| About: | Plan 9 From Cyberspace is a community completely devoted to mocking the crap movie studios churn out on a regular basis by recapping entire movies and snarking along to the stupidity. Because they can be so very, very stupid. Want to write for Plan 9 From Cyberspace? Great. So, here's the rules. -- There will be a post a week before the first of the month for anyone who would like to recap a movie for the next month. Please keep in mind that only those who sign up to write a recap will have posting access, and those who sign up MUST write their requested recap. -- Writers may request more than one movie to recap, but must remember that all movies claimed MUST be recapped by the end of the month. However, if a writer requests one movie to recap but manages to finish a recap for another movie before the end of the month, they may post it to the community as long as it has been edited and no one else has either already recapped it or calls dibs on it for the following month. -- Recaps can be posted anytime during the month, but must be properly edited before being posted to the community. PLEASE have your summary edited by a beta before posting if you know that typos and spelling will be a real problem. A few typos isn't bad. Grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors in the dozens will get in the way of the funny. -- To understand the format of Plan 9 from Cyberspace's recaps, feel free to look over the television recaps at Television Without Pity. Readers should be able to read a recap from beginning to end like a story and know everything that's going on from start to finish in the specific film in good detail. For other examples of the suggested style of recaps, you can also check out ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif){kind=small} trollprincess's Deadly Harvest recap and cleolinda's Lost recaps.-- This is not a community of film analysis or short reviews, nor are we looking for recaps of television shows. We're looking for detailed recaps of entire films, TV movies, or miniseries from beginning to end. -- Some good movies also have the possibility of generating quality snark, so if you can come up with a great, hilarious summary for a really good movie, we won't hold it against you. ;) -- Writers will be the only ones with posting access to the community. Sorry. :) -- PLEASE use lj-cuts. I mean, come on. -- If a movie has already been mocked by another writer, you can't mock it again. To verify if a movie has been mocked, links to summaries will be provided in the community memories, where they will be listed in alphabetical order. -- DO NOT bring personal disputes with other LJ members into your summaries, or use bigoted, racist, or homophobic references in your summaries. This community is meant to be for fun, not to piss anybody else off or to give anyone an excuse to act like a complete tool. Behavior of a particularly asshatted nature will result in revocation of posting privileges. -- Wank = banning. Learn it now.
