prosechallenge!
This is a community for those of you that enjoy writing short stories - both fictional and otherwise.
Every week a challenge will be posted. This challenge could be anything - we might give you a title, an opening sentance, a picture or anything else, and it will be up to you to write a story of up to 5000 words that relates. You are not obliged to enter every challenge, it's up to you to pick which ones interest you. The challenges are aimed at those who prefer using original characters, but if you would like to write fanfiction then this is fine - as long as it relates to the challenge of course!
I want this to be an active community where writers are able to get to know each other. There will be plenty of room for discussion about writing, books, and all related topics, and I very much encourage you to leave constructive feedback on every piece you read. We also host collaborative writing challenges, and encourage you to take part in other activities, such as 'roleplay style' scening.
There will be a vote at the end of each challenge so that users may pick which story was their favourite. As the community gets more active, I will be looking to pick some judges who will help pick their top choices, alongside a regular vote.
At the moment, community acceptance is moderated. You are extremely unlikely to be turned down, so don't be afraid to click the join button. All entries are friends only in order to protect our writers.
