Thrifty Bagels!
There's a question involved in this post but here's the information that hopefully someone will find as helpful as I did! I was craving bagels but have a tendency to make things myself. After a bit of searching, I stumbled across this awesome recipe. So easy and a surprisingly small amount of household ingredients are needed. So far I've made basil pesto bagels and apple cinnamon bagels. Both absolutely delicious! Whatever you got hanging around, just toss it in! A squishy banana? Maybe an old tomato? Or how about sesame seeds? The possibilities are endless! It's fabulous! Makes about 5 to 6 bagels, depending how big or small you like them. Here we go:
Tasty Thrifty (Vegan!)Bagels:
-1 cup warm water
-3 cups flour (I used whole wheat, but I'm certain white or any other flour would work just as well)
-1 1/2 teaspoon yeast (I've used more with no negative effect)
Mix all ingredients together and leave it alone for about 20 minutes. Then rip off chunks and shape into bagels (don't forget the hole!) Let them rest again on a greased or floured pan for 15 minutes. Then dunk each bagel into boiling water for about a minute or so on each side. Place back on the cookie sheet and put them in a preheated 350 degree oven for 25-30 minutes. Then sit back and stare at them in dumb-struck awe. Or place in mouth (after they've cooled!)
Now here's my question. How can I store them? Putting them in a bag and then into the pantry has me worried about humidity. Sticking them in the fridge has the same concern. What can I do to make them last?

Edit to add: These new-fangled techno gadget dealies blow my mind. Please feel free to comment (on the bagels, not my inability to use a computer!)
