Well, we've finally done it. Pour Porter now has its own site:
http://pourporter.com
We're still in the process of archiving all of the entries from the community, but I will be updating at the new site from now on. We will be making the site accessible as a feed so that you can still read it from your friends list. More info to come.
Happy Holidays everyone!

Has it really been almost two months since I last posted?! I blame this on the holidays. Anyways, I was hoping my next post would be on the new site, but we’ve had a little delay that should be cleared up in the next few days. I know I keep saying, ‘coming soon!, coming soon!’ but I really mean it!
Just so you don’t think I’ve gone an abandoned the community here is a post for today:

I’ve featured Magda Berliner on here many times before and she’s still one of my favourite independent designers. Her Fall 07 collection is featured above. It’s good to see that she’s still using lace for many of her pieces, even though it’s no longer the latest trend.
How excited was I to see character shoes on her and the model’s feet? I’ve had character shoes on my what-to-wear list since last year-really! Ah, synchronicity.

Brooklyn store Gargyle, channels the old-fashioned country club lifestyle when choosing the clothing and accessories to carry, but really, they just stock a lot of great basics from some well known and not so well known independent designers.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In other news, pourporter.com should be up and running in the next month, and I’m pretty excited about that!

Vancouver designer, Sunja Link derives inspiration from Swedish design when she designs her self-titled line. Soft, pretty, and simple pieces dominate her collections, but the clothing isn’t boring.
Online shopping coming soon.

Shopping Paris Mode is an online French boutique that carries a nice, little selection of mostly French labels. They ship worldwide, and again I’m limited on time so I’ll see if I can go back later to update with prices.

This community has been in existence since April 10, 2005. This community has not yet been launched as a separate website, but will be shortly. This community is in no way affiliated with any other sites and I want to make that very clear. I am sole creator of the name and its association.

Swedish shop, Mint&Vintage, specialize in carrying lesser known, predominantly Swedish and European designers, along with hand-picked vintage pieces.
They ship all over the world so if something strikes your fancy you can order it. If I find time later, I’ll do the conversion and post the prices in dollars.

Hats are big this season, particularly ones in engineer, beret, and fedora shapes. walz caps offers the traditional cycling cap in a variety of fabrics and colours so it’s easy to reference the trend without looking like a sheep; in other words, it’s a nice alternative to the same three silhouettes everyone is currently offering.

A favourite designer of mine that I've featured a few times before, Nicholas K. channels dark and stormy with the Fall 07 collection.
You can purchase select pieces from tobi and Le Train Bleu.
And yeah, I'm back for real now!
