Summary: When the call came, it hit John like a sucker punch from the blue. "John," the voice on the other end of the line said when he answered. "This is Denny Duquette. Your brother’s dead. He had a heart transplant, and it didn’t take. His body’s at Seattle Grace Hospital in Washington. I want you to go pick it up, sign for it, and send it home for burial. You don’t need to come with it. In fact, I’d prefer it if you didn’t." And then Duquette hung up, the silence between them sounding like more than twenty years of lost opportunities that weren’t so much lost as simply given away to darkness.

| Magneto (X-Men comicverse), prompt #2 - Daddy Issues |
[Sep. 12th, 2006|10:08 pm] |
Hi, I couldn't resist this community (although I should have, probably :-)). I was a psych grad student, and I haven't written nearly enough Magneto lately, so I took him (the comicverse version only -- any X-Men movieverse writers can feel free to claim him if no one has already).
My thanks to this challenge for helping me break a writer's block on my story Five Things That Never Happened To Erik Lehnsherr. I couldn't think of a fifth until I started trying to come up with ideas for these prompts. So the fic below links to the fifth segment of a "Five Things" AU.
Of course "Daddy Issues" is traditionally jargon for problems people have with their fathers, but since Magneto's father has been dead a long time, whereas his kids are still alive and problematic, I find that interpreting it as "issues of being a daddy" is more interesting in his case.
Fandom: X-Men (comicverse) Title: Five Things That Never Happened To Erik Lehnsherr, Part 5 Characters: Erik Lehnsherr (Magneto), adorably cute Wanda and Pietro, adoptive parents Django and Marya Maximoff Rating: PG Prompt: #2 Daddy Issues Word Count: 2,521 Spoilers: None, exactly, but knowing the bizarro history of Pietro and Wanda's infancy does help. Warnings: Cute kids. Disclaimer: If Marvel Comics had belonged to me, I assure you I could never have come up with anything as cracktastic as Wanda and Pietro's *three* sets of parents, only two of whom appear here.

They're owned by CBS. A/N: This is a spin off of my CSI:Miami AU series "Miami Sun." Originally I was going to used the prompts to write the story, but that wasn't panning out, so I just decided to write them as they came to me.
