Princess Tutu AMVs?
I know things are still somewhat slow on LJ lately but I'm interested to find out...

What are your favorite Princess Tutu AMVs? :)

Recommend your favorites, tell me which ones you think are on top of the heap. ^_^

EDIT: My own personal favorite (next to Hall om Mig) is called 'Dark Dance' (with the song by Nouvelle Vague, Dance With Me) by user JaddziaDax over at Anime Music Videos (dot) Org. I dlled it from there but someone also reposted it on Youtube...

I'm a huge fan of "Hall om Mig" and this other one which I forget the title of but it center's on Rue and the music used is "Pretty Girl" by Sugarcult <3

Who isn't a fan of Hall om Mig? It truly is amazing. It's like a staple for us Tutu fans. XD I'm going to try looking for the latter AMV. :)

I'm your typical Tutu fan in that I love Hall om Mig, buuuut a lot of LonelyDemon's are great. Like "Ahiru Meets Crocodile Hunter" (http://youtube.com/watch?v=vWzvM70WrPY) is really funny and El Ballet Clásico de Princesa TuTu (http://youtube.com/watch?v=NgM6or8ZJys) and Mitternacht (http://youtube.com/watch?v=1tiCamPL2bM) I like those. Though some of it doesn't make that much sense when you listen to the songs, they just have great movement if that makes sense.

No time like the present to catch up (or, rather, to start actively watching :P) on my AMV watching. Ahiru Meets Crocodile Hunter = really funny. And I get what you mean about how the videos have great movement, never mind the lyrics. XD

Hall om Mig is definitely one of the best.

My personal favorites:

Down With The Sickness by astrobright68 -- Some of the covers Richard Cheese does are just hilarious, but I was surprised to see how fitting it was. (Same with a ton of her AMVs; I just about died after I saw somebody match The Natural Playboy with Femio. ♥ Bust-A-Groove/Move.)

Good Boys Never Win by Megamom182 -- It's kind of a self-insert thing, but it's done rather well; to one of Blondie's songs. YOU TOO CAN BE AUTOR.

I'm Sorry by LonelyDemon -- an AMV set to Jem's 'They'. Very fitting of the series.

All of Kristen's work is pretty much awesome. <3

Ooh, yes, I saw Good Boys Never Win when [info]puchiko02 (if I remember correctly, anyway ^^;) shared the link with us. I love it, as well. Kind of sad, happy, and YAY AUTOR all at once. :P

All of her work is indeed awesome. (I messaged her a while back asking for tips on AMV making, actually, before I went anywhere with it. She was really informative!)

I saw it there too. :p Like I said, even if it was a self-insert, it worked. Plus, Autor. <3

I'm surprised at how well They fits the series. :/ Reminds me that I need to make an AMV one of these days.

I also puts AMVs on my Mp4 player. They help me get through a long bus ride home when I don't feel like reading. :)

First of all, seconding/thirding Astrobright's work. Her AMVs are amazing~

And I also really like Quicksilver's work. Her trailers are great and she has some really awesome AMVs, too. I'd recommend all of her work.

grandpaHUSKY also has some decent AMVs, but I really, especially like their remake trailers with PT.

Ketsuekiko also has some really nice PT AMVs that are interesting and well-thought out/executed.

This is probably one of my favorite Fakir tribute videos ever: 'Devestation and Reform' by SunkenWoglinde

As for more general ones, Beyond is one I'm very fond of. And I also liked In Hope.

This was an amazing Rue tribute (I'd link the other one this person did, but someone above already did.): Mermaid

Anabelladelalune also has some nice work. This love triangle AMV of hers (Unfaithful) was one of my favorites of her stuff.

Annnnd, there was this cracky one that was focused on Fakir and based from a musical that I also found really amusing: Fakir's Got It Bad

I also enjoyed 'Fairytale' by RadicalxYue.

Last but not least, this Ahiru tribute is also one of my favorites: Speck of Hope

Annnnnd! Another one I forgot. This one is totally WTF crack through almost all of it (the beginning looks innocent enough but JUST WAIT) and it's honestly the first serious Fakir/Rue video that's well-done that I've ever seen (Just be aware of OMFG THE CRACK especially some of those Fakir edits. wtttttffffffK Oh, and it's also in another language. XD; And won 1st place at AnimefestCZ 2008, according to the comments ): Silene Smutne AMV

Thanks for the detailed list. :) A lot of those, I haven't seen yet. Ooh, yes, the trailer remakes. I love those. XD (Mytho practically gets to be every protagonist and villain :P). I didn't notice a PT Twilight trailer remake had been added. <3

"Hall om Mig" actually got me into the anime, I had randomly found it and watched it and got curious about the series. Another one I love is a Rue-centered AMV that goes to the song 'Missing' by Evanescence. I'll get the link for you.

