Just happy the show is back.

I figured this was relevant enough for the comm. I didn't see it mentioned in the last 20 or so posts.

As a part of the new Marvel comic Models Inc., Tim Gunn will don Tony Stark's Iron Man suit. For great justice! "Similar to his role on Project Runway, Tim will act as the "wise one," helping to solve the crime of a young set designer murdered during New York Fashion Week — all while wearing an Iron Man suit!"

I can't wait for his critique of the construction. "That's a lot of look. I'm worried for you, Tony. Make it work!"

The date confirmed
"Lifetime Television sews up the summer with the highly anticipated Emmy®-nominated and Peabody® Award-winning hit series Project Runway, premiering on Thursday, August 20, at 10PM ET/PT. Produced by The Weinstein Company and Bunim-Murray Productions, host Heidi Klum, mentor Tim Gunn and judges Michael Kors (leading fashion designer) and Nina Garcia (Fashion Director of Marie Claire Magazine), will guide sixteen new contestants as they show off their design skills to see who makes the cut for Fashion Week. Filmed in Los Angeles and New York, Project Runway also features influential guest judges from the worlds of fashion, music, film and television."

"Models of the Runway, an exciting new companion series, will air at 11:00PM ET/PT, beginning August 20, immediately following Project Runway. Each 30-minute episode will give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the reality competition – from the models’ perspective. Viewers can experience the drama, anxiety, joys, tears and frustrations as the models themselves face elimination each week and compete for a cash prize and photo spread in Marie Claire magazine. ...with her cat (among other weird things)!!! hahaha!

"Talk about a big Mac attack.

Project Runway season 5 finalist Kenley Collins was arrested in Brooklyn Tuesday after allegedly attacking a male with a laptop.

According to the New York Police Department, Collins, 26, remembered by Runway fans for her brash manner and 1940s style, was charged with two counts of assault, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment after potentially striking a male in the head and face with a computer.

According to earlier reports from TMZ.com, the reality star allegedly attacked her sleeping ex-fiancé with her pet cat, water, several apples and the laptop. The Web site also reports that Collins is currently being held in jail.

Calls to Brooklyn county clerk's office were not immediately returned, and attempts by PEOPLE to identify Collins's attorney were not successful."

Unfortunately, with PR being off the air indefinitely, I've had to watch lesser shows. Imagine my surprise when Heather, Santino's main model from Season 2, walks into the reunion for "Tool Academy" and announces she's pregnant by Sean, the biggest jerk on the show. If you can find the episode and enjoy that sort of trashy thing, the situation surrounding the pregnancy is kind of hilarious... while still kind of sad.

Under the cut is proof of her on the show. For being 3 months pregnant, she still looks great.

I know it's not the most exciting PR news, but it's too much trashy fun not to share. =)

Is anyone planning to watch Nina's new show Running in Heels? It premieres tomorrow on Style network @ 8pm est.

Here's a link from Tv sqad.com that explains the show a but more.
Heels follows the staff at women's magazine Marie Claire, which Garcia joined a short while ago after leaving her long-time position at Elle magazine.

Garcia's split from Elle was allegedly not on the best terms, so it's probably extra sweet for her that Running in Heels is a direct competitor to CW's Stylista; a reality competition show taking place at, you guessed it -- Elle magazine.

While the shows may be in a similar vein, the formats are quite different. Stylista features Elle staffers competing for a job as Assistant to Editor Anne Slowey, while Heels showcases the work/life dynamic of its staffers. It focuses on 15 Marie Claire employees, with two being highlighted each week. Although sources within the show won't confirm, Garcia is likely to star.

For those of you who don't get the Style network, it looks like Fancast will air them online.

RuPaul's own take on Project Runway premeired on the Logo network last night. The show entitled "RuPaul's Drag Race" explores what it takes to be a drag star today.

"Join RuPaul, the world's most famous drag queen, as the host, mentor and judge for "RuPaul's Drag Race", Logo's new reality series which will be the ultimate in drag queen competitions. The top 9 drag queens in the U.S. will vie for drag stardom as RuPaul, in full glamazon drag, will reign supreme in all judging and eliminations, while the debonair Mr. RuPaul will help guide the contestants as they prepare for each challenge."

Why do I bring this up?

Santino Rice is a judge!

According to this story at Newsday, the designers who show at fashion week won't be introduced:

The "Runway" season finale will tape Feb. 20 among the Bryant Park couture-ati, with one major change from past tapings, intended to conceal finalists' identities - not even audience members will know whose collections they're seeing paraded down the runway. The designers won't be introduced.

"The producers made that decision because we want to keep the finalists a secret for fans," said Emily Feingold, a spokeswoman for the Weinstein Co.

On the one hand, that's gotta suck for the contestants. No one will know who they are! They won't get the kind of press that the designers usually get. On the other hand, it'll be good for the fans who are trying not to get spoiled. . .

What do you think?

how fun... today i got to meet jack from PR season 4!!!! he came to my company to speak about the HIV/AIDS outreach he was doing, and could not have been nicer. i'm now an even bigger fan than i was before! i introduced myself to him after his talk and we spoke for a bit about his leaving the show because of that MRSA infection... of course it was totally necessary for him to get medical attention, and save the other contestants from getting infected, but what a bummer.

so, just had to share. he's a very funny speaker and GORGEOUS in person (those swimmer's shoulders, whoa), and a complete doll. whee!

They've posted the schedule for fashion week. Project Runway is scheduled to show on Friday, February 20th at 9 AM.

Obviously, they haven't aired the episodes leading to this. We actually have no idea if we'll ever see this next season. Supposedly, there aren't going to be any decoys this year -- all the Project Runway designers who show at fashion week have a chance of winning.

I'm so torn. I can't decide whether I'm going to try to find pictures of the designer's collections and look at them before the season officially airs, or if I'm going to stick my head in the ground and ignore all of fashion week. Which just seems wrong to me, as since S1 of Project Runway I've had such fun looking at all the collections!

So -- what are you going to do? I made a poll asking just this.

Just joined this comm. I am pretty excited that I found it.
I hope there will be more seasons of this show because I LOVE it.

Just a question I need to post now.
I love Kenley's style (albeit her attitude makes me shudder a bit)
Is there a specific name for the type of feathered hair pins that
she wears. They have a very vintagey burlesque feel that I ADORE.

Thanks for anyone who can answer this for me :)

I was just looking on the Bravo Project Runway site and I noticed it says, "The final six contestants show at Bryant Park..." I was wondering if anyone had any idea why they send 6 people and only judge 3 of them. Do they give each of the 6 the $8000 budget?
I don't usually go on the Bravo page, today was only my 2nd time, 1st this season, and I never knew they did that. Have they always done that and I am just completely out of the loop or is this a first?
