And it is here:

http://biliousbale.blogspot.com/

If your response to this statement is "Who?" -- and this is a fairly likely thing -- start here. Google will give you the impression that he played for the Kansas City Royals, which is a pretty hilarious mental image, but a sadly inaccurate one. Rather, he was an English Reformer and historian, and is probably best known for being the author of King Johan, the first history play in English (it is kind of like a morality play only with historical figures in it). He was cranky and staunchly interested in sodomy (writing about it, not engaging in it, though who knows what he got up to in his spare time. NB also that he thought that in the right circumstances not having sex could also be sodomitical).

(He also has an RSS feed at [info]biliousbale.)

Also, [info]kip_w is writing Toon River Anthology (part two is here), and it is awesome. Possibly funnier if you read the Comics Curmudgeon, but if you have any familiarity at all with the dreck that blights comics pages across North America, it is worth a read. The pastiche is spot on.

Went to the mall with [info]doombuggie. Whee! A social activity! I got to show off my cutting, and really truly malls are more fun when you go with someone. We hit up the candy shop (overpriced) and I got some bubble bath at Bath & Body Works (Japanese Cherry Blossom and Sensual Amber) but the big event of the evening was at Earthbound.

[info]doombuggie got a hermit crab.

It's huge. And the shell is lovely. [info]doombuggie intends to set up a webcam. I of course called Rule 34 on it.

[info]jennywho, I have a package for you! We should, like, do lunch or something while we sniff.

Now I buy from this company semi-regularly, and I do like supporting independent labels and artists, but the choice of buying verses burning is a false one, and can seem to imply that burning is bad, even if you already payed for the tracks (whether its via download or CD). And while I am more than happy to pay up for more CD's from their darkwave catalog again, I really don't need a moral lecture every time I visit Projekt's or any other music-related website, nor do prospective customers. Emphasis on the positive than the negative may be a better way to entice consumers in to buying your products, especially when it comes to non-essential luxury items in this economy (at least in my opinion).

This set of questions comes from the lovely [info]likeadeuce. You know the drill by now, but for the sake of form, the instructions:

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you 5 questions.
3. You should then update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You should include this and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed you should ask them 5 questions.

Comment away, but if you want questions, go here, since I am still working through the last set of requests.

[music |Sredets Chamber Choir -- "Svetisja"]

Apparently it is National Poetry Day in the UK, and since many of my British friends have posted poetry for the US National Poetry Month, and furthermore it is always a good time for poetry, here is a poem. The theme this year is "Work," so here is one that is appropriate.

A processe or an exortation to tendre the chargis of the true husbondys
(better known as "God Speed the Plough")

English, late 14th c.

As I me walked over feldis wide
When men began to ere and to sowe,
I behelde husbondys howe faste they hide,
With their bestis and plowes all on a rowe.
I stode and behelde the bestis well drawe
To ere the londe that was so tough;
Than to an husbond I sed this sawe,
"I pray to God, spede wele the plough."

The husbondys helde up harte and hande,
And said, "That is nedefull for to praye,
For all the yere we labour with the lande,
With many a comberous clot of claye,
To mayntayn this worlde yf that we maye,
By downe and by dale and many a slough.
Therfore it is nedefull for to saye,
'I praye to God, spede wele the plough.'

"And so shulde of right the parson praye,
That hath the tithe shefe of the londe;
For our sarvauntys we moste nedis paye,
Or ellys ful still the plough maye stonde.
Than cometh the clerk anon at hande,
To have a shef of corne there it growe,
And the sexten somwhate in his hande.
'I praye to God, spede wele the plough.'

The kyngis purviours also they come, To have whete and otys at the kyngis nede... )

Ok heres whats going on the 19th.

REGIONAL WAR PRACTICE

its local (lakeville). No site fees. No auth needed but experience here applies towards your authorizations for those of you who need to auth still.
Its a chance for the Spartans to band together and fight as a team and in line. Its a chance to fight with and see how we fit into the rest of the Kingdom when we all go to war. Its a chance to learn from others.

we were not invited because we are one of the kingdom's war units, we were invited PERSONALY because we are Sparta and the host is our Byzantine friend. I dont want the Kingdom expecting a lot from us if were not ready to deliver yet So it would be nice to actually have a good showing.

So are we going?
It depends on if we can muster enough soldiers. Again I dont want to have the kingdom expecting the warband at an event like this and then getting the impression we are just one or two fighters. If we dont act like a cohesive unit then we will be simply placed in other lines just to fill in numbers. Otherwise we will be given key objectives and battle plans that influence a wars outcome. I know, iv seen this with the Genji !

There will be non combat needs so dont let fighting ability affect you.
Iv already asked who needs the final bits of gear and my garage/armoury is open any day between now and then.
soo...... stand the line on the 19th ? yay or nay? yarp or narp? Youbetcha or frag off? reply to the Spartan Hoplites list please.

I have
Agamedes YES fight
Athanus NO
Telemon working on it, no firm answer yet.
Danae ?
Adrastos ?
Semele YES
Bob the Spartan NO
Nikodemus ?

Unsure of their status:

sommeilbienivre
Good morning!

This morning I walked to one of my friend's apartments to take a nap, realized I was already too awake to sleep, walked to the library, and settled in with my red bull and Loreena McKennitt on the laptop. I am planning on doing a little homework.

I am thinking about just drinking water for a while. I'm not sure how I'll do without caffeine, but I feel like I need to clean out my system. I'm tired of being thirsty for drinks that only make me more thirsty and more hungry (this applies to sugar free drinks just as much as sugared drinks). I mean, water is what God gave us, right? It must be good for me. I just don't know if I can survive the early mornings without coffee. But I'll go the rest of today only drinking water, to see if it helps.

Today is George's birthday! We are going to have wings. I got him cool but geeky presents. I hope he likes them.

The alarm did not go off this morning, but luckily George noticed the time and got me out of the house at 6:30. At least I got an extra fifteen minutes of sleep! And I managed to dress myself appropriately (light sweater, skirt, furry boots).

I feel good today, even though thursdays seem like the longest day. I have ancient tragedy, modern thought today, and while it is interesting, it's a little intense. It's literary analysis in a big way. I guess I should expect that from an english class!

Ok, I'm off to do homework.

It is not a good idea to drink coffee and eat nothing before dance practice.

Just a thought.
~McCleverly

EDIT: I didn't want to make a new post for this, but I felt the need to say it.

I have an abusive love relationship with the internet. I've been done with my homework for like an hour now, and I have literally nothing left to do on the web... but I'm still here. WHY AM I STILL HERE? Why don't I just sleep? Why can't I shake the impression that if I stare at the internet long enough, it will do something interesting? It won't!
