TV schedule after the Writers Strike

The community has been pretty dead lately. Here is an article for you. I don't think it'll cheer you up, but at least we know when our beloved Private Practice is back.

At long last, a strike chart you can get excited about!

With the three-month-old WGA strike finally over (yay!), the networks are feverishly finalizing plans to salvage what's left of the current TV season. At the same time, I've been quietly picking at my moles to get a preview of those plans — the results of which appear in chart form below.

Keep in mind that the following information remains extremely tentative and is subject to change (and probably will). In other words, I strongly suggest you refresh your browser at least once an hour to ensure that you're getting the most up-to-date scoop possible.

24
Season 7 postponed until January '09.

30 Rock
Expected to shoot 5 new episodes to begin airing on April 10.

Aliens in America
Eight pre-strike episodes remain and will air March 2 to March 23 and April 27 to May 18.

Army Wives
Season 2 debuts in June.

Back to You
Two pre-strike episodes remain. Expected to shoot up to 8 additional episodes, the first of which airs April 16.

Battlestar Galactica
Returns April 4 with first half of 20-episode final season. Production on second half could start as early as March. Airdate for those TBD.

The Big Bang Theory
Expected to shoot 9 new episodes to begin airing on March 17.

Big Love
Expected to go into production on Season 3 in the spring. Airdate info is TBD.

Expected to shoot 6 new episodes to begin airing on April 4.

No new episodes expected this season, although a special one-hour series finale is being discussed.

It occurs to me that since many of you had never heard of Audra McDonald before "Private Practice," you may not be aware of her voice--or rather, her Voice. Because her speaking voice gives no clue to the Julliard-trained vocal instrument within. Take a listen--this is Audra singing "I Could Have Danced All Night" from "My Fair Lady."

As it turns out, all moderators here will be leaving once new moderators are found. Unfortunately, we just do not have the time and/or interest this community deserves. The current moderators will be available to answer any questions and to help the new moderators get situated in their new roles once chosen.

Due to a lack of interest in the show and/or a lack of time to devote to the community, three of the four moderators here are stepping down. We still enjoy the community, but it's obvious to us that someone else can do better with the community. So with that said, we're hunting for 1-2 new people to come on and help run/maintain the community. If this interests you, please read under the cut for information on how to apply.

The Requirements
01. Obviously you must be a member of the community and a fan of the show.
02. You must be able to work well with others. You will be joining a moderator group that will be 2 to 3 strong.
03. It's preferred that you be a member who posts in the community (at least at times!). Comments in the episode posts & other posts DO count. :) If you typically only post in comments please let us know when you apply.
04. You must have the time to maintain the community.
04. Be able to be fair in judging posts and what is and isn't allowed as stated in community rules. No favoritism.
05. Preferable: prior moderating experience (whether at a forum or a LJ community). This is not necessary but is definitely a plus.

What you'll do as a moderator:
Pretty much everything from approving/denying posts, to moderating comments, tagging entries, and on. You'll share equal responsibilities with your co-mods/owners.

"Private Practice," a spinoff of ABC's hit medical drama "Grey's Anatomy," chronicles Dr. Addison Montgomery's (Kate Walsh) new life in Los Angeles. It has averaged 13.4 million viewers and a 5.1 rating/13 share among adults 18-49, ranking as the top program on Wednesday night in the coveted demographic for the past four weeks.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter)- Two freshman series, ABC's drama "Private Practice" and CBS' comedy "The Big Bang Theory," received full-season pickups Thursday.

ABC and CBS ordered nine additional episodes of each series, bringing the total for "Practice" and "Big Bang" to 22 episodes.

Additionally, CBS ordered nine additional episodes of the military drama "The Unit," which returned for a third season this fall with a 13-episode pickup.

Meanwhile, "The Big Bang Theory" has been a solid new addition to CBS' Monday night comedy block. The sitcom, starring Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco, has averaged 9 million viewers and a 3.6/9 in adults 18-49 in its Monday 8:30 p.m. slot. It has built onto its "How I Met Your Mother" lead-in by 9% in adults 18-49 and 10% in viewers.

"The Unit" has averaged 11.4 million viewers and a 3.1/8 in 18-49 in the tough 9 p.m. Tuesday slot.

Kate Walsh on Being a Newlywed: 'What Do We Do Now?'

Not only does Kate Walsh have a brand new TV show (Private Practice), but she also has a brand new husband (Alex Young) – and her first weeks of marriage have been filled with living, loving, learning... and picking up dog poop.

"There was this kind of funny moment, after we were like we're married and all of the hoopla was over and we were like, 'What do we do now?'" Walsh tells Ellen DeGeneres on her show Tuesday. "We're married. Alright, I guess we just live and love and learn from each other."

The 39-year-old actress wed Young, 36, a production co-president at 20th Century Fox, over Labor Day weekend in the town of Ojai north of Los Angeles.

The star tells DeGeneres that she's been married for five weeks but soon corrected herself. "Actually five and a half weeks," she says.

DeGeneres then complimented the actress on her wedding ring, and Walsh couldn't hide her excitement. "Thank you," she says giggling. "It was a gift from my husband."

She also jokingly offered the massive diamond to DeGeneres as a token of appreciation for her success. "I think I'm pretty responsible for your job," DeGeneres says.

But it's not all glitz and glamour for the actress, who turns 40 this week. Walsh admits she still gets down and dirty. "Basically everything's the same except that we have a bigger house. I still pick up my own dog poop," she tells the talk-show host.

"You just can't ask someone to do that. I can't. People are like, 'Listen there's a service.' I'm like, I can't in good faith," she says. "It's a good exercise in humility. You just got to get down there."

"There's nothing like a picture of me in the backyard holding up a bag of poop," she jokes.

Last Night's Ratings!

Week two of ABC’s Private Practice was first in the demo (4.5/11) and second in total viewers, with 12.29 million. Compared to its debut one week earlier (Viewers: 14.41 million; A18-49: 5.2/13 on Sept. 26), that was a loss of a typical 2.12 million viewers and 13 percent among adults 18-49.
