Bored at the moment. Memes are always mindless fun in this circumstance ;)

Put your iPod (or music player) on shuffle and put the song that comes up as your answer.
On to the madness )

Geez, you'd think that Helloween was the only band that I listen to from this O_O
21st-Jul-2008 05:29 am - jam, wii, and mie
just now was weird.

i actually went jamming! hah! i've not gone jamming or even touched any electric musical instruments for dunno how many years already. since poly ah. so anyway played some stupid covers and boy do i suck. actually we all suck. hahahahha. but it was all in the name of fun. it was a funny jamming session.

so my plan was basically to jam, maybe hang out a while then go back early. told my parents i wasn;t gonna go home late anyway. then they were going to one of their houses so i was like umm ok sure whatever. it was a very nice house too. played wii. played some soccer game which i sucked terribly in, wii sports (which i have - but it was more fun with many people), and i forgot what the name of this game was but it had this game to throw darts and one weird ass game where we had to go what the game told us to do. kena buat cepat2 using the wii remote so it was pretty funny.

and then wanted to go back already. but dunno how the hell ended up going back at 5am sitting under my void deck talking to azmi.

who, by the way is having his birthday today! yay! so happy birthday azmi! i'm sorry to have bored you with whatever crap i was talking just now. lol. abeh ujan so aku felt bad giler. but biler nak balek aleh2 ujan dah stop so ok cool. had a really cool conversation for hours about life and everything serious. haha. not the typical bual kosong. a lot of mindfucking questions. seriously lah. talked about things from energy, to ambitions, to religion, to the mind, etc. didn't even realise it was getting so late sia. but was great ah. i enjoyed it anyway.

butttt the real celebration will be this saturday! yeah!! it's gonna be awesome. i hope. haha.

so yeah! happy birthday my dear friend Azmi! you rock yeah! :D
20th-Jul-2008 03:38 pm - Mamma Mia! [abba, colin firth, mamma mia]
I LOVED Mamma Mia! Meryl Streep is a goddess. Colin Freakin' Firth sings ABBA! And takes his shirt off!

And Pierce Brosnan singing ... I had no idea the man can sing so well! And that he would do funky things to my loins while singing something as heartfelt and powerful as "SOS". I mean, he's always been attractive and hot, and I'm old enough to remember when "Remington Steele" was new. But when he sings - oh my!

By taking the story to the big screen, the producers were able to be much more expansive with sets and musical numbers, but they certainly kept the heart of the story. This is a perfect summer movie.

And I really want to return to Greece now.

I will have a polite e-mail to send whoever works on the Empire Theatre website, because I didn't mean to order 4 tickets online, and I have some constructive criticism for them. But I will also have words of praise for the customer service rep at the theatre who fixed my boo-boo and saved me $37.

Some spoilerish stuff )

Sigh. I think I'm not focused on the story at all. (All I see are screencap opportunities). =OP

This rain scene kinda reminded me that he is the 「雨男」...or is it...雨野真実? Hehe.

20th-Jul-2008 08:44 pm - Persephone: (why the winters seem to be getting longer) [art, poetry, scripture]

Six pomegranate seeds, as red as rubies, lay on a golden plate.
They glow with crimson fire in the candlelight.
My lord bids me eat. I can feel his hands upon my shoulders.
I can feel his breath hot upon my neck. I eat the first fruit, and as I taste, my lord tastes the skin of my throat, where the scent of flowers still lingers.

In the world above, the daylight fades.
The wind blows cold among the trees.

The second seed is eaten, and my lord kneels at my feet.
His hands reach for my breasts, and through the fabric of my gown I feel his caress, first soft, then hard.
I watch my nipples rise then strain against the thin gold silk.
He takes a small knife away from the table and, holding it delicately, cuts through the neckline of my dress.
The fabric tears, parting from white flesh, and falls away.

In the world above, as night draws close, the grasses turn in the wind.
Flowers bend. Petals fall.

My nipples are the color of crimson seeds.
The third seed is upon my lips as my lord suckles at my breasts, tracing circles of fire with his tongue.
They ripen like fruit beneath his kisses.

The world above is dark.
The trees are black and bare.
Creatures shiver, and shelter where they may.

My lord explores my body, kissing, biting, tasting the length of me.
I need to see him.
He will not undress.
He will not let me touch him.
I know that he is beautiful; I can feel that beauty as my body lifts to press itself against him.
Naked now, my thighs tremble and open.
The fourth seed is eaten.

In the world above, frost traces white patterns on brown leaves.
The last of the summer fruit returns to the soil beneath the sleeping trees.

I catch my breath as my dark lord parts my thighs.
His fingers touch me, there, gliding on the juices of my passion.
His tongue, questing, thirsts for me, tasting me even as I taste the fifth seed upon my tongue.

