9:00p Vintage kimono books So my other books arrived yesterday and I had all day to scan the second book and make a more intelligent post then the 2am one so I've re-hashed some information and added the other book. Both were published by the Japan Travel Bureau and the earlier belongs to a library of many books each covering a different subject about japans culture. The libraries were designed for tourists and information for foreign countries. When I first started researching about kimono on the Internet years ago I stumbled upon a few scans of Japanese Dress and fell in love with the lady in the striped kimono pages 49 through 55 and many of the other photos. I saved those photos on my computer and thought no more of them until I come across that same book. I was over come with excitement at the thought of owning it and getting to read what the text said, and I have not been disappointed the book is such a sweet little thing. A Pictorial Story was a suprise and again not at all a disappointment. In fact I would dare say more beautiful then Japanese Dress. Its a larger book made of Japanese washi paper and it is full of gorgeous illustrations. Both books also make a mention of Geisha and their differing kimono. Anyway enough blathering from me now. If anyone would like to read or just skip through them I scanned, straightened and cropped each page then uploaded them for anyone to see. I hope you enjoy them. Please click to read.

11:06a My new home Tomorrow we are moving all our big stuff and we will spend our first night there ^^ Yesterday we made a small movie, but I need to edit this first :p so now only a few pics ^^ Oh yes we have a dishwasher!!! the half finished living room, it still needs his wallpaper, the man is my father in law ^^ The pink room!! Almost finished, I still need to paint the door and the window sides. This room will become my: clothings, doll, fish, sewingmachine, make-up, nail room.

11:54p Random The girl in this entry's avatar is not me.. Was late to work today. I thought I was scheduled to work at 2, so I thought Lauren and I could hang for a bit beforehand. A few minutes after I got to her house around 12:20, my boss called and asked if I knew I was scheduled to work at 12. Woops. I knew she was a bit annoyed, but by the time I got there, she just laughed at me. Haha. I love working at Beverly's. Sucks that it's hard to pay off my exorbitant medical bills working retail though. *hopes for a mountain of Etsy sales* Seriously though, we get to dress up the whole week of Halloween! Hooray! My boss also wants to borrow my ruby slippers, I'll have to see if I can get 'em out of storage. The Lovemakers show at Cellar Door was super-fun... lots of people, band members drenching themselves in beer, everyone dancing to 80's remixes afterwards, it doesn't get much better than that. And I forgot my camera. I know of at least three other girls (my younger sister included) that want to be Barbie for Halloween. I swear, I thought of it on my own! It was also an excuse to order this and this from Patricia Field. And you know I'll wear 'em after Halloween. THE first day of autumn was a couple weeks ago but Visalia's first day of autumn was definitely today. It's nice and all, but within a month it'll be suuuper cold. Le sigh. Same-sex marriage was legalized in the state of Connecticut! 3 down, 47 to go! There was no reunion episode on Project Runway. WTF??!! I'm scheduled for another Pop Noir fashion show, for January 23rd. About a week before my birthday, woot! current music: Goldfrapp - Deep Honey

10:35p TGIF Ohhhh, it's good to be back. My home computer's finally restored, after a long week of being down. We're attached at the hip. It's kinda sad. Speaking of long weeks, this was the longest week I've had in awhile. Work was criminally insane to start with, but I got it under control and managed to get everything done. Killi only sort of made it through her first week of preschool. We had to pull her out early twice this week due to another fever and a rash. She's on the mend but it's going to get worse before it gets better now that she's around a lot of kids all day long and flu season's upon us. Opportunistic virus, meet tender new immune system. It'll be a defensive relationship from the start. Your abuse will only clue her in to your inner workings. Eventually her personal bodyguards will find you and hold you down while the masses destroy your ass. And each new relationship will only serve to fortify her resolve. Yes, there'll be casualties, but new warriors will arise, borne of blood and bone. And so it goes. My car was in the shop for the first half of the week. I was getting my timing belt changed when they called to recommend that I also get a new water pump. Then they found that a couple other belts were cracked and worn, and two of my engine mounts were broken. But they were willing to work with me, for when I mentioned my AAA membership they threw in a car wash and a complimentary ass-fucking. So I drove out of there $968 poorer and I won't shit right for a week, but hey, my car is shiny and happy. But then two pieces of good news--due to the drop in housing prices, we get to pay $1000 less on our property taxes this upcoming year. Which is awesome, even though it just all got spent on my car. Then the best news--Chris finally received a very belated and muchly deserved promotion, so we're quite happy about that. That pretty much trumped the rest of the week. Me, I feel like I been rode hard and put up wet. Sleep has been fleeting this week so I'm pretty much exhausted. I've been uncharacteristically craving sugar pretty badly the last couple of days and I think it's because my body knows that sugar will give it a boost. And this weekend's packed with stuff to do. Well, Kieran wants popcorn to go with his Friday night movie so I'm outta here.
