| looking for a roomate situation |
[Jul. 8th, 2009|12:37 pm] |
I'm a 30 yr old male looking for a place in PDX/vancouver for Me and My dog. We are both easy going, I can pay rent every month and I'm looking for a situation that is lifestyle friendly, with the possibility of bringing an entire dungeon to the house, although that's not set in stone. I have no problems making rent and I'm 420 friendly. My dog is a 90 lb black lab that is VERY well trained and comes with stellar pet references thanks for any consideration Master Arch |

| Novice to rope-play seeking more experience, like-minded locals |
[Apr. 22nd, 2009|07:30 am] |
Hello all, long-time lurker here, and long time "observer" both here and back east in Atlanta. I'm feeling a growing urge lately to work on fulfilling a longtime desire of mine: expanding my knowledge of role-play from its current novice level. As a long-term project, I would love to get into heavier role play and even later into suspension. I've never put any points into the rope use skill (har har) and lately have felt a strongly increasing desire to become more skilled. I've read books, yeah, but I've always been a visual and even more so a cooperative learner.
Are there are local workshops or meetups that discuss and explore this subject? I've been here almost five years, but am only now really finding myself wanting to get back into whatever exists as a local scene, at least as far as ropes and such are concerned. Recent circumstances in the last several months of my life have fallen into place to make exploring such an interest very encouraged. I would love, love, love to meet some locals and chat about things, and expand my knowledge and understanding of this particular interest of mine. |

| moving to portland (though maybe eugene) |
[Feb. 24th, 2009|12:07 am] |
I've played around with power dynamics a little with exes (blackmail was particularly interesting), and just had my wrists tied for the first time last night :D :D.
My issue is that far too often people into BDSM seem to rely on the appearance of the situation, rather than the underlying psychology. Personally, I couldn't imagine doing much of anything interesting (or having it impact in that great pain/pleasure snowcrash confusion) with someone I didn't have a certain amount of love/trust/respect/etc. for. My friend suggested that most people use bdsm as a means of disconnecting emotionally... which I hate! Is that the case? Should I just look for a "bossy girlfriend"? :P
Also, if I were to maybe suspend my prejudice and actually check out "the scene," where in Portland would I go? |

| Fetish Question -- Niche Content & the US Market |

| | "Sensitivity," by New Edition | ] | I had an attorney friend ask me these questions recently and I agreed to pass them along to see what others think:
1) What fetish niche content, ideally produced OUTSIDE of the United States, would still exist even if there were no US market for it?
2) What fetish niche content, ideally produced OUTSIDE of the United States, HAS a US market?
Do not include anything containing minors, animals, scat, or non-consensual violence. Said attorney proposed the shibari niche.
We are especially interested in niches whose following dates to before 1995.
Thanks! |

| vegan flogger? |
[Nov. 23rd, 2008|10:24 pm] |
| [ | mood |
| | curious | ] | I'm in the market for a novice-level flogger. I did a lot of research on it at the end of last year, but went vegan in april and have come to a bit of a wall.
The issue I'm having is that most floggers tailored to the (low) level of severity that I'm seeking are made of leather. I want something which will act like a flat lashed leather flogger, but not be actual leather. Canvas or vinyl will be too hardcore at this point. I'm thinking something of the faux-suede variety, but am having trouble finding a venue for such a thing online as I'm not even sure what material (man-made or otherwise so long as it's not animal-derived) will fit the bill. I have a narrow woven-cotton belt which is about the right type of material, but I'm not sure if/where I can find something like that in a pre or custom made flogger.
Any musings/thoughts on the subject would be helpful, even if you're just brainstorming.
