Just a quick post to let everyone know that sign-ups for Round1 of trail_hunter are now open here.


trail_hunter is the Hunter x Hunter equivalent of blind_go and subrosa_tennis. For Round 1, sign-ups will run to the end of the month, and fics will be due in on the 30th of November.

Some great authors have signed-up already, which I'm really encouraged to see. More, of course, would always be wonderful! *makes pleading eyes at the f-list* branchandroot? lysapadin? stickmarionette? lucathia_rykatu? Do you wanna play?

it's like it's been hollowed out of my soul. all i can see right now is bad, lonely, frustrating, degrading, hurtful, and empty. i feel like there's nothing good left. i'm sick of this void inside me. i don't know if it's the bipolar, i don't know if it's being alone, i don't know if it's because i'm not wanted. it's just there, eating a vacant sphere into my being. i want it to go away, but i don't know how to get contentment back.

I have to admit that this is more for my edification than any pretense at concrit; I don't even promise I'll end up reviewing all 21 subrosa fics simply because I'm incredibly lazy that way. Only question is whether my jottings will be behind filter-lock like the bg ones were or out in public where they can happily offend people. So, *appeals to people*, whad'dya think?

1) Fics are up. A good range of stories, many solidly written. A few very well written. Really strong round overall. I'll do my authorly duty and start leaving my comments on fics at some point, but don't quite have the concentration at the moment.

2) I bunnied two fics this round! *smirks at thephoenixboy and giving_ground* Also managed to spot lysapadin and branchandroot (and probably trixie_chick's, I think her writing style stands out more in Tenipuri because this fandom is more heterogenous in terms of writing styles), and betaed aiwritingfic. Which pretty much cleans out all my usual suspects, so I'm probably not going to participate in official guessing.

As an aside, discovered umarekawareru's fic via bullying Cunning Networking. Which completely cleans out my list of suspects as far as guessable writers go, really.

3) Yes, this is my guessing post! I don't even know how to offer guessing hints on this one, since nobody seemed to have much luck with spotting my blind_go fic other than aiwritingfic, and this one is probably harder to spot than the bg fic. (Still, given that only the gen fics are in the running...)

I was brushing my teeth to get ready for bed (since it was nearly midnight) and Logan seized the opportunity to grab a sock that belongs to Jess and run downstairs with it, so I had to chase him with my toothbrush still in my mouth, making incoherent Frankenhumanmonster noises.

I did eventually manage to recover the sock!

Bloody head bulge thingy, I can feel it like a worm or something in there. It's the kind of thing that you'd almost think is alive except on antibiotics a bacterial infection would go away, not appear... so is it something that bacteria were keeping at bay which now grows unchecked? CANCER? I fucking don't know, lol. I should ice that bitch. I have this growing fantasy about jabbing a boiled needle in there to see what comes out, how gruesome. I feel more like Stein-kun every day... speaking of which SHINIGAMI CHOPPU! Medusa+Stein is such mega-love... and smiley tying up Zaraki to prevent a Byakuya duel early on is also interestin'.

But anyway, Futatsu no Kishi... WAY FUCKING SAD. The neat thing about this anime is its packed full of fan service, but still gets you twinged. The first and second had a different nature, the first had a leading camera type approach, always having things offscreen slightly, it was very creative. The second didn't do that, but had more blatent stuff like sailor fuku and catgirl stuff. The only thing is it kept foreshadowing them. In fact, the fuku was shown on season 1 opening but didn't show up until 2, and the cat kept being shown before she even cosplayed/fursuited one. Which makes me think, what era was the first Gandalfr from anyway? Did it have catgirls back then? I'd assumed it was WW2 but maybe it was later...

Speaking of which, mega harry potter reference at first, though less over time... and I guess LotR, especially with a mega-elf chick showing up to save the two heroes from doom. I had thought it would get really fucked up like it was the ring who brought them back but it seems another (creature?) has the power over life and death... unless that's an illusion shown by a more creative female master of the ring versus stupid curly count dude who sucked and wasn't creative with his messing with males...

That would actually be a really fucked up twist, it'd be two horrible if those two were under the thumb of Albion... speaking of which, why is it called Albion again? Didn't it get renamed? Did that change because the group was wiped out? Who does that lady work for? I must see Princess no Rondo! But... Ayu!!!

Or panime... either way the vowel order can't be maintained for a portmanteauh, eh well.

So like, there's a bus strike and I was running home but I tripped on something, I think I know where because there's a hole in the sidewalk. So anyway, I got 3 or 4 holes on my left back of hand (it's basically 3, but technically 1 has this separate sort of part which is like 4) and I stopped at a restaurant on the way home to wash it. I could have stopped earlier but it wasn't a chain restaurant, felt too privately owned or family type so I felt strange thinking of going in, but a chain is less personal and more inviting that way. I felt guilty hogging the bathroom's hot water and air so I had a chicken wrap.

