| About: | All of this is thanks to ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif){kind=small} jynnantonnyx28 whose idea it was to create an archive that would make finding our favorite Rayne fics a little easier.Pretty Deadly is an archive of the fics posted at ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif){kind=small} rayne_shippers, cobb_and_tam, fanfiction.net and fireflyfans.net's Blue Sun Room. No fics have been reproduced, this community serves simply as an organized list of links. If you feel any of these are labeled incorrectly, please let us know. :)You must join to be able to use the archive for now, but we recommend not watching it (setting it as a friend) as we will probably be updating it in large batches that will flood your friends page. Most categories are self-explanitory, but just to be clear here are some of the definitions we're working with: Story Type -challenge fic: Any fic written as a response to a challenge, there is no specified length associated with this category. -five things: A fic written for the Five Things meme that essentially contains five short stories based on a given theme. Stories contained may be interconnected or independent. -drabble: Any fic of 200 words or less. -ficlet: A standalone fic between 200 and 1000 words. -one-shot: A standalone fic of more than 1000 words. -series: A fic with multiple chapters, sequels, prequels and/or companion pieces. -epic: A long series. Set aside a good amount of time if you're planning on reading in one sitting. Genre -adventure: A plot-heavy fic with lots of action. -alt. future: Depicts the future of an alternate turn of events than shown in canon. -angst: Strongly emotional fic, usually a tear-jerker or gut-twister. -AU: Alternate Universe, explores "what-if" scenarios that alter canon. Sometimes takes the characters into different settings or gives them altered backgrounds. -baby!fic: River and/or Jayne have children. Can also be used if another crew member's child is featured in relation to River and Jayne. -crossover: A combination of the 'verse with another movie/television show/book/comic book, etc. -dark: A dark-toned fic where the characters suffer pain, trauma and/or death. -drama: A fic with plenty of emotional turmoil. -fluff: A generally happy fic where all is well and our main characters are, or start to fall, in lurve. -humor: Designed to make you laugh, giggle, titter, guffaw, gigglesnort, snerkle, chuckle...or sneeze. ;) -pre-rayne: A fic where there is no romantic relationship apparent (yet!) between River and Jayne. -romance: Focuses on River and Jayne loving each other or the process of falling in love. -smut: Sexin' and plenty of it. Keywords (there are a lot of these, so I'll only describe ones that may seem confusing) -bunk visit: River or Jayne sneak, or are invited into, the other's bunk. -crazy sitting: Jayne has to look out for River, usually he's assigned to take care of her while the others are away or busy. -CSI: Crazy Space Incest, there is some kind of incestuous relationship implied between River and Simon. -lab rat Jayne: River takes it upon herself to investigate what makes Jayne tick, usually involves some kind of scientific observation on her part. -lost and found: River or Jayne goes missing and the other must find them. -love triangle: River or Jayne competes for the attention of the other with another character. -makeover: River is given a new wardrobe and/or makeup to show that she is an adult and is sometimes taken on a shopping trip to do so. -new crew: Serenity takes on new employees, usually to replace Wash or another missing character. -night wandering: Nocturnal occurrences aboard Serenity while the rest of the crew is asleep. -nurse: A sick or injured River or Jayne is cared for by the other. -ot3: A romantic threesome with River, Jayne and another character. -planetside: Most or all of the action takes place offship. -R. Tam sessions: Includes mention of the viral marketing video Joss and Summer made of River's time at the academy. -River/OC: River is in a romantic relationship with someone other than Jayne at some point in the story. -Vera's origin: We find out how Jayne got his favorite gun or why he named it Vera. -watcher: River or Jayne observe each other from afar. -weight bench: Jayne gets to pump some iron, usually resulting in a panting, sweaty mercenary. | |
