Unspeakables. Secret-Keepers. The Forbidden Forest. Taboos. There is power in things that cannot be named or spoken. The Potter books undertake a gloriously multifaceted exploration of this concept, a series of thematic variations that run the gamut from mischief to dread to the sublime. Today, we take a hard look at unspeakable horror. ( Male aggression against women is my literary boggart. )

Hey Potterdelphia!
Just wanted to invite you all over to your neighbor state for our Crystal Ball! I hope we can convince a few of you to come into town for it! It'll be a lot of fun and we're going to have some great food, music, dancing, and I'm sure moshing to "Party Like You're Evil"! We're featuring DJ Evil D, Draco and the Malfoys and The Whomping Willows (who we are trying to convince to write a song for Ohio... since we're all so jealous you guys got a song!!!) This is your chance to get all dressed up and enjoy a fantasy ball and make a few new friends in the hp fandom!

The Remus Lupins is joined by the Whomping Willows and the Moaning Myrtles, and of course potterdelphialj will be there. Check out our event page to see who'll be there!

So many other LJ communities have been dealing with spoilers and spam users, and I've decided that from now until after the book release (perhaps an additional week or two) this Potterdelphia community will be moderated. Users must be accepted as members, and only members can post. All posts will also be moderated.
I hate to be a bad sport here, but unfortunately I accidentally saw a spoiler and I don't want that to happen to anyone else! I don't want to know anything about what's going to happen in Book 7 until I have it in my hands; I know there are others who feel the same.

The Winter Feast and the Yule Ball (Philly) are fast approaching now!
