Kind of weak, but I headdesked at this.

I've missed several periods (and don't think I'm pregnant) but haven't had the money to go to a doctor to see whether or not I have PCOS/other problems but I don't care whether or not I get pregnant so I have a lot of unprotected sex.

If you can't afford to go for a gyn checkup, how are you going to afford prenatal care? Not to mention the baby itself. Or do they pop out with a bag of cash in their hand? Cause shit, if there's a cash bonus involved I want in on this.

Missed Periods Like Wh0a!!
Okay so I am 19. I am not worried of getting prepgnant. So therefore I have unprotected sex with my fiancee. And I do want a baby. We're not trying hard like tracking ovulation times and what not. But sort've if it happens, it happens, ya know? Well I've went 6 months now according to cyclespage.com without a period exactly to the day. Ive tested so many times throughout the months it isn't even funny. And all of them come out negative. But still no period. No signs of pregnancy or getting bigger. My sister had went 11 months without a period and she was fine. She went to the doctor they said she was fine just didnt have one. Well my mom has too many periods. And my grandmother had early menopause at like 28. So as you can see everything is really out of whack. Any thoughts? And yes! I know I need to go to the doctor but I am bad at keeping myself in line. And that and money has been tight. YES! for 6 months. So any thoughts would be cool. <33 Jessica Marie

UPDATE!:

I didn't want advice on what I should and shouldn't do. If I needed that I'd go to my mother. I just wanted advice on what could be wrong with me. Thanks for all the help. Geez. If I were to get pregnant I have ways to take care of that and get around it. Ya know why money has been tight? Paying bills, moving into a new apartment, paying off a car, and not to mention paying off loans. OOOooOO I really am not responsible am I? Guess what in 9 whole months or even less than that money wont be tight, okay? So yeah money is tight right now. So if I could get some thoughts as to WHAT YOU MIGHT THINK IS WRONG WITH ME PHYSICALLY. Then please do comment. BUT IF YOU'RE GOING TO TELL ME WHAT I CAN AND CAN'T DO OR SHOULD AND SHOULDN'T DO THEN YOU CAN JUST DISREGUARD THIS POST. Didn't know I had to keep everyone updated on my personal and financial life.

Thanks.

If she can't "keep herself in line", how does she expect to raise a child? She must not realize realize that once she gets pregnant she'll have to "keep herself in line" monthly for prenatal checkups. Then don't even get me started on the "money is tight" line.

That shit really pisses me off. Yet another idiot who's going to end up in pregnant or _pregnant_ complaining because she's "OMG sooooo scared that she's not going to qualify for WIC and Medicaid!!! How ever will I afford to buy my baby formula??? Plz fellow LJ preggos, come in and console my poor pathetic ass because I fucked up and got preggerz when I knew I couldn't afford it and on top of it, my boyfriend lefted me and I'ma be a single mommy!"

UGHHH! *headdeskshotgunface*

Safe Space is the most important part of VaginaPagina.

Safe Space means that each and every member should feel welcome (though not obligated) to participate in an empowering, non-judgmental, non-threatening and, well, safe space. Please keep in mind that pretty much everything that remotely relates to the vagina is intensely personal for most members, so it is important to respond thoughtfully and responsibly to people's posts. Remember the old adage, "it's not what you say it's how you say it"? It applies quite well here. All of VP's policy revolves around the notion of Safe Space.

That said, however, we can't protect every one of our many thousands of members from ever being offended or unhappy with the community. Sometimes people come to VP wanting members to tell them what they want to hear, even though the truth may be something different. We can't protect them from that. Part of Safe Space, therefore, is making sure we're empowering each other without enabling destructive behaviors and attitudes.

We are all responsible for protecting, defending, maintaining and nurturing the safe space in this community. If you ever feel that the safe space has been violated, here are two simple things you can do to help:

* Stay out of any related flame wars.
* Notify the VP Team and we will act swiftly.

Of course, we expect that the integrity and spirit of VP will be maintained by all our members. We always encourage and welcome multiple perspectives on issues that can help us all better understand our bodies--well-researched disagreement is great; intolerance, hatefulness and negativity, however, are simply not acceptable. Those kinds of attitudes only serve to undermine and silence the very voices we want to hear. Please do what you can to help make this a welcoming (and safe) space for all. NOTE: For more information about VP's goals and non-judgmental approach, see here.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to get in touch.

That made me see CRIMSON. Telling someone who can't afford to see a doctor ONCE in half a year is destructive??? I don't see how anyone can not expect a baby to not require *any* medical attention or money even if the pregnancy is unassisted (which it wouldn't be---more taxes for everyone!) A creature that immature NEEDS a big fat slap in the face with reality *before* her stupidity bears its inevitable fruit!

Oh, shakey shakey angry over this one.

Yea and what if she's not able to "keep herself in line" and get her child to a doctor should they become ill? "Oh well, I didn't have the money to pay for the appointment so I figured I'd let him/her tough it out."

Not to mention that places like Planned Parenthood will charge you based on a sliding scale, so there really is no excuse for not going to the doctor.

If you can't afford to go for a gyn checkup, how are you going to afford prenatal care? Not to mention the baby itself.

Well, there's medicaid, food stamps, WIC, TANF, the baby shower, thrift stores, craigslist, yard sales, hand-me-downs, dollar stores, pro-life centers, churches, and so on...

True, but if she won't even use that to her advantage to make sure she isn't pregnant who knows if she'd consider it for a pregnancy? Besides, medicaid and other financial aid programs don't raise kids for immature parents. Makes the ones who do use medicaid (like me) seem like crappy parents even if we use it to take care of our children.

ok, but i can see wanting a baby, but if you KNOW you can't afford to give the baby a good life, how can you be selfish enough to want one at that time but wait until later? i can undrstand accidently getting knocked up, but to do it on purpose and knowingly go on welfare and get assistance..... Iunno, it seems immature and irresponsible to me.

this will most likely not be shown...
but this was my reply to the mod

"I would say that telling someone who doesn't have money for a baby that they should think twice before having unprotected sex is indeed appropriate.

SafeSpace is one thing, but this is just silly. She's being irresponsible as a human being in general. No one said she was a horrible person, just that she needs to have a more realistic perspective on the situation.

And someone who says "it doesn't matter my situation now because I'm having the baby in 9 months and things will be different" probably needs to hear constructive criticism
which doesn't always mean that it is inappropriate"

Edit #2 I didnt diagnose myself from the internet. I just checked out a PCOS site with facts and I think my symptoms match those. I do have a doctor's appointment scheduled. And for everyone out there. Just a little look at reality. I could be doing worse things. I could be even more irresponsible. Being 14 with unprotected sex and no job and living at home. But ya know what? I am not. And sorry can't make more than 13 bucks an hour. And again didnt know that the rest of my life besides my physical was any of your business. But thanks for all being pretty much rude. You're awesome, give yourself a pat on the back. Nice <33 Jessica Marie
