About:

Polyamory Southeast (PSE) is dedicated to providing support to people who believe in polyamory, polyfidelity, responsible non-monogamy, etc. This support consists of sporadic Poly Potlucks, meetings, gatherings, get-togethers, hanging out, having fun, support group meetings, etc. We seek to encourage those who are committed to a poly life, and to educate people about what polyamory is (and isn't).

To put it less formally, we're a loosely organized (very loosely--trying to herd cats comes to mind) group of folks in Atlanta and surrounding areas who are interested in polyamory, aka responsible non-monogamy. We aren't necessarily all polyamorous, or currently practicing poly lifestyles--some of us are, some aren't, and some are exploring to find out if they'd even want to do so. We have irregular gatherings that are a combination of social events, discussion/support sessions and simple networking. We welcome interested folk of all ages, genders, orientations, races, religions, etc. Most events have been somewhere in or around Atlanta.

Most communication/interaction with the group happens on our mailing list, which you can join by visiting our web site.

Posts by any poly or poly-curious person in the southeast (or moving or visiting here) are welcome. Please don't post quiz results and the like - we'd prefer to read what you have to say for yourself.

If you aren't in the southeastern US (or moving here), or posting something of IMMEDIATE interest to us specifically, don't post here. Poly conferences yes, SF&F conventions or tantra classes or pagan gathers or BDSM fundraisers, no. A poly class/track/meetup AT a con or gather would be appropriate, though. If it doesn't happen in the southeastern U.S., this isn't the place to post a notice about it.

Please observe the following guidelines:
1) Stay on topic.
2) Do not post advertisements for other communities here without prior approval from the moderator,

technomom.
3) Do not post advertisements for commercial enterprises/organizations, etc., period.
4) Put long posts behind an LJ-cut tag. Two paragraphs is a good guideline. If someone has to scroll to read your post, it should be cut tagged. If you post a graphic, it MUST be behind a cut tag. If I see posts without cut tags that should have had them, I'll delete them (because LJ won't let me edit them - the poster can, however, edit her own post.)
5) DO NOT use non-standard fonts, colors, etc. when posting to this community. It makes the posts very difficult for many of us to read.
6) Please post in English. The moderator is monolingual.
7) The community is run as a (fairly benign) dictatorship. If the owner/mods decide that a post is inappropriate, we may give the author a chance to change/remove it - or we may just delete it. Yep, the word is dictatorship. Suck it up and deal with it.

If we remember you as having been particularly annoying elsewhere, we may ban you here, whether you've already caused trouble here or not.

If you're trying to join with an ID that's just been created, has no friends, no posts, no comments - you aren't getting in, because you look like a troll. If your profile doesn't make it clear that you live in the southeastern U.S., please email the moderators when you make your membership request, letting us know why you want to join.
