Hi... *shy wave*

  • Mar. 4th, 2009 at 8:32 PM
I've been working on my book for oh, 8 years now. I recently finished my rough draft in December and have been trying to plod my way through editing so I can start submitting it to all the right people.

The operative word being "trying." The mere thought makes me annoyed. It's 260-ish pages long on 8.5 x 11" paper. I thought my problem was I was "too close" to the project and needed a break. Well, a month later and I am in need of a kick in the buttocks. ._. It's there, it's ready, it needs to be done, and yet, I have every excuse in the world to do a million other things first.

Help...?

(I've never really participated in writing groups before so, forgive my shyness)

For those in my time zone

Hi Forthrightly,

I'm going to see about starting up an IM chat thing like you did with this group during NaNoWriMo. I need to get with people closer to my time zone. Just wanted to let you know. You have a great thing going. ^_^

If you haven't seen the yTimer, here it is:

yTimer

It'll come in handy for pushing yourself, and for NaNoWriMo. The new yWriter5 recently came out. You may want to download that as well. ^_^

Need help

  • Dec. 24th, 2008 at 8:13 PM
Hello all!
New to the community and hoping everyone is enjoying the holidays! =)
I've been working on a piece but have run into some problems with the CeltX program I've been using. It no longer allows me to format in typset or to see a print preview (I like to check on my page count and save in PDF...just incase 'the worst' happens I've been emailing copies to myself with each update.)
Does anyone here use CeltX and have they run into the same problems I'm having right now? Is there a better program to use?
Thanks in advance and again, Happy Holidays!

How'd everyone do?

I didn't do NaNoWriMo this year -- too busy with editing work -- but I know a lot of writers at WEbook.com who did.  I'm writing a guide to revising a quickly-written novel to help them out.  Two installments so far, with more to come:
