I submitted an inquiry to livejournal asking how to completely disable anonymous comments. I don't like the idea of banned members being able to sleaze around in the shadows and not identify themselves.
I know a certain person has been doing so, and it's not cool as far as I'm concerned. I hope this doesn't inconvenience anybody when they're away from their own computer and can't log in for some reason, but it can't be helped.
At one time, purg_chic had the anonymous option disabled, but I couldn't figure it out when I went to FAQ's.
I don't want to make it members only to comment, and the membership has always been open.
This is only to make it more safe, as much as possible.


EDIT: comment settings are now set to friends only, which means only logged in members will be able to comment. No more anonymous comments will be able to be posted.

why wouldnt you just make it members only to comment? I mean, if it's open membership then they'd just need to join to comment?

I'm willing to consider that, a lot of communities do that..... I don't want to get heavy handed, but I despise that fucshia character enough to make it impossible for her to post. Ever. Even if she created a new account she would eventually go psycho again and give herself dead away.

People should really start getting into the habit of making their posts "friends only" anyhow. So, if everyone did that, the only people who could READ them would be members anyway.

I think it'd be the best thing to do.

At the bottom of the page after you write an entry, there's a few difft. Options. One of the ones says 'public' or something like that (I literally just woke up and am typing this on my phone, bear w me). Change that to friends only.
You need to do this for every post you make.

I think it's a good idea to disable them. Good luck figuring out how. That comment on elukes post as I mentioned already is really fishy to me.

Sooo we have a growing problem?

They are tip requesting in one, and the other.. idfk.

Look at them, if you want..
Both accounts were created within the past month, the one "its_coming_up" was created yesterday.

I hate trolls, so I'm just letting you know.
