Ok, here's the deal. I want to make my boyfriend a hat for his birthday, but he's requested that it have earflaps on it. I'm pretty new to knitting, so there are two problems. First, i don't know what would be required to do something like this. And second, i don't have a pattern or anything to base it off of. If someone could help, i would be forever grateful.

Okay! So I'm knitting a scarf and it's all knit right now, but I really wanted it to be in stockinette, but I didn't do that because it would roll up and all that. Then I was thinking about knitting it lenghtwise in pieces and then sewing it all together. I'm pretty sure it will still curl up, but does anyone know how? I was thinking it would curl at the ends instead of the sides. Am I right? Also, if I were to knit something on top of the finished product (which is why I wanted it to be in stockinette, so this was easier), would the added weight perhaps keep it from curling up so bad? Thanks!
