Hehe, yes this should be easier. I could only come up with 5 topics though, so I decided to get the hard one over with first, which is also why I lumped all those ideas onto the one day...I figured it might help a bit, but really it was still quite hard. The rest of the week should much better to work with. :)

Hermione let out a sigh of frustration as she shut her Herbology book. There was no hope for her finish her homework she had to much on her mind tonight. Actually her only had one thing on her mind, but that one thing had the power to take over all her
thoughts. Hermione packed her bag and made her way through the stacks of dusty books in hopes to leave the library unnoticed, but luck was not on her side tonight. Someone had noticed her walking out of the library, but he did not stop her.

Harry watched closely as Hermione made her way out of the library. He watched her intently when she dropped a spare piece of parchment and bent over gracefully to pick it up. He smiled as she brushed a few stay hairs out of her delicate face and briskly
walked out of the library. He then let out a sigh of frustration when she did leave, at least with her around he had an excuse to think about her, but now that she was not around their was. It was no use, his best friend, the bushy hair know-it-all bookworm had set up permanent residence in his brain.

Each night, just like every night Harry and Hermione dreamt of the other. It was not unusual for one or the other to get up in the middle of the night and seek solitude in the common room to escape the dreams and contemplate about the other. Tonight
Hermione crept down the stairs to what she though was an empty common room, but tonight she was very wrong.

Harry sat up from the couch and looked at Hermione. “Hermione?” he asked.

Hermione nervously smiled at him. “Hi.” she said and finished walking down the stairs.

“What are you doing down here?” he asked as he watched her closely. His eyes never leaving hers.

“I-I couldn’t sleep.” she said, a rush of excitement ran through her as Harry’s eyes locked with hers. “What about you?”

Harry smiled and ran his hand through his hair. “The same.” he said and scooted over on the couch to make room for her. “Come sit with me.” he said feeling nervous.

Hermione smiled at him and sat down next to him. The two sat in silence for a long time, each unsure of what to say, and not wanting to break the silence. Both perfectly content in the feelings of being near each other. Hermione shifted on the couch
trying to get in a better position.

“Comfortable?” Harry asked

“Not really.” she said wiggling around on the couch.

“Do you want to lay down?” he asked.

“No its okay Harry.” she said shifting again.

“No its not.” he said and grabbed a pillow that was laying on the floor. He set the pillow on his lap and gestured for her to lay her head on it. Hermione looked at him nervously but finally gave in to the temptation and laid her head on the pillow. “Better?” he asked.

Hermione smiled and blushed slightly. “Much. Thank you.”

Harry stared at her hair that was now fanned behind her. He couldn’t resist he had to touch it. He had to know if it felt like he always imagined it did. He nervously raised his hand and carefully placed it on her silky locks. He smiled. It did feel like he has always imagined.

Hermione was shocked at the feeling of Harry’s hand running through her hair. She was in heaven. If she died tomorrow she would die happy.

“Ouch.” Hermione said when his hands caught in her hair.

“Sorry.” Harry said taking his hands out of her hair.

“Its okay.” she said frowning when his hands left her hair. “You don’t have to stop.”

Harry was pleasantly surprised when she said that and his hands imeditally went back into her hair.

Hermione smiled at the feelings of his hands back, soon her head was filling with questions. Why is he doing this? Why was he still up? Does he have feelings for me too? Hermione let out a sigh and Harry hands continued to play with her hair.

“Are you okay?”

“I am.” she said.

“You can’t lie to me Hermione. Whats wrong?”

“Its nothing. I’m just thinking.”

“About what?”

Hermione paused. Should she tell him? Should she risk their friendship to see if there was more? She should. It was time to let him know. “You.”

Harry’s hands stopped. Hermione tuned over on her back and looked up at Harry. She gave him a nervous smiled, that he returned. “Y-you think about me?”

“All the time.”

“Me too.” he said beaming down at her. “I though I was the only one.”

Hermione was pleasantly suprised. “Me too.” she said smiled.

“You consume all my thoughts Hermione. I can’t concentrate on anything but you, everything I do or see reminds me of you.”

Hermione blushed. She was not use to someone talking about her that way. “Same with me.”

“And were there more than twenty-four hours a day, they'd be spent in sweet content dreamin' away. When skies are gray, when skies are blue. Morning, noon and nighttime too, All I do the whole day through.” Harry whispered to her.

Hermione smiled. “I didn’t know you liked musicals.”
“I don’t. Aunt Petunia was very fond of them. I use to sit in my cupboard and listen to them.”
Hermione smiled and moved her arms around his neck and pulled him to her. She carefully brushed her lips across his. They both smiled. Hermione pulled away from Harry and once again shifter her position, some how she ended up on Harry’s lap
with his arms around her waist and hers around his neck. They both smiled at each other and slowly leaned into each other until there lips met once again. The two kissed for some time, until Hermione pulled away in fear of running out of oxygen.
She leaned her forehead against his and smiled at him. “I dream of you too. Morning, noon and nighttime too. All I do the whole day through is dream of you...” She never got to finish her sentence because Harry’s mouth crashed down onto hers.

