Anyone up for a mini package trade?
I've got some stuff worth trading out (a couple of buttons, cute erasers, some stationary pads I don't use, etc) and, well, I'm in the mood for some mail :)
Only really looking for one or two people at the moment. (Bonus in if you live in Hawaii. I have a Thing for Hawaii.)

On top of everything I get a letter from my little sister in county jail (just turned 18). She got arrested for sale of heroin, theft, identity theft, credit card fraud and conspiracy to sell.
She's in county jail right now, but they'll be moving her in a couple of months to Federal Prison and she's facing up to 10 years.
She's had a really tough life and has been living on the streets since she was 14 (when our dad died).. so if anyone feels up to sending her a postcard or a letter to cheer her up, and let her know she's not alone, or just any sort of encouragement.
Her address of right now is.. Kelly Klika #1766796 11705 South Alameda St. Lynwood, CA 90262 Module 3100/48 Lower
Xposted a little. I apologize.

I'm always so exited about the numerous beautiful images I come across on the Internet each day that I want to share them with my friends. It's not a big deal to twitter a link or to send an image by e-mail. But now I've found a much more attractive and creative way to share a captivating picture with my friends. Any image that is found on the web can be easily send to any place in the world by the real mail with the help of an online service Hazelmail. It's a wonderful way to let the people know you're thinking about them, share your travel photos or congratulate them on a special occasion. The printed version of the chosen image or photo reaches the recepient and is framed or sticked to a fridge in virtually no time. With the help of such service it's even possible to send postcards that can no longer be found in the stores. So, in a few words, you can make your a postcard according to your own design and send it right from this website.

11:20 pm - just saying hi.

Hello. I notice the www.postcardx.net site is down again and that this community is only sporadically updated. Even so, I got a few responses last year when I was on the site and would like to try again. I only stopped due to weirdness in my life back then. So, I am posting my address here in case anyone wants to exchange some cards/letters. I've wanted a pen pal since grade school, but never really tried to get one till now. I tried joining www.sendsomething.net, as many old postcardxers have suggested, but the site won't let me join.
Anyway, hope anyone reading this is doing well in the new year and that we all have great fortune as the days pass by.

5:52 pm - French Postcard Artist Needs Help
|

Check out this story:
Should posting the image below lead to three years of jail time and $100,000 in fines?
I first encountered this on R6XX's blog (check out R6XX - they sell art and books and a bunch of cool stuff), and I've been sending the story to as many mail art groups as I know. I sent it to Wooster Collective (the first link in this post), and I'm glad to see they've picked it up. I've also sent it to PostSecret and Boing Boing, and I hope they'll post it too.
I know I send collage postcards through the mail, and this story really struck a chord with me. Please pass it on, to all the mail artists you know - especially people in France, since the outcome of this case will affect them directly.

12:59 pm - Leaving the Community

I am leaving the community just because not many people are active on this community. I am also part of Postcardjunky and Love4Postcards. Most of the people that I communicate via postcards belong to either of these sites.
If you are a member of this community and not either of the previous listed I have no issue with still exchanging. I would rather enjoy it.
Thanks for all the fun.

10:11 am - POSTAL TRAFFIC
|

smellingtrees

i don't know if anyone checks this journal anymore since postcardx.net is dead, but i want to let everyone know about POSTAL TRAFFIC!
i just created this site and was obviously inspired by postcardx.net. it made me terribly sad that it died because it was so simple and brilliant.
my goal is to make POSTAL TRAFFIC just as big and internationally viewed as postcardx, but even better if it could get bigger.
it is super easy to participate. just check out www.postaltraffic.com and find info on the right about "postal traffic".
please let everyone know about this!
thanks and happy new year!
sincerely, sinoun.
