germankitty @ 09:43 am: The Forum was moved
Just a heads-up -- the free service where I've set up the forum has moved to a new server, and has therefore changed its address.

The forum can now be reached here.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but it was out of my hands.

hagar_972 @ 08:28 pm: PR Classics: Old School Edition - Winners!
On behalf of the PR Classics Staff, I am very proud to present the winners for the first round of Power Rangers Classics Awards.

There are two classes of winners: Classics Hall of Fame and Classics. In each class, winners are divided according to the categories and nieches that were used for nominations and voting. Some Classics are marked “unconfirmed”, which means that we failed to contact the author but deemed the work to be of enough merit to be listed anyway.

Banners will appear some time during the coming week. (Hopefully, I should amend: it seems whenever we set a deadline RL conspired to interfere.)

I would like to thank the Staff members:
Classics Yellow [info]andersenmom, who kept all nominations and voting tables in order and managed most of the correspondance.
Classics Black [info]germankitty, who ran the forum, helped with correspondance and contributed of her fandom and fic knowledge.
Classics Pink [info]starandrea, curator, who also kept the more intense Staff members in check.
Classics Blue [info]cmar_wingnut, curator, who had a major part in establishing the policy and is one of the two founders.

Congratulations to all the winners, thanks to everyone who participated, and I’m hoping to to see you all at the next round!

And now, without further ado:

hagar_972 @ 06:03 pm: First Round: Voting Closed
Hello All,

Voting for the first round closed on Sunday. We are hoping to announce winners within the week.

As you may recall, winning structure in PR Classics are somewhat different. All stories, authors and projects that had been nominated are winners - they are all classics. Additionally, these authores, stories and projects which are in the upper percentage of votes will be inducted into the PR Classics Hall of Fame. All Classics winners will receive banners.

Once the winners have been announced and banners posted, we will take a break for RL and other matters before we return for the second round of PR Classics: Space Age. (Temporary name.)

Thank you all for your participation!

andersenmom @ 04:52 pm: Third Voting Post!

Julia H.
Rain Fletcher
Melissa Morris

Second, please note: If there is a (waiting confirmation) notice by the name, please do not vote for that person until that has been cleared.

Third, vote please!
Nominees are as follows:

Comments are screened; any questions we get will be unscreened.

To vote, merely put the author or story you vote for in a comment, as well as (especially in the case of an anonymous comment) a way to contact you, to confirm you are a person, and to keep someone from voting more than once. Thanks so much!

andersenmom @ 12:18 pm: Nominations post four
Welcome to [info]pr_classics Nomination post number Four!

For previous nominations, please go here and here and here. Voting is going on here.

First, please make sure to read the rules post; there is a lot of information there, all of it necessary for us to be able to process your nomination. It includes instructions on HOW to correctly nominate someone, so make sure you read it.

And, to the nominations. Please, keep in mind that these nominations are only for stories which begin during the MMPR, Zeo, and Turbo seasons up to Passing the Torch. It is an arbitrary assignment, more for administrative ease than anything else. Please keep your nominations to this period at this time.

Our categories are as follows:

Category list )

If you have questions, by all means, ask them. Our only request is that you put the subject line "Question" on your comment, so we can handle your comments with a little more ease. This post is for Nominating authors or works, or for asking questions. If you'd like to start a discussion, we have a perfectly good Forum for such things; please take them there.

Also, please note that we are looking for people willing to create banners, or who are willing to back us up on administrative duties in case we get completely swamped. The sign-up post is here.

Note: Please indicate if the fic is adult (NC-17) or is a torture fic, for the benefit of those with those squicks.

Thanks so much!

hagar_972 @ 09:01 am: Public Service Announcement: Round 1 approaching close!
Hello everyone!

The Real Life hiatus has taken a little longer than we predicted. However, looks like we're back in business.

Nominations will close by Feb.15. Voting will close by Mar.01.

Another set of Nominations and Voting posts will go up within a week.

Once again, I encourage you to nominate, vote and spread the word. I also remind you of our community page, the link to which is available from our profile.

See you in the voting comments,

hagar_972 @ 03:34 pm: Status Post
Hi All!

The Admin Staff had been taken over by something of an RL storm, but I wanted to assure you that we're very much still in business - sort of on a beginning-of-academic-and-school-year break, I guess.

Also, i'd like to encourage everyone to vote. We've had only precious few votes so far. Voting doesn't require an LJ account, and may be done either at the current voting post. (This post is currently not mirrored to the forum. Note that forum votes are publically viewable.)

To vote, simply repy to the voting post with all the stories and authors you'd like to vote or as PR Classics. You can vote for as many nominees in the same category as you'd like (though we'd rather if you don't vote for all); you can vote for yourself. Your voting comment will be screened, and viewable to Classics Staff only. If you are not a registered LJ user, please leave your email address in the comment and one of us will contact you to confirm your vote.

Also, i'd like to remind you that Nominations are still open in parallel to the voting.

If you have nominated a story or an author and you do not see them in the latest voting post, it is likely for one of the following reasons:
(1) The author is out of contact
(2) The author had declined nomination
(3) The nomination had been accepted, and will go up in the next voting post

For any questions pertaining to a particular post, please reply to that post: Admin are tracking all relevant posts. For any other questions, comment here or email me. (My email is available at my profile pages both here and on ff.net.)

Cheers Y'all & Happy Voting (and nomination!),

Hagar/Red

p.s. The second voting post is indeed mirrored to the forum - thank, Black! *ducks head*

hagar_972 @ 11:31 am: PR Classics Status Post: Voting Open!
Hi All,

(1) Voting is now open.
(2) Vote by LJ comment. All comments are screened. Comments must be identifiable: if you are not a registered LJ user, please include an email address or other means for us to confirm your identity. This is to prevent double-voting.
(3) It is also possible to vote at the forum. Please note that the forum does not allow for screening - your vote will be public.
(4) Please do not double-vote both here and at the forum. If you did so once and by honest mistake, no harm. If you'll do so repeatedly or if there are grounds to believe you did so intentionally (so as to skew voting), you will be banned and your vote discounted.
(5) Second Nominations Post is still open, unless by the time you see this post [info]andersenmom would have already posted the third. Nominations are still open!

Also, we seem to have nice nomination coverage in the angst niches, but not so in others. Please help make PR Classics Awards better and more representative by suggesting more nominations!

Thank you all for your participation & hoping y'all are having fun,

Classics Red

hagar_972 @ 08:59 pm: Status Update
Just a quick status update:

(1) The nominations from the first nominations post had been accepted and nominees contacted. We're still waiting on a few people, and then the first voting post will go up.

(2) The second nominations post is still open. We'll close it and open the third when voting officially begins.

This is all for now. I hope voting will begin over the next 2-3 days, and in the meantime - nominations are open, fire away!

October 4th, 2008

hagar_972 @ 05:48 pm: Regarding nominations
Classics Red here, with two reminders regarding nominations:

(1) Please remember that this round does not include stories based in post-Passing of the Torch PR. Namely, please do not nominate stories from later seasons right now.

(2) When nominating an author or a story, please explicitly state which category (and niche if required) you're nominating them in. Also, please make sure to read the category descriptions.

(3) Edited to add, if you are nominating a story containing torture, regardless of the story's rating, please include this in the nomination data. (Yes, this clause just got added; consider it an internal admin label to facilitate the nomination processing.)

Also, we're currently in the process of confirming the first batch of nominations, so the first voting post should appear over the next few days.

Thank you!
