Okay. So this may come off as weird...
My mother has this strange idea that urine is good for the baby's complexion. She says, that with all three of her kids, she rubbed our (own) pee on our faces from our diapers, and that is why we have such nice skin.
Mind you, she didn't just mush the diapers in our face, however she did rub them around the forehead & cheeks.
I have made it clear to her, that I do not want her to do this to my child. She has made it very clear, that she is going to anyway, and that eventually she will be alone with the baby. (I am living in my mothers house while I get my life on track and try to save money for an apartment..) She says that the urine is clean and that it's not like she would do it with anybody else's. I'm still not comfortable with this idea, and I do NOT want her doing it to my daughter.
My question is: have any of you done this to your children or ever heard of it being done?? How do you feel about it? What would you say to my mother if you were in my shoes? (This is a big argument for us, because I swear I will never leave my baby alone with her and she keeps saying "just wait, you've never been a mother, you are going to need a break to take a poop and when you do, i'm going to rub the diaper on her face") |
