Battle Experiment Program N: "Nexus Battle Royale."
OOC community for
program68 - If you're playing, please join both comms, and comment to to be included in the official game roster.
1) No godmoding. Godmoding is defined as assuming or writing another character's actions or reactions, and not giving the mun of that character a chance to write their own outcomes. This will not be tolerated. If complaint is recieved about a post with regard to this rule being broken and the mods find the complaints warranted, one of two actions will be taken: If the first offense, the violator will be given a warning and asked to re-write their post. If it is the second offence, the offender will be removed from the communities and their character(s) will be immediately eliminated from the game. Messily.
2) All characters are reduced to human levels of strength/ability for the duration of the contest.
The one exception is for participants who are visibly different from human. These differences will lend only the most obvious physically-based abilities. I.e gills would still let one breathe underwater, prehensile tails would still be as mobile, and robot arms will be made of whatever metal they are made of, and will be as durable as that metal. Especially relevant for robots and cyborgs, weapons that fire physical projectiles -- knives, bullets, grappling hooks, etc -- will still function. The robot or limb would not, however, have any strength greater than human, the ability to sense anything that a human could not, or any sort of energy weapons.
Individual strength levels within the "human" range should be reasonable -- a good rule of thumb is to look at the physical build of your character, and extrapolate from that what their capabilities would be. Someone with a fairly average frame would thus be of fairly average strength, while someone more muscular would be stronger.
There is no way around this field. As long as you are on the island, you are without any powers. Escaping the island will mean escaping the field.
If complaint is recieved about a post with regard to this rule being broken and the mods find the complaints warranted, one of two actions will be taken: If the first offense, the violator will be given a warning and asked to re-write their post. 3) Don't be an asshat OOC. If you're an asshat OOC... well, unless you're overtly abusive, there won't be anything we can officially do. But you'll look like an asshat in front of the whole comm.
4) If you are overtly abusive, trollish, or exhibiting other inappropriate behaviors, though, we can and will do something about it. Namely, for the first offense you will be given a warning, and for the second offence, you will be removed from the communities and your character(s) will be immediately eliminated from the game. Messily and as humiliatingly as possible.
5) We are aware that sexual situations may occur, given the themes of the original novel/movie/manga. However, we must ask that all sex scenes either stay at a rating of R or below, or 'fade to black' when they start to climb above that level. Sexially explicit terms and details about anatomy, positioning, etc. are not permitted. (Though muns are, of course, free to play such scenes out off-comm.)
6) Each new post on the IC community must be accompanied by a post on the OOC community, linking to and giving a brief summary of the IC post. This is for easy reference, and to provide, if wished, a convenient avenue for OOC communication and organisation.
7) Each character, to stay in the game, must post at least one comment per day. If a character is inactive for longer than 24 hours, they will be assumed to have been either caught in a dead zone or to have lost whatever altercation they were involved in at the time of the thread drop. There will be no warnings. You are asked to keep track of your own activity levels.
8) If you're unsure about any details of the environment, please, please, please ask a mod or post to the OOC comm.
