Welcome to
This community is for those who want to know which character from Disney's Pirates of the Carribean they most resemble! As such, this community will focus on your appearance, stance, and style of dress moreso than your personality. There are already a good few PotC personality rating communities out there, so if that be where your interests lie, well hurry on, you scurvy dog! This be no place for the likes of ye!
This is NOT a community that you can be rejected from. There will be no "Hot or Not" comparisons, no rudeness, no insults, and no one will be made to feel like they aren't pretty enough. After all, who are a bunch of pirates to make such judgement calls, savvy?
That being said, the Pirate Code, as it stands! Be sure to read them ALL before posting an application. There will be a test. And most of us know what the Keeper of the Code does to those who ignore the rules...

1. Your application must be behind an LJ-cut. And be sure to batten down that html before hitting the submit button!
2. Post at least three CLEAR pictures. There will be no face-hiding, MySpace-worthy portraits aboard THIS ship, and no worry for artistic presentation. We want a good look at you! A good, head-on face shot and a body shot would fit the bill nicely, if you have them handy. Failure to follow THIS rule has a special consequence, so pull back your hair from your face, and look sharp!
3. No cosplay/costume photos for your application. That's just cheating, that is. Feel free to post them all you like once you're stamped.
4. Feel free to add any personal information you like...we'd like to know who's joining the crew! Just know it won't have any bearing on who you're stamped as.
5. You do not have to be stamped to vote on other applications. As a matter of fact, if there are other applications in line with yours, and you ain't voting, you won't get stamped. Crew's got to share and share alike. Except the monkey, of course. Vote on at least 3 other applications (or as many as are available) and you will earn your colors...er...stamp.
6. If you don't fancy the stamp you recieve, or if your appearance changes significantly, you can reapply...but you must wait at least one month to do so. Be sure to mention who you were stamped as, so you don't get that stamp again!
7. If you've voted on three other applications (or as many as there are in line, depending), then you'll likely recieve your stamp after 5 votes for a character, or a week, depending on which comes first. This may change as the community grows.
8. BE NICE. Anyone making rude comments is going to walk the plank. I shouldn't have to elaborate on this.
9. No nudies. Keep it like the movie...PG-13 for the kiddies amongst us.
10. Stick around after you're stamped, why don't you? Icons to share? Stories to tell? Costume ideas? Bring 'em! So long as they're PotC related...and yes. If your community is PotC/stamping related, you can promote, too.
11. You get more votes with more members. So promote like MAD. And by the way, there's a crucial piece of information you must add to your application in order to be stamped, and it's right below the character listing.
12. NO SPOILERS FOR AWE. Someone will end up bitching about it, and we don't need the drama llamas about. Contain yourselves, please.
13. The captain (mod, head, whatever you want to call us) and his assisting crew are human, and as such, perfectly capable of making mistakes or being wrong. If you have a suggestion to make, or don't agree with a condition of the community, you may respectfully bring it to our attention, that we may deliberate, take it into consideration, and make a decision accordingly. This IS a proper crew. Everyone will have their say, and no one's opinion will be shut out, so long as it is constructive and, again, respectful. Even barely-restrained civility will suffice.
What will NOT be permitted is disrepecting the captain, or any of your crewmates. Name-calling, deliberately trying to be rude, snide, or catty, throwing a fit because you didn't get a stamp you wanted, or don't agree with something in the rules, or because you didn't follow the rules and don't think you should have to because you're somehow above that sort of thing, and storming out in a huff are NOT the proper ways to solve any problem. Work with us, and we'll work with you. A person who can't do that shouldn't be part of a community in the first place. Communities being about working together by their very nature. Savvy?
Keep in mind that when you vote, you're taking in not just outward appearance, but also dress style, and expressions. It's the whole package, lovelies, not just the wrapping paper.

Captain Jack Sparrow

...and more may be added, by suggestion and those who can supply proper pictures for stamps.
Additionally, those who do not read the rules, and do not put the animal mentioned in said rules in their subject line in some manner, shape, or form will automatically be stamped as "Undead Pirate #3" for their inattention. Just a little incentive, y'might say.
