Pros Hall of Fame & Why You Should Vote

A reminder that email votes for the Pros Hall of Fame (and Starsky & Hutch and The Sentinel, too) are due TODAY, Tuesday, September 11th. IF you are lucky enough to be attending ZCon, then you have until noon on Saturday to turn in your ballot.
You do NOT have to attend ZCon to vote. The Hall of Fame ballot is here:
http://www.zebracon.net/huggy_awards.ht m
Now here's why I think everyone reading the community should make sure that they vote for the Pros Hall of Fame - even though I'm not generally enthused about fannish awards.
The Huggy Awards Hall of Fame offers a chance for us to celebrate those whose fannish endeavors have not only enriched Pros fandom, in many cases they are the reason that Pros fandom, in its current form, even EXISTS.
Fan writers, artists, zine publishers, and vidders are often the most visible faces in fandom, and their work is justly valued. Also important, however, in creating a healthy and vibrant fandom are those whose efforts often go unremarked and are taken for granted: archivists; transcriptionists; screencappers; story indexers; reccers; con organizers and volunteers; those who create and moderate mailing lists, LJ communities, and newsletters; who made episodes available; provide sound bites; provide scans and actor-related materials; and promote discussion, criticism, and healthy debate.
All these have been amply - and ably - represented throughout Pros' 30 year history, and I'm delighted to see the Pros Hall of Fame nominations recognize that. The Pros Hall of Fame ballot lists a diverse group, all of whom have left their mark on Pros fandom, from the oldest of the old guard to relative newcomers.
There were inevitable omissions, of course, and I echo the hope of ZCon's con com that another con or group will continue the tradition in the future and add to the Hall of Fame on a regular basis. As fantastic a selection as the ballot offers, it barely scratches the surface of Pros fandom riches.
So take just a moment and recognize those fellow fen who have helped create our fannish treasure trove, sustained Pros fandom for 30 years, and made Pros the engaging fandom that it is today. They truly deserve the recognition - and it's easy! *
Just visits the ballot webpage (http://www.zebracon.net/huggy_awards.h tm), make your selections, and email in your choices to Zcon TODAY, Tuesday, September 11th.
*OK, truthfulness compels me to admit that while the voting process itself is easy - honest! - the actual selection may prove difficult. Trying to whittle down my nominating list to 15 was extremely difficult, though I consoled myself with the knowledge that some I left off my list would undoubtedly be included by others. And then narrowing down my nominating list to 10 actual votes - oh, that was even more painful. But it was well worth the anguish. *g*
Now, shoo, go and vote!

Apologies for the extremely short lead time (RL upheaval) but I just had to go ahead and throw this Vid Challenge for Pros Pearl 30th Anniversary Valentine’s Day or later!! out here...because in my opinion any day with new Pros content in it becomes a special day!
If this is not posted right let me know and I will delete it.
Crossposting to Pros_Vid LJ to hopefully connect with every Pros Vidder.

Hey all you crazy fans out there! My beloved brainie
voressima finally put her Pros icons up on her web page. They are for free but please obey the rules:
1. Credit those you take in your LJ
2. Do NOT claim they're made by you
3. No hot linking
Would also be nice if you left a comment on the web page to let her know that you appreciate the effort and kindness ;) You can of course also comment here if you like.
Of course I already picked my favs, hehe. Yup, that one *points upwards* can also be found there. I just love what
voressima did with his eyes.
Okok, so here is the link:
http://dina.straechav.com
I'll cross post this in
ci5hq so as not to miss any fans which might not be on my f-list (yet). With permission from
voressima of course.
Have fun!

Another effort. Our three heroes, one pic from each episode (two from two eps), from the first season of The Professionals. My box set is Region 4 and it included Klansmen and Rogue.
