| About: | Background and Plot: In the year 1640, piracy has reached its peak. Pirates are more successful in their plundering. With the new pirates taking to the sea- seeking to make a name for themselves- fights start breaking out over land and at sea to claim the title of the most feared pirate. These battles were made to destroy chances of other pirates’ dreams. Over a period of a month, the death toll rose tremendously causing the pirate captains to get together and declare four cities no-man lands: North City, South City, East City, West City. The four cities of no man land are filled with taverns, shops, blacksmiths, and whorehouses. On these lands and by the shores of these lands no pirates were allowed to fight. If fights broke out the law would be immediate death. The four cities called no-man’s land would be used to restock ships and rest for the pirates. North City is shared between Seigaku, Hyotei, and Fudomine. The members of those ships- as well as those who hold alliances with the three ships- are welcome in the port city with open arms. South City is under the dominion of Rikkai alone. East City is controlled by Higa, Shitenhouji, and Jyousei Shounan. West City is maintained by Rokkaku, St. Rudolph, and Yamabuki. While these cities are open to all pirates and their crews, the city is most hospitable to the pirates who maintain control of their shores. Outsiders often find the cities to be unfriendly and even hostile. There can be no fighting in the cities, but that doesn't mean wicked words and cold shoulders aren't common. Each ship holds a Captain, First Mate, and their scurvy crew. These members can include slaves, sailors, gypsies, runaways, or just regular people wanting to be apart of the world of pirates. Many ships will make alliances with other ships; while others will work on breaking those alliances. Some people will be only in alliances to stab other members in the backs or to eventually take over as the dominant pirates. As the pirates rose in power, the government became much more aware of the illegal activities of the men who roamed the high seas. The troops sent out to sea, in hopes to fight the pirates, grew in number, as did the spies they hoped to use to infiltrate the pirate ships. The legal government of the lands hoped to gain knowledge of the pirate's secrets that would eventually lead to their capture and damnation. More Info: Each week, or maybe even twice a week, there will be updates on weather conditions, ships leaving with gold, news on legacies that could lead to big treasure or danger.
