To our few members, Just wanted to let you know that the UCC offers scholarships to UCC people enrolled in a four-year university and that are under age 25. Applicants must be in their sophomore, junior, or senior year, and must be maintaining at least a C average (sophomore year) or B average (3.0 or higher; for upperclassmen). For more information please go to www.ucc.org/education/scholarships. Also, I wanted to let you know that I am currently the representative of all of the youth in the Western Region of the church (there are six regions, each holding around seven conferences) to the Council for Youth and Young Adult Ministries in the national setting of the UCC; I am also the PNCUCC Conference Liaison from this council. My responsibilities for this job envelop both youth and young adults; therefore, I ask you all these questions: 1. In your conference, church, etc., what young adult ministry exists? 2. What level of participation exists? 3. What is working? 4. How much of your conference, church, etc. budget is devoted to youth and/or young adult ministry? Please respond not to LiveJournal, but to my email address, kevinwpeterson@comcast.net. Thank you! Kevin

hi, everybody I didn't know this was here 'til Kevin emailed.
I think that should give a good hint to who I am... If not, you can check my lj info. It tells all. Well, maybe not ALL, but yeah. It's really cool to see some of you guys on here! I shall post again later, but right now I have a visitor (my Japanese roommate) and I'm pretty dead after playing a lot of baseball today.

To the few members of this blog: My name is Kevin Peterson, and I am a sixteen-year-old youth of the Pacific Northwest Conference of the United Church of Christ. Some of you may know me as the moderator of the Yahoo! Groups website for all of the youth, youth leaders, camp directors, and members of the EMC (Educational Ministries Committee) of the Conference. I hope it is alright with you if I have joined this group as a youth, not quite yet to Young Adult age. However, I will tell you that I have been working to get the word out about this website by using the Yahoo! website, as well as through Pilgrim Firs and N-Sid-Sen camps (though I have been rather unsuccessful recently). I promise you that I will continue to work to improve the young adult program in our Conference as much as I can by advocating it through our Sr. High youth that will be graduating or have graduated, through the youth leaders in the Conference churches, and through the EMC. Thank you to all of you for being so supportive of our young adult ministries program. Most sincerely, Kevin W. Peterson kevinwpeterson@comcast.net

Not too many people here just yet..
My name is Robin, and i'm a 34-year-old queer woman from Colorado Springs, Colorado, where i am a member of the First Congregational Church.
I can't say that i am a terribly exciting person, but UCC and my faith is very important to me, as God saved my life three times in the week when i attempted suicide three times. Since then i have come a long way toward becoming a whole and happier person.
If you care to know more than you wanted to about me, you can go read HERE

Okay, it doesn't look like there is anyone hooked up with this yet, but there will be...soon. You have my word. If young adults don't connect via the internet I don't know how they connect. Anyway, if someone else is out there, post!

I would like to welcome you to this community where we discuss where our life journeys are taking us, what is keeping us from following our seemingly given paths, and what affects our spiritual lives from day to day. Please feel free to post and reply, ask and discuss, inform and uplift.
Again, welcome!
