In so far as the world moves round the sun
Stories abound such that they are spoken
In tones of joy and of comprehension
Of high and low so that they fall chosen
Among all stories, heard upon the ears
For those who would shed a tear at the sound.
This fable oft heard, gives way, yesteryears'
Assurances of delight further drowned.
What is in a name, that which holds the soul
Bound close to fate's decree, a tragedy.
Unable to cut fate's lines or cajole
Even a gladdened weave from cruelty.

Weep not for the story's veracity
As such words set down, such is its beauty.

With lost breath, so goes inspiration's fire
Like a candle snuffed out in a strong breeze.
The new life leads to believe and aspire,
A masquerade of new realities.
Strong-willed and solitary no further,
Social graces fall helplessly aside,
Yet gathering lessons from another
To know, for us, what had been prophesied.
Her face, once lighting the way in shadow,
Now lost from lust, love and warmth, gone always.
Cold chill sets in quickly, the way narrow
And to the distance, yet nothing varies.

And so in darkness, I travel for now,
Illumination from within the vow.

Darkness covered and pained limbs quiver
As the world slid away and death's caress
Lifted the soul from a shell, a shiver
Leaving room for what would come to replace
The curtain comes up and the light stabs through
Breaking the silence as feeling returns.
Sensations all overwhelmingly new
A body grows strong and constantly burns.
All seems arcane as if time standing still
Releasing burdens of life grown torpid.
The future is a road each step can kill
And the past is a road each steps sees dead.

The long years ahead will grow and mature
As life seeping through each step is the cure.

Devotion oft pierces the coldest breast,
Striking true and igniting itself on
Embers long lost at a simple request,
Waking passion's eye to a brilliant dawn.
Passion, itself, maintains constant motion
Heaping more to burn in the storm's fury.
Yet, the Muse comes for me in creation,
Passion unending, intended glory
While she remains. Though fickle as she be,
When left alone, my fire dims unbidden,
Leaving dismay, no longer may I see
Love's fire burn so bright, suddenly hidden.

With love, life remains on lofty places
While love lost presents no friendly faces.

for dean, in loving memory, and loving arms

as tear-soaked words
drip from disbelieving lips
begging the unbelievable
to be also untrue

it is not here that he exists

as each recollection
rolls weightily
down rounded shoulders
in reconciliation attempts

it is not here that he exists

even as light
slight laughter
lifts leaden heads
somehow lessening

still, it is not here that he exists

but when eyes spark
not reflecting candlelight's flick
but glowing
from far within

there he not only exits
but lives...
hugging our hearts
looks like i'm the only one posting "tonight" (4:44 am my time, make a wish). but i can't seem to sleep, so i was looking through an old lj acct, and i came across some postings from dean. a wave of warmth and sorrow washed over me (as well as more than a few tears), and i decided it best fitting to share a bit of his love with the world.

whether by choice or by chance, he's no longer with us. but, as trite as it may sounds, he will always be among us in our hearts and souls. and if he was right about the world, then he's here with me now, wishing peace and love to everyone. so, whether you knew him or not, please take a moment and share a thought, or a prayer, or just tell someone close that you love them, and in that way, dean's spirit will always live on.

"Friends are the Goddess's way of reminding us that the universe IS worth being a part of."
                                                                                                                            -Dean, '06

Thanks

Like a windchime.

Like a woodblock.

Like an alarm clock set perfectly to 4:00 in the morning is when the mocking birds start sending information in love letters through audible distances and its pollution finds my ears and feels beautiful in the pre-dawn immaculance of morning.

The temperature is perfect here. Fire flies flash silently, randomly, hoping for another lite, another connection. Someone to say I Understand.

And all the daytime things now sleeping, hidden, being, becoming. Electric lites make the hour seem unreal, surreal, as they push through my biological imperative of what darkness nite should be, reforming as whimsy in equal ratio.

This is what dreams look like
from the outside.

wait a second, hold on
i thought we loved each other
i thought this was real
i thought we were it
i thought we could be forever

wait a second, hold on
we held each other for so long that night
wrapped up in each other's arms
promised we would be together
never let go, surrended our all

wait a second, hold on
i thought you said you loved me
because i could have sworn
you told me over and over again
how you couldn't live without me

wait a second, hold on
the phone is ringing
and the caller ID
well that name isn't me
who is she?

This Must Be A Leap Year

here, there are the horrible sad sobbs left to car rides when the smallest fragment of a word sets the spark of your name to flutter against the walls of my mind. little dripplets of rain turn into a massive river of salt and water mixed, over the mountains and making their way in the valley of my throat. don't move on, please move past this.. they are just bumps in the road.. our road has highway status, its long and has no end in sight.

remember when we spoke of the what can be's? i never want to use the phrase what could have been because im holding onto hope.. i don't want my house key back, please keep the ring, the smles that are caused by me.

define happiness and i will surely find it for you, i will present it in knight of shining armor fashion, i'll have a make shift cloak made from my hoodie to throw over this river, for you to step to this prize of happiness, i know it's with me.

all girls want that nice guy, that right guy.. im the right guy at the wrong time, but wrong times seem to take up the whole calender.. i thought this was different, it had to be a leap year. im going to play the role of a manly man and not let you see me like this.. alone, scared, crying, all because of you.. instead i'll prop up smiles, present them as though the world is coming straight at me, youve always had the cutest walk.

Do you remember the summer we spent in Nice?

I remember vividly
the sun sparkling off of your teeth as you laughed at my attempt to tie my own bikini
The same teeth that would sink into my neck later
I can almost hear the waves crashing
The children playing
Your lips on my shoulder

And the storm rolled in

Lightning and thunder shattering my reality
and torrents of wind blowing me away
Whipping at high velocities and drowning me in rain

how did you manage to erase me from the picture?

The way you look at me isn't right anymore
There's nothing that says "I love you" in that gaze
I see the fury, the contempt for me
What did I do to deserve this?
Such cruelty?

Late at night, when I cry next to you
do you no longer wish to hold me?
To touch me?
Do I truly disgust you so?

I even wear your favorite perfume to sleep, in hopes that you'll touch me once more

Like you did in Nice.

I dream of saltwater and fluffy white clouds
and your teeth..those white teeth.

And I scream in my mind "why? why?"
And wait for you to respond to my silent chant...but you never do.
And you never will.

I'll slip on my little red dress...
and play the trophy wife at your dinner parties
Smile when pinched, laugh when squeezed
And utterly adore you in front of your puppets
as you do me

and as the guests file out
I slip out of my dress...and into the lonely darkness
Let you shove me away as I try to remove your dinner jacket
Let you push me to the ground when I try to bring you a glass of champagne
Let you throw me out when I try to draw a bath for you

Because..the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
And I've already hitchhiked my way to eternal damnation.

Stop surrounding me with your lies.

I keep searching your face for an answer, for an indication of recognition.
I wait for you to smile, and wrap your arms around me
Yell
something
anything

I'd rather you hit me than stare blankly at me this way

Don't you remember who I am?
I know who I'm not
Who I never could be
It was never a matter of winning you ever
It was a matter of making forget who I'm not.

Subtle, menial differences. I could take a year to list them out to you
And then kiss you under a starry sky

But I know there are no more daisies growing in that field anymore.

But I can pretend to smile
and pretend nothing's wrong
and let you pretend I'm the one that I'm not
and live a lie...if it means you'll hold me one second longer
You'll kiss me the bit more passionately
You'll fuck me harder.

But for now...I'll let this dissolve
Like a sugar cube
And let the torture begin.
