Dilemma

It's looking more and more likely I'm going to need to move away from my home and pond. I'm not comfortable leaving the fish behind, but I'm also pretty certain I can not bring them with me. Keeping them in aquariums over the winter was supposed to be a temporary measure while they grew and until I could get the pond fixed/upgraded. Which may never happen at this point.

I live in Indianapolis, Indiana. I am looking at needing to find homes for 3 Koi, and 15 Goldfish (ranging in size from 2" = 8"). All under a year old. All relatively healthy as near as I can tell. All fairly hardy as they have all survived moves between the pond and indoors, and in-between aquariums during these last 7 months. I am not a member of any Koi or Pond clubs or tours and these fish are not show quality (as near as I can tell).

Any help or ideas greatly appreciated. I'll know more on Tuesday- but things look kinda grim and I'm trying to start getting ducks in a row now in case I need to jump and make a move quickly over the next 30-45 days.

At that point, I may also be posting- "Hey, anyone looking to move to the Indianapolis Area? Would you like a to buy a house with an 1100 gallon (12' X 7' X 2.5' deep) lined pond on the property? Tap me."

Thanks for reading-

awww good luck, TJ is pretty active here and also has fish in his ponds, and hopefully will have better ideas for you then i do

my one thought - and i am not sure it applies where you live BUT we have a family owned store that has hmmm 9 or 12 store fronts now, and they are a garden center, tack, pet store that has some pond stuff

if it was me, i would call them and see if they knew of anyone that could take or buy the fish ya know

again good luck!

I hate it when that happens you get something you love then you have to leave it. Ive been to Indianapolis but its a good drive from here its about an hour from louisville from my house then across the river yeah wish I could take them. They could stay in the pond for a while and eat algae. or you could find some one with a farm pond or something and ask them if you could put them in there they would get huge in a farm pond. Wish I had more ideas for you.
