Hi Austen fans!
I'm currently in an undergrad Jane Austen class, and in the midst of writing my final paper. I've previously written a short paper (for the same class) that I'll be expanding for this one.
In my shorter paper, I *basically* looked at how the characters of Pride and Prejudice were represented in modern contexts in Lost in Austen and Me and Mr. Darcy. For my expansion, I'm considering adding another work or two, but I've hit some stumbling blocks.
There are obviously plenty of sequels, stories told from different perspectives, modern adaptations, you name it, but I'm specifically looking for those in which P&P's characters interact with a modern-day setting or character in some sense.
Anyway, I'd love suggestions, if you know of any. I read the first two Thursday Next novels a few years ago--for those who have read them, do P&P characters ever show up during the series? If this turns out to be a lost cause, I might look at any situation where the characters are out of their original context. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, maybe, or Kessel's "Pride and Prometheus."
I appreciate any insight you might have! (And apologies for any spamming caused by cross-posting.)
