HuH?
WTF kind of drug-induced haze does it take for the long-dead creator [info]testarossa to remove the (seriously) brilliant mods of [info]amipregnant?

No lip service here. These ladies (and gent) are straightforward, honest, no-bullshit pillars of good and thorough and correct information. Do you get it? Stuff that's never found on ellJay, especially when pregnancy is the topic (*eye roll*).

[info]dindin
[info]ladykathryn
[info]rawness
[info]brite
[info]ceejayoz
[info]zinnea
[info]mslaynie

...all deserve awards for wading through what's often head-slapping nonsense in the likes of, "I lost my virginity last night and I think I felt the baby kick this morning! AMIPREGNATE!?" or "My boyfriend came on my knee and my knee is connected to my thigh which is connected to my girlie bits so could I be pregnate?". They answered with a straight face and had a thousand sources were you to need them ... and they were -removed-?

What kinda shit is this, [info]testarossa?

No shit. [info]rawness has been awesome about providing information in a straightforward manner when it's needed. I used to email her with dumb questions, and she was (is) endlessly patient with me. When people take the time to research things for you or speak from personal experience, that needs to be appreciated.

The batshit "creator" of amipregnant, though, removed all of them. HELLO? BRANEDED.

I heard about that, and all I can say is LAME. I love it when people abandon communities and then come back EONS LATER and remove the mods who were keeping the place going.

i don't know about the power-hungry creator thing but isn't it sad that all these girls who DO NOT want to get pregnant are not using BC and/or 'pulling out'? my school's sex ed was microscopic but we still all knew how babies were made. i seriously fear when my daughter (7 months) gets to school.

i seriously fear when my daughter (7 months) gets to school.

Well, there's a very simple fix for that. You teach her long before the school's "education" would be an important fact.

Hilarious, but she's either deluded or a liar.

Her emails were never ignored and there was a very constructive reason given: she abandoned her community for more than a year. For the record when I took over she was kept on with full maintainer and
moderator status the entire time until last week at which point I did
remove her.

Thanks for your support!!

Ah. An interesting question, little grasshopper.

Some older communities still have a password associated with them. You used to be able to log on as a "community", whereas now you cannot.

While all the old mods had maintainer status, the one thing we never had (nor occured to us to ask about) was a community password.

That, friend is how she gained access to the community and kicked everyone out (and padded the moderator list with sock puppets *cough*).

Beats me, but its only ones that were created before a certain date. Circa 2003 or 4 sometime.

Really? I log in all the time under FYL .. just out of habit 'cause that used to be the only way to edit the personal info and all.

It's in the FAQ that old maintainers can get access to the comm after being removed using passwords -if- the community is old enough to have been set up with a password.

Re: Incidentally

I can't remember exactly when it was, but when they switched over to the new system that you have to be logged into the journal you want to be maintainer of the community you're creating, and when you create the community you are automagically listed as maintainer... that's when they stopped using passwords for communities. Before, you had to create a journal first, then switch the journal over to a community, right? Therefore, the community was actually completely separate from the creator's journal, and necessitated a password.

I can't, though, for the life of me remember when this happened. I BELIEVE it was in early 2004, or late 2003. But don't quote me. :D

Also, I hope girls stop going to amip because looking at the responses anymore, they're not getting any good help... you guys MADE that community. I can't believe how petty some people are. :(
