Hello, it's me, purple_ivy, just with a new journal.

Sorry for the total lack of posts in nearly a year. It's been an interesting time with me having moved cities, and now splitting my time between two cities. I've also not been able to make graphics as most of the computers I use (not my own) when I am in the other city don't have any of my resources or graphics making programmes. Sooo, I get kinda stuck!
Perhaps if the mood takes me some time soon I'll make something.

Okay, maybe not in ALL existence, but you get my point.
It was inspired by my current Winamp skin.

Screen Resolutions:		800x600 or higher
Credits:		The coding for this layout was found at thefulcrum, so I take no credit for that, only for the colour theme I've used.
Customizing:		If you want to change the colour theme, feel free to do so! A link back to plush_designs would be cool, but is not required. The only time a link is required is if you use this layout as it is here with no changes made.
Notes:		Doesn't look nice in Internet Explorer because the entry text is aligned wrong. It was working at first but now it's not. It could just be MY I.E but I'm not sure.

Directions
Go to Manage:		Customize
On the "Basics" tab:		make sure S2 is chosen from the Style System box. Click "save changes".
On the "Look And Feel" tab:		Select the following: choose "Mixit" from the dropdown menu in the Layout & Language box. choose "(Layout Default)" from the dropdown menu in the Themes box. Click "save changes".
On the "Custom Options" tab:		select the following: Layout Type: choose "Two Column (Sidebar on Right)" or "Two Column (Sidebar on Left)". Layouts

How do I install the layouts?
Each layout post has the directions on how to install that particular layout. It's conveniently named 'Directions'. If you follow them properly you should have no trouble installing a layout, but if you do then please feel free to comment on the post of the layout you want to use and ask for help. (back to top)

Do I have to upload the images to my own server?
Yes, you do.
Simply save the image to your computer then upload it to an image hosting service such as Photobucket or Imageshack. Remember to replace the URL in the layout code! (back to top)

Do I have to credit you?
If you use a layout exactly as I make it or with only minimal changes such as colours and font, then you should credit me.
If you customize a layout to the extent that the graphics, colours and fonts are changed, credit is not required but certainly is appreciated. The bottom line is that if someone else sees your layout and wants one similar they will know where to get one if you provide a credit or inspiration link. (back to top)

What's wrong with my header??
If your header isn't looking like it should it could be because the layout is dependent on something you haven't chosen to appear on your journal, like a journal title, subtitle or website. Check the 'Notes' in the 'Info' section of post for the layout you're using as it will tell you whether or not anything needs to be enabled for the layout to work properly. If there is no 'Notes' section then it means nothing needs to be enabled for it to work. (back to top)

Why does my layout look bad with the navstrip?
Because everything looks bad with the navstrip! I don't design the layouts to work with the navstrip and although some look fine with it, others do not. There isn't anything you can do about it except for either turning the navtrip off or using a different layout. (back to top)

Can I change the colours, graphics and fonts?
Of course you can! I can't help with this, but feel free to go ahead and play around using your own graphics, colour schemes, fonts and fiddle with the code in genral. (back to top)

How'd you learn to make layouts?
By finding layout codes on LJ and playing around with them. It's really been trial and error. I still don't make the whole code from scratch myself yet, because I'm lazy, but if I find a layout code I can customise and make available for others to use then I do that. I think that's how most people get started, really! (back to top)

All sources can be found here, in my resource post.
If you can't find a brush, texture, etc. you REALLY want, comment or email me and tell me which graphic the resource is used in, and what it is you are exactly looking for. I'll see what I can do.

Credits:		Texture by Elli. Background by Squidfingers, recoloured by me. Font in header is called 'Violation'. The coding for this layout was found at thefulcrum, so I take no credit for that, only for the images and colour theme I've used.
Customizing:		If you want to change the header and/or colour theme, feel free to do so! A link back to plush_designs would be cool, but is not required. The only time a link is required is if you use this layout as it is here with no changes made.

Directions
Go to Manage:		Customize
On the "Basics" tab:		make sure S2 is chosen from the Style System box. Click "save changes".
On the "Look And Feel" tab:		select the following: choose "Mixit" from the dropdown menu in the Layout & Language box. choose "(Layout Default)" from the dropdown menu in the Themes box. Click "save changes".
On the "Custom Options" tab:		select the following: click on Section: Presentation Layout Type: choose "Two Column (Sidebar on Right)" or "Two Column (Sidebar on Left)". Do not choose a three column option. click on Section: Custom CSS Use layout's "Base Weblog" stylesheet: choose "no" from the menu. Custom external stylesheet URL: leave field blank. Custom stylesheet: paste style sheet contents in this box. Click "save changes".
