The Da Vinci Code

At the University of Amsterdam (The Netherlands) Dr. Stijn Reijnders is doing research after The Da Vinci Code. We need interviews with people who have read the book and/or seen the movie and after that visited a location from the story of the Da Vinci Code. So if you've seen and expierenced these locations yourself, I would really like to ask you some questions about it on the phone. If that's okay by you, you can contact me on Marleen.Klaassen@student.uva.nl. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them. When you send me your phonenumber. We'll make an apointment for me to call you. The interview would just take about 10 or 15 minutes. I'd be extremely thankfull for your participation.

Kind regards,

Marleen

My Last Tarot Card for a While

Well, this is the last one for probably 2 - 3 mo. I'll be taking a break while submissions are being made. As I said, it's one of my heroines - Joan of Arc. There are some who have linked Joan with the bloodline... (Joan of Arc - Arcadia?)

I thought this one was going to be a breeze. No robes or dresses with their tons of folds. What I didn't count on was how tedious the armour would be. And how it blended right into the sky, forcing me to creatively place clouds in such a way that they contrasted with the glints and shadows in the armour. Wow, I need a break!

On Cards

The original trumps in the Tarot cards were scenes from Templar history and mythos. This is shown in traditional scenes in cards such as The Emperess, where she sits between two columns, marked with a B and J. These are Boaz and Jachin, reputedly the two columns which held the curtain in the Jewish Temple separating the Holy from the Holy of Holies. These columns, in replica, are also found in every Masonic Temple.

Also note the card of Death with its depiction of death on a horse. Templar symbology relied heavily on black and white representing the duality of good and evil, a theme which ran heavily amongst the Templars. Some sources indicate that what is commonly known as the Pirate flag of two crossed bones and a skull was the flag of the Templar navy.

These are but two minor examples of a subject that is rife with Templar symbology.

They were used in the transmission of secret messages in code. The order and position of cards conveyed meaning to the person receiving the deck. If confiscated, the carrier would shuffle the cards and claim that they were for gambling. If pressed further, the carrier would further 'confess' that the cards were for fortune telling, concealing the true nature of the cards.

History shows that there are no records of Tarot cards before about 1350, which is less than 50 years after the Templars where persecuted for their lands and substantial wealth. Their ties throughout Europe and the middle east suffered on the surface but their networks continued to survive in secret.

The Tarot cards were but one means of communication to each other in a suddenly harsh environment.

But then again, I may be wrong.

New Discoveries

Hey everyone, I'm sorry it's been so long since I've posted something.

Most of you guys are probably already aware of this, but for those who aren't- there have been some new and exciting discoveries is the Rennes-le-Cheateau area. A body shrouded in Templar symbols, secret notes allegedly written by Sauniere 'provong' that The Magdalene came to France, and coded messages left in bottles.

All of this is detailed at the web page http://www.benhammott.com/ and http://www.bloodline-themovie.com/news.html Also, Ben Hammott will be releasing a book about the discovery in the near future.

And we're all still waiting to hear a release date on the Bruce Burgess documentary film 'Bloodline' and information on what theaters will be carrying it. I can't help but keep watching the trailers on the website whenever I have access to a broadband connection.

'The Journal of the Rennes Alchemist' had changed it's name to 'Rhedesium' and can be found at http://www.rennesalchemist.com I will try to update the links section of this community soon. And if anyone has any new links or information, I'd love to hear about it.

And finally I just want to say that we miss you, crankybadger and we want you to come home.

Friday, October 13th

Tomorrow, Friday October 13th, 2006 is the 699th anniversary of the arrest of the Knights Templar. It was on Friday, October 13th that the jealous king of France Phillip IV ordered the arrest and torture of the Knights via his toady Pope Clement V in order to gain the vast Templar treasure.

Which supposedly very little hard cash was recovered by the French Inquisition.

So, on this special anniversary, is something odd going to happen? Will the Templars take revenge for actions taken almost 700 years ago? Has their lineage survived to this day?

The idea of a 'bloodline' seems silly to me. I think they found something in Jerusalem, but something much more tangible than a supposed descendant of Jesus. Something that has been moved over the centuries, something that was the 'true' treasure which has been protected and hidden using the physical wealth of Europe and the Holy Land.

Tomorrow is a dark day. Beware the Rosy Cross.