The world above lies dormant, frozen.
A creature caught by the cold, harsh air curls and sleeps, stiffens and dies.

He looks into my eyes, my lord, and slowly unlaces the robe he wears to taunt and tempt me.
It falls to the ground. He stands before me, proud manhood beautiful.
I long to take him in my mouth, to close my lips around that hot, strong flesh, taste the milky jewel glistening at its tip.
He smiles as he puts instead the sixth seed to my lips.
He gathers me to him; I twine my legs around his waist and open to his manhood.
It thrusts deeper and deeper, taking me further into my dark lord's dark realm.
The last seed bursts cool upon my tongue as my lord's seed bursts hot within my body.

The world above lies still as death, waiting for the spring to come.
Hollow promise.
Who can know how hard that promise is to keep?

I have always loved the taste of pomegranates.

20th-Jul-2008 11:10 am - non-spoilery Batman post
Saw The Dark Knight last night.

...

I feel like I don't really have the words to adequately express how I felt about this movie. To say that it was awesome is not sufficient. To say that it was disturbing is not sufficient. This movie, for me, went past the typical comic-book action-hero movie to something beyond that, something untouchable and eerie and truly unsettling.

I realize now that there was a taste of that in Batman Begins and that that's why I loved it so. There was something smarter (and not just Lucius Fox), something richer (and not just Bruce Wayne), something more painful, something more at stake. With the second movie, all bets are off. When you see it, you'll know why.

I'll say it: Heath Ledger was a fucking genius. I saw him in his early comedies and thought he was adorable and witty and clever. I didn't see Brokeback Mountain, for which he was nominated for an Oscar in 2006. A lot of people were skeptical about his portrayal of the Joker in this movie; I didn't have my doubts because I wasn't really attached to the Joker as a character. But he was a fucking genius actor and I'm sad that we won't see more of his work. His portrayal of the Joker was pretty much transcendent. I don't know what else to say about that.

An interesting thing: Usually at the end of such a bad-ass, awesome movie everyone bursts into at least a small amount of applause at the end. There wasn't one person clapping. Not one. And it was not because the movie sucked. I was completely shell-shocked when I left the full theatre. Now, I realize that films affect me more than the average bear; I am Hollywood's target audience because I become utterly wrapped up in movies even if they suck. I cry at previews. But here's the kicker: Matt was shell-shocked, and that takes a lot, cynic that he is. We kept just being silent and then saying, "Whoa," or "Holy shit," or "Oh my god."

Recommendation the first: If you haven't seen Batman Begins, I'm of the opinion that you need to do so before viewing this movie.

Recommendation the second: If you're up for a trek and want to avoid the parking nightmare that is downtown Seattle, check it out at the brand new AMC 16 at Southcenter, which just opened yesterday. Very comfy stadium seating, huge screen, great sound. I'm not a tech buff when it comes to film, but I think the experience was much more intense than if we'd seen it at the older Oak Tree theatres near our apartment (which we almost did, but for the power being out in parts of North Seattle yesterday).

Quand tu l'as tu l'as...
Ella, elle l'a
Ce je ne sais quoi
Que d'autres n'ont pas
Qui nous met dans un drole d'etat

20th-Jul-2008 02:09 am - The Dark Knight: Raves, No Spoilers [movies]
I must say, Heath Ledger's death seems so much more significant now after seeing The Dark Knight. Not that I'm undermining his death as being irrelevant, it's just that his old movies never really showcased how much of a talented actor he is until now.

You might have guessed by now -- I loved the movie. The fact that Christian Bale is in it, big Christian Bale fangirl I am, has nothing to do with it either. I was just really blown away by Heath Ledger. I was so sure he was going to be bad in it.

I might want to see it again. If only so I can ogle the Balester. I was too distracted with Heath Ledger's performance that I didn't get to give him the ogling he deserves. I mean, let's be serious:

Decided to take pictures of some of the stuff I got for the past few months.

This is the Swiss Guard figurine Aminah got for me when she came from Italy/Vatican.

Even though its wearing the wrong headgear...it's still super adorable. =OP Thanks (again) Aminah!

This is the vase and ceramic bead from Anneliese's sister's handicraft tent.

This is from Michelle when she terrorised the good people of Netherlands with her street-biking skills.

Was lazy to go out shooting so I shot from my window. HAA =OP

(By the way, this is the sun, not the moon).

What I see when I wake up in the morning (yes I took this lying down on my bed):

And the sunrise this morning was gorgeous.

Phil's family is visiting. It's awesome! We went to Laurel Caverns today, then to the winery. I drank way too much of an ultra-sweet wine (White Swan Tavern, "A semi-sweet white wine, delicate, yet rich with complex fruit undertones of the summer's bounty") because nobody else liked it, plus a margarita, and am highly buzzed. Having a good weekend. Et toi?