I want to try their junoir burger combo for the same price... and overall, it is high time I went back to that place. I've changed so much since the past incident after all. Plus in her recent commercials she is so... charming! haha.

But anyway, the damn thing got infected. So I have to take an antibiotics regime now. It makes me feel weird. I had a cream upgrade too. I had also torn my elbow which dries better since I don't wash it as much as my hands. But after my shower last night (I had been avoiding showering since I wanted the elbow scab to dry out) it was gooey and when I was rubbing the cream in there a bunch of bloody puss came out of it, it was really gross. After a good's night sleep it dried out again, this time much flatter so I think it may have been a good thing, like I cleaned out some waste or something. It wasn't really bloody blood so I think it was somewhat wastey and needed to get out of there. Painful and stuff but bearable.

Preceded by an Hdoujin it was coincidentally mentioend to me the 'Zero' title which I'm watching now. During the 'downtime' (cam chatrooms take way too much bandwidth! I owe money!) I watched 'Magikano' and 'Ichigo Mashimaro' which were both very good anime, though Ichigo certainly had the edge due to... well... so I finally know where that one scene where pigtails is chased around the table is from, finally. I certainly really like the older sister though, I feel like I can relate to her and stuff :) Even though she's a girl...

Tried to get into X and Pretear but they did not have the correct feel. Catching up in Naruto is cool, seems less new Bleach due to a schedule change and no doubles. Asumaaaaa!!! No... so I need to take Judo or something for an excuse to learn japanese. I would feel like if I say I learned it just for liking anime it'd be weird but if I took a martial art and said something like "oh, it seemed interesting when I was learning it for this martial art" it'd be way cooler! Except nowhere here teaches Judo... I wonder if Kendo is japanese sword and fencing is french sword, if Judo is japanese martial art (better than Aikido right?) then would Savate be the closest french? TKD is korean and Karate is Okinawan, and Kung Fu is chinese... I can't forget the russian sambo or the greek wrestling or others either...

( so, I have no idea what these poems are about, but they are brilliant anyway )

Bob contacted me the other day, we're on good terms now.  i'm excited that we're friends again. i haven't been in contact with Jay. oh well. i don't understand him, and i'm honestly still a little pissed at him.
all in all, life is pretty good. i love living with my boys! sometimes i wish it was just me and Ian, simply because space is limited, and we're the ones who take initiative around the house. but, whatcha gonna do?
so Mac and i are out here in indianapolis visiting our Meg. we went to the renfair today, and the zoo is on schedule for tomorrow. whee! zoo!
any way, i'm sorry i've not been on much here, things have been crazy, and i haven't had the internet at home. but, i guess that's all.

I'm going with Ken to a medical appointment this afternoon, so I'll be away from the computer for a few hours, but the major focus of the day will be getting ready to enjoy the Vice-Presidential debate tonight. I'm hoping to be able to watch with Ken and Jess on the big-screen TV upstairs.

I wonder if I can find genuine Moosehead beer for that drinking game .....

f-list cut, but mainly dead journals and a few people I have never, ever talked to. if you are in fact, alive, and just haven't been posting for whatever reason, please drop a line and I'll gladly re-add! similarly, if we have never talked or haven't talked in a long time and I've just forgotten who you are, do introduce/re-introduce yourself and I'll be equally happy to re-add.

Won't be adding back automatically after today though, because I'm horrible with commenting on other people's LJs and I want to give the people who are on the f-list (reading list, whatever) the assurance that I am reading and keeping track of their journals. (well, aside from the too-frequent AWOL periods, anyway.)

Happy birthday today to justpapabear, one of the very few of my LJ friends who is actually older than I am. :-)

Also, Rosh Ha-Shanah, the Jewish New Year, begins tonight, so a happy New Year to all who celebrate it!

There are so many beautiful places in Second Life - and so many beautiful places in real life, too. Instead of trying to make my av look more like Krystle, I've given up on trying to re-create the piercings and other trappings she used in life, and I'm imagining her just being as peaceful and beautiful as she could ever want to be. I hope that she is truly enjoying freedom and peace.

I was trying to post here from blogHUD this morning, but it wasn't working and I do need to get out of here for a mother-visiting day, so I'm just uploading this one picture here.

Today I'm going to remember Krystle in the way I hope she would want to be remembered, with positive thoughts of the beauty that she brought into our lives.

OK, I know, gotta go shower, dress and run down to Albany to see the mothers, but ....

Although I can't "save" or help or change anyone but myself, I can BE changed. I remember today that I have been changed, and that it is good.
