I'd love to give a shout-out to shatteredxicons for making awesome icons! She made 44 Lindsay Lohan icons from her "Confessions of a Broken Heart" video last night. *points to her icon for preview* Aaand she just recently made a new layout for the community featuring the Sugababes and it looks so wonderful! I <3 that layout so much, wow. She did an excellent job. ;)

I want to give a special shout-out to emmysdream Not only did she make a customized icon for any of her members that wanted one--but when I had difficulties saving it--she helped me and it finally worked after trying a couple or things (she was nice enough to send it to me). So thank you emmysdream

I think some really good icon request communites are 13linkies_icons and serrated_icons - 13linkies_icons gives you one icon request and one banner/other graphic request per week, and serrated has unlimited icon requests.

I'd also like to promote my community, iconic_mania, which is brand new, with only one post, so I'd really appreaciate anyone who would like to join, because we could use it. ^_^

Hi, I just saw this site and thought it was a wonderful idea. There are so many wonderful icon makers out there that don't get all the credit they deserve.

I adore vblackangelv the wonderful maker of icon_goddess She has wonderful icons, headers, you name it, everything she makes is amazing.

I also adore dinkylorenzo with her community-- iconxbrothel She has such amazing work as well.

One of my first icon makers I friended--who I still love is _impulse She has amazing work as well.

Also suziebr with her community of _brokeandfamous is also amazing

I could go on all night why I adore these wonderful makers--besides the fact that they have amazing work. :) I also have a huge list of others that need to be mention--but I'm not feeling very well at the moment.

But thank you to all the wonderful makers out there. I appreciate all the work that you put into your graphics!

Two new icon communities

These are both just getting started but they deserve kudos anyway. fairewench has been active in several other icon communities and now she has her own at juicy_grapes and she's got a LOT of really cute ones already. She does a great job...I'm about to go snag some Halloween stuff from her! (Oh, and she posts other graphics as well, like sigs and banners.)

And then there's andicons, she's really new but she already has some of the most adorable icons. She really puts a lot of time & effort into them and it shows.

Great idea for a community!

I just joined and I guess I would have to say that icon_goddess is the best graphics designer I've ever seen.

I also have seen a lot of great graphics and icons at graphiclyyours, sinful_graphics, emmysdream, laughtur and angel_elf_icons.

Also leggyslove is a wonderful graphics designer who deserves a lot of credit for the time and effort put into her icons.

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks to all those people and communities and keep up the great work :)

What a great community! I don't feel like I can ever thank icon and layout makers enough and I always feel so bad when they get ripped off, so I'm glad to see a place where they can get the appreciation they deserve!

Thanks to dinkylorenzo and her iconxbrothel community. I love her work and she's always so friendly! I've gotten so many icons from her, I ended up getting a paid account so I could use them all!

And for icon_goddess...so many beautiful icons, I can't even choose!

I applied to sinful_graphics like two months ago and still haven't heard anything back. :( But I know how busy life can get and I'm sure it'll be worth the wait.

Anyway, thanks to all of ya for taking time out of your busy schedules and sharing your talents with us all!

I've had quite a few icons made from several different communities. There are a billion icon makers/communities here on LJ, but these are by far the best:

gfxxx - they don't really have a limit on how many/what you ask for & they always get it done w/in one week. andthependulum & d1fferences have both made me some great icons there.

eyekons - this place lets you request FIVE/wk. and they have some of the best makers, such as babyjustaskme who had made me several & feverishly made me a great one a few days ago.

backstage_icons - pleiades & bitter_candy.

luminated_icons - lilypads made me one of my favorite icons.

g_r_a_p_h_i_x - innocenceagain also made me another one of my favorite icons

dreamycreations - lilkrayzeechick & whiterage does good stuff.

artificialicons - reflections made me some bad ass icons, so did koretotheradio.

silent_sanity makes great stuff too.

There are a ton of icon makers I really appreciate, but for the moment let me just give props to both peacefully and shamanic_nuriko, both of which obviously put SO much effort into making their icons beautiful and useful...