Like everyone else, Hold Me Now is my favorite. But some of my other favorites include in more or less a chronological order (i.e. when I saw them):

My Only One by serika_san. This was her first AMV but god, it blew me away when I saw it.

Broken Illusion also by serika_san. When I finished watching this AMV I almost cried. ;_; It was that good!


This AMV has incredibly well layered scenes and the music matches the animation perfectly. The opening and closer also had a very fairytale feel to it and just makes it an all round wonderful video. If you're gonna watch it I suggest downloading the high-def version at animemusicvideo.org


This is by a Japanese fan, and I love how well edited and epic the AMV feels.

Oooooh, there's so many great videos being posted! (hahaha I'm such a newbie with this show.) An AMV I really like that I don't think was mentioned yet is this one to the song Kiss By a Rose that's a Fakir/Ahiru tribute. It may not be the best tribute out there for them but I really like this video (and song!). And Somewhere Only We Know is all right too (another Fakir/Ahiru one), but that's one of my favourite songs so I could be biased.

Already mentioned, but the AMV by Jem's "They" song is soooo good. :D

This AMV using a song from The Nightmare Before Christmas is very amusing to me for some reason.

All of [info]serika_san's AMVs are awesome. <3 I love that song, Kiss By A Rose. I might be biased, as well, because Somewhere Only We Know is a favorite of mine. XD I think the video was okay, if a little too literal at a few points. :)

That AMV with Halloweentown as the song is pretty good, too. I wish I could erase the subtitles because the timing is great.

Look at me be late *smacks self* I think one of the videos I mention has been mentioned, but I think it deserves a second mention.

Hijo de la Luna - the song this AMV uses has been my favorite song EVER since like, years ago. I love it. Here you can find a translation of the lyrics. I think all in all, the amv is strangely fitting dsfgsdfg love it.

Save the Last Dance makes me giggle. And again, oddly fitting, I think :B wheee...

Over the hills and Far away - I think the person whom did this, did an awesome job at an AU setting sorta. I like it lots. And loved the song to boot.

Only one - This is, along with Hold me now, one of the AMVs responsible for making me watch the show in the first place xD;

Prinz of the Caribbean - Because it amuses me BEYOND belief. Mytho!Jack is the best thing on this side of the earth. *runs off now!*

Thanks for the translation for Hijo de la Luna. I am now officially a fan of golko31's three Tutu AMVs. All made of awesome. 0_0 I can't get enough of them now.

Prinz of the Carribean, possibly the trailer vid I love best from that particular AMV maker. XD Like I said, Mytho's practically everyone's protagonist/villain. :P

Oh, goodness, where to begin. Well, for one, many awesome ones have already been said, like the ones for Fairyland and Hall Om Mig Nu. Some of my recent favorites, however, are:

-Tango Mytho by princesssemi: I did roleplayed with astrobright68 with Fakir and Rue singing about Mytho, yes, so I'm semi-biased, but I just couldn't stop laughing with how well the clips were synced up.

-Rue is Princess Kraehe by LadyNadeshiko: I love anything that can use classical music well in an AMV, and Swan Lake just fits way too well for Rue.

-Anything by Shiirahime, GRANDPAhusky, xxxQuicksilver or astrobright68, naturally.

-Sympathy, Tenderness by SunkenWoglinde: The musical Jekyll and Hyde is just beautiful, and the song works so well for Rue.

-Fakir, Man of Love and Princess Tutu Hell by Swordsncarrots: Both drop-dead hilarious.

-Last, but certainly not least... Princess Tutu Ultimate Showdown by puchiko2.

'Rue is Princess Kraehe' is so beautiful. The maker really made the video match the rising and falling of the musical piece. I agree, very Rue. It left me feeling very sad afterwards.

Same with Sympathy, Tenderness. Short, bittersweet.

Let me watch those last videos to make myself laugh. XD

EDIT: OMG, no words, no words. XD I feel a bit lightheaded. XXDD Thank goodness I'm the only one awake to hear me laughing. XXDD

Sexy Spanish!Fakir is sexy. Have to have that for my mp4 player. And the Ultimate Showdown. :P I looked up the lyrics and rewatched to make sure I got who was Shaq and Godzilla and stuff (hehe, maybe I got a little too interested there *shifty eyes*).

I love many Princess Tutu AMV's but these are my favourite favorites.

Call Of The Sirens, I love this AMV very much, especially the story that goes with it.

Fairytale Gone Bad, this AMV made me a fan of this song and now I can sing the whole song out of the top of my head without help.

Behind These Crimson Eyes, also made a fan of a song xD. But I also like the story that goes with the AMV eventhough you can watch it without the story.
