Poisin_ will be closing down on DECEMBER 2ND 2005 due to inactivity and lack of members. There really isn't a point in having a community if no one is participating in it. Attention members:
Poisin will be going on a short hiatus (starting Monday) for a new layout, member list clean up, and information page updates. This community will resume NOVEMBER 12. So, please do NOT post anything until then. :) Like I said, many updates before... Monday, I'll be banning a few people. :( If you want to stay in this community, please respond to this post. Also, I'll be doing some heavy promoting during the hiatus. People can join, but applications cannot be posted until November 12th. Please, try to get as many people to join as you can. :) I'll add 100 points to your name on the scoreboard for every person you get to join. Make sure to tell them to mention you in their application so you can get those points. :)

My dad has recently become obsessed with them and would like to purchase various paraphenelia or just get general information. Does anyone have any info or links or photos or anything? ...the other day in guinea_pigs someone said something that kind of upset me and I want to know what you guys think about it....
Well, first off, pet-store guinea pigs are known to have diseases and junk because pet stores don't care for them correctly. Also, they don't separate them by sex and so the female piggies end up pregnant and if a female piggie gets pregnant before she's about 2 years old the pregnancy will kill her. but anyways,
so this girl says that she's decided against getting a pet store pig and is going to adopt one from the humane society. Now, the way I look at it, the humane society KNOWS how to care for pigs and pet store pigs need homes way more then those piggies do. I mean, we saved Gigi from the pet store (who was neglecting him horribly) and we think he has mites.. (and if he does he's probably given it to Bunny by now) but I don't regret it one bit. I mean, if we hadn't taken him he probably would have died, seeing as they seemed to be oblivious of his dry skin, scratching, and fur breaking off.
So, do you guys think it would be better get an animal from the humane society, so that it doesn't put any of your other animals at risk for illness?
...or would you rather get an animal from the pet store and save it from... well, death?
