 'em in The Pyrates Way! Them thar advertisers is what keeps the magazine price from being raised and the quality of it kept so high!
Be on the lookout for "Savvy" a new (but obviously recognizable) character in this issue's "Grim Lookout" comic, as he appears throughout the margins of the later half of the issue. . . they breed like Tribbles,,, so I'm told.
The Winter issue will be back to the normal 64 pages but we've got great stuff in store for ye. . . as we take a step back in time and look at the pyrate toys we had as kids! Tis a late-holiday tread due out the beginning of January, mates.

On Friday, August 3, 2007 The Piratez Tavern in Silver Spring, MD will be hosting the One Year Anniversary party for The Pyrates Way magazine. From 730-9 will be for staffmembers only but at 9pm the patio will be open for everyone to join in on the party!
The first 100 in the door will get FREE issues of the inaugural Pyrates Way magazine and bring a Sharpee™ because you can have the copy signed by editors, the publisher, wenches of the quarter and even the cover model! You'll also have the chance to purchase the most recent Summer Issue and the opportunity to subscribe!

Aye Mates,
I try not to email you too often about advertising in the Pyrates Way. I usually just send out "feelers" on a monthly basis.
However, something major has changed in our Pyrate community in a big way and we've had to redesign a major article in our Summer issue to compensate.
PyrateCon2008 will be managed by a new group of folks instead of the IPS who attempted to run the conference this year.
The new management has already hired an event coordinator and that of itself is an incredibly positive step toward making the event better, stronger, and more fun.
To support this new group of folks, The Pyrates Way will give a full one-page advertisement to promote the event in every issue of the magazine until the event and then cover said event in our pages.
We're a wonderful community of businessmen, re-enactors, pyrates, and people. If you were a vendor at PyrateCon2007 or will be in 2008, we will give you a 1/4 page advertisement wrapped around our PyrateCon2007 recap for only $200.
We have a limited space as of this time as we were about to go to press, but we'll put the mechanics of it all on hold in order to support the folks who supported each other (and us).

Aye maties, we spent a weekend in New Orleans at PyrateCon2007. . . expect a full write-up in our Summer issue (which is the last issue for ye plank owners, so ye better get over to http://www.pyratesway.com/resub.html so ye don't miss any issues to come!).
We also met over 1,000 fellow privateers in the pyrate haunt of Fells Point in Baltimore, MD last weekend where our Spring issue was a huge success. It contains a full article about how the Fells Point privateers saved our nation's collective butt in both the War of Independence and the War of 1812.
The Winter issue is still our biggest seller, chock full of wenches and information.
Of course, our premiere issue is still available and we plan to offer a special signed, sealed, and numbered version soon. If ye be waiting for a collector's item from ye olde Pyrates Way, it be coming mate, so keep yer slops on.
Thar also be a special ad campaign for the best visual ad in the Summer issue with lots of free ad space as a prize.

Bring your Pyrate garb or don't. . . it'll be summer in the Keys so YOU decide (I'll be in a cut off shirt to show off my cool tattoo). . . . We'll be shooting for our new 2008 Wenches Calendar and YOU could be part of it! Want to be a wench in the calendar? Want to be a guy with a boner holding a reflective light source just inches from a beautiful half-naked model?

The Spring Issue's proofs have just been approved and is continuing into production. We're still set to have copies for sale at PyrateCon2007 and subscriber's issues will go into the mail upon our return at the end of April.

Please note and pass the word to those concerned, that the magazine is sent via Media Mail and therefore takes anywhere from 2-9 business days to arrive. I've gotten a few emails from folks who think they've been lost in the subscription shuffle but please fear not. . . the magazines WILL arrive! (case in point: my dad got his in Alabama a week before my son got his in Bel Aire, MD. . . his sister, also in Bel Aire, hasn't gotten hers yet. . . . but all three were sent at the same time!)

| Winter Pyrates Way magazine available soon |

Sorry for the holdup folks, but we've been waiting for the allotment amounts from our new distributor. On February 28, The Pyrates Way Winter 06-07 goes to press! Which means that you'll get your copy of that issue right on the birthday of The Black Fox (a.k.a., ME, der publisher).
The Ides of March is when it'll start arriving at your door (unless there are any other hangups) and you'll notice 100% improvement in the magazine over the first issue.
Now get out there and spread the word and have folks get their subscription orders in ASAP so that they can get the booty with the issue (only subscribers will get the free booty).
We're expecting the magazine in all the bookstores (via said distributor) by March 20 (i.e. the day before Spring!. . . so it'll STILL be Winter. . .uh. . . technically). |

The Winter issue is moving along famously. I'll be getting all the articles out to the various editors/proofers today and get into correcting what's been edited already.
We're all laid out and there's quite a few spots awaiting their advertisers to send in their ads, but since the deadline is a few days off yet, everyone (like me) is waiting till the last second to spend that $.
Work work work. . . and enjoying a cup of hot coffee for the first time in a few days (tastebuds came back on line last 'eve). |

After December 30th, Subscriptions will no longer include our premiere issue nor the Plank Owner's ID Card and Certificate! Of course the new subscriptions at the first of the Year will get the same booty as all subscribers do, (there's free stuff with every issue for subscribers), but the Plank Owner's stuff will no longer be available.

1) December 31 is the cut off for subscriptions which include the "plank owner" certificates and I.D. cards for the magazine. . . at that point they ALL go into the fire pit. There will be NO MORE of them!
2) December 20th is the cut off for the special ad price for the winter issue which will be the first issue to hit barnes and nobel, borders, etc. . . the magazine for that issue will be 32 pages more without a change in cover price. . but will be the last to have the original cover price! (GO FOR IT. . . get your AD in now!)
3) There are so many new and improved items in The Pyrates Way, we can't list them all! Editorial, Art, Photography, Fiction, Comics, Crossword, Ads, Classifieds, Opinions, History, Information, Education, Stories, and even a special "find all the "FSM" prizes of three vials of REAL gold to the top three subscribers who can spot all the FSM background images in this issue! Don't know what FSM'ism is? Then subscribe NOW!
So there you go m'mates. . . all that and more POTC info to boot. . . .the folks who buy our second, expanded-yet-at-the-same-price issue are in for a HUGE treat!. . .and all you subscribers will get some MORE free booty in the next issue!

Who says we can't get into Borders and Barnes & Nobles? I just signed the ppwk and Ingram Periodicals will be distributing our own Pyrates Way to thousands of bookstores nationwide starting with our Winter issue!
How GREAT is that?
All I did was send them a copy of the first issue and they LOVED it! Thanx to everyone for helping us achieve this kind of initial success!