Hi, name Michelle- location on a tropical island.. forgive the poor english grammars:]

Priory of Sion.. I want to know more about them-

The first time I heard about them, was when I wanted to learn more about Leonardo da Vinci.. for some reason i've become obsessed with learning about him since the beginning of this year, and there have been so many synchronicities that followed my investigation... apart from that, my search led me to the Priory of Sion etc..and in order to understand Leonardo better, I should learn about the organization he was involved with-

I can only say after coming across articles about the PoS earlier this year, I still have no clue exactly what the organization was really about.. I guess too many different stories out there and i'm trying to find the 'facts'.. or the true history of the Priory of Sion.

I just joined this community to see if perhaps i'll get more clue about them. It's possible what I'll read about here, i've already heard about and more.. but i'm hoping to get to the real deal.

The link below is of a group I understand are claiming to be the modern day PoS but by a different name.. I can't say I trust them at all.. I personally feel it's a bunch of folks who see a great opportunity to get people's money. [If there happen to be any members of that group here, I appologize if I get the wrong idea, or perhaps you could enlighten me somewhat..]

What do you think.. here's the link:
http://www.catholicanswer.org/homepage.html

Just got back from the movies...yes, that movie. I really don't have much to say about it other than it's what we all expected- hollywood's latest cash cow. Bestseller book + tom hanks + popular directer = filled seats. There were two things that I found amusing though, fist was the very quick camero appearance of Lynn Picknett and Clive Prince sitting next to each other on the bus in London. The other was how they managed to brush by the enigmatic passage in the Phillip Gospel.

I wanted to wish you all a great new year (even though I'm acknowledging the papal calendar) and let you in on some suggested reading-

Lynn Picknett and Clive Prince have finally released 'The Sion Revelation,'
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0743263030/qid=1136356655/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/104-0129137-4303159?s=books&v=glance&n=283155
This book is kind of a sequel to 'The Stargate Conspiracy' and 'The Templar Revelation.'

Lynn Picknett, on her own, recently published 'The Secret History of Lucifer'
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0786717610/qid=1136357063/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/104-0129137-4303159?s=books&v=glance&n=283155
A sequel to her 'Mary Magdalene' book about the demonization of ancient pagan gods and how the sacred feminine has been lost.

Graham Hancock, 'Superstition, meeting with the ancient teachers of mankind.'
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0385662165/qid=1136357465/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/104-0129137-4303159?s=books&v=glance&n=283155
I haven't read this, but it is getting very good reviews on other 'Priory' mailing lists.

If you can find it- 'The Dreamer of the Vine,' by Liz Greene. A novel about the Merovingian mystery, published long before 'The Da Vinci Code' and a few years before HBHG.

Neophyte Inquiry: Templars in "Kingdom of Heaven"

I saw Kingdom for the first time yesterday, but had been a fan of the Flash site for months. The first glaring bother to me was the physical depiction of the Templars; wavy long hair , and garments rich in jewels and fur. The further depiction of the the leaders Sir GUy and Reynald, (of that time in the crusades) as vile, vanity fueled power terrorists was cause for more concern. From my cursory readings into the crusades and the Templars roles, I was thinking that the film had the roles and perspectives of the Europeans COMPLETELY backwards.

The Templars were more conservative in garb and adornment, favoring short hair and beards as that shown by the Hospitaler in Kingdom, as played by David Thewlis. The Noblemen, like Liam Neeson's character, were more often than not, sporting long hair and bare faces. The Templars chose their look to gain more respect from the Muslims, many of whom considered the other Europeans to be effeminate. A distinction in appearance between men and women was important in that culture and all that of the Holy Lands, hence the shorter hair and beards.

I'll stop my rambling and end with this question: Did the film makers have it completely backwards?
Were not the Templars the unfortunate pawns of the crusades, whilst the nobles were the terrorists out for fortune and Papal absolution?

I'm currently reading Templar Revelation, a book on Jesus, Mary M, John the Baptist, and the Priory of Sion, but haven't really gotten a chance to read much what with being in my freshman year of college.

But anyway, I've been wondering if anyone else ever feels like they've almost been caught up in a fad. I know there's basis to most everything that this way of thinking goes about stating, but I felt like an ass finding all these types of books in the same section where they keep books on satanism, witchcraft and the like.

So no, I don't believe Jesus was the son of God, and if anyone has any more information on the conference between Constantine and others Brown made reference to in The da vinci code, where they "decided on Jesus' divinity" thatd be great
