First, a comment on Chapter 6: I noticed this evening that the paragraphs got messed up on that chapter as well, when I was posting. Apologies again. It's been fixed, and if the readers of this tale should want to go back and check it out, I would love that. Now, on to the final chapters:

Summary of Chapter 8:   A swordfight, a revelation and a character death.

Summary of Chapter 9:   Is the relationship dead? Or is it full speed ahead? Are they just a bit miffed...or is it a permanent rift? Will their new love bloom?  Or does the ending spell doom? OK, I'll stop with the corny rhymes now.

Sorry for getting chapter 4 of "Oedipus Jack" garbled. My computer is not feelin' the love for lj cuts, and somehow I ended up with a couple of paragraphs switched at the end. That short paragraph at the end of Ch. 4 is supposed to be before the paragraph in which Jack goes up the stairs and leaves. I fixed it.

Posting Chapter 2 on Sparrabeth was an even bigger fiasco, with whole sections out of order....luckily they were under separate LJ cuts so I think the readers were able to read it in order. I hope so.

Author's Notes: The idea to situate young John Teague in Ireland sprang from a comment Mr. Depp made back in 2003 regarding his use of the Dublin accent as one of the inspirations for Jack's motley accent;

Summary: Stephen Maturin finds his wards have been attracted by a corrupting influence.
Author's notes: Set roughly in 1815/1816, following the entire Aubrey-Maturin series, and thus probably ages after AWE. Jack Sparrow has probably found the Fountain of Youth, if like me you set the PotC films somewhere in the early 18th century. But it's not really important. Cross-posted to