ALL I DO IS DREAM OF YOU
Written by Arthur Freed & Nacio Herb Brown
Performed by Debbie Reynolds & Girly Chorus
Kathy and Girls:
All I do is dream of you
The whole night through
With the dawn, I still go on
And dream of you
You're every thought
You're everything
You're every song I ever sing
Summer, winter, autumn and spring.

And were there more
Than twenty-four hours a day,
They'd be spent in sweet content
Dreamin' away

When skies are gray
When skies are blue
Morning, noon and nighttime too
All I do the whole day through
Is dream of you
All I do the whole day throughIs dream of you.

It's cat's meow!

All I do the whole day through
Is dream of you!

A flapping sound stirred Hermione from her daze, and she looked to see who her guest was. She recognized the owl in her window immediately; it was Hedwig. She sighed and walked over to the winged messenger and untied the small piece of parchment from her leg.

“Thank you, Hedwig,” she said, offering the owl a treat before she flew away.

Hermione set the note down on her bedside table and turned to walk away; she wasn’t sure she wanted to read it yet. But the further she got from it, the more it called to her. What could he possibly say to make things better?

She and Harry had had a disheartening discussion the night before regarding their relationship and the way the war was affecting them. He had been training so much that they had barely seen each other in the past months. But he turned it back around on her and said that if she weren’t spending so much time studying for N.E.W.T.s they could be together more when he wasn’t training. They never reached a satisfactory agreement, and parted equally upset about the situation.

The memories of their confrontation were still fresh and painful, but Hermione finally gave in to her urge and unrolled the note.

I’m sorry for everything I’ve said, and for anything I forgot to say, too. When things get so complicated I stumble, at best muddle through. I wish that our lives could be simple. I don’t want the world – only you. I wish I could tell you this face to face, but there’s never the time, never the place…so this letter will have to do.

I love you.

Hermione closed her eyes and sighed. How was he able to do that? With just a few uncomplicated words, he said everything she’d wanted to hear, even if she didn’t realize it before.

Hermione was the last one to leave the library that night, and didn’t expect to run into anyone on her way back to the common room. Being Head Girl had its advantages, and she was often out much later than the regularly enforced curfew. So when a hand reached out and grabbed her arm from the darkness, she let out a frantic cry.

“Shh, it’s just me,” Harry said calmly.

“Harry! You scared me to death,” she said, holding her hand to her heaving chest.

“I’m sorry. I just left Dumbledore and hoped I could catch you before you got to the dorm. Can we go somewhere to talk?” The desperate look in his eyes forbid her from saying no, even though she knew going with him this late would be overstepping her boundaries as Head Girl.

She led him into an empty classroom and closed the door behind them. They sat down in the nearest seats and he took her hand, his eyes filled with regret and concern.

“Hermione, I just…,” he started, seeming unsure of how to say what it was he wanted to convey. “We’re both leading such elaborate lives right now, with these wild ambitions in our sights. I’ve got to be ready to face Voldemort. You’ve got to do well on your exams.” He squeezed her hand reassuringly when she looked down.

“How our love can survive, when we spend our days apart, and our nights are hurried, seems so unbelievable to me. Too unbelievable. I don't want to live like that. And I don't want to love like that. I just want our time to be slower and gentler, wiser…and free.” His last word was nearly a whisper. “In order for that to happen, I’ve got to defeat Voldemort, and you’ve got to do your best on your exams, so when this is all over we can work together to rebuild the world that’s crumbling around us.”

Tears were pooling up in Hermione’s eyes. When he brushed his hand against her cheek gently, she closed them, allowing the tears to spill over.

“We’re living in extravagant times,” he said, wiping her tears away, “and Voldemort has us playing games we can't possibly all win. It’s getting to everyone, and we’re all turning our backs on those closest to us…it’s hurting us, and to his advantage. These unintended emotional crimes don’t help anything. The more we turn on each other, he takes some out…and takes others in. I'm so tired of all we’re going through - I don't want to live like that.” He sighed and shook his head, then paused.

“I'm so tired of all were going through, Hermione,” he repeated a minute later. “We can’t have a love like that.” He took her other hand and drew her eyes to his. “I just want to be with you…now and forever.”

Hermione nodded. “But in a time of peace,’ she whispered.

“That’s true…” he said with a small smile. “I know this may not be the right moment to tell you this, but I could wait forever for the perfect time and place. With so much going on, and so many people switching sides, we don't know whose words are true. Strangers, lovers, husbands, wives – it’s hard to know who's loving who. I don’t want you to have any doubt,” he said, staring intently at her. “I love you. More than anything. And I always will…no matter what happens.”

Her heart was swelling with happiness and sadness all at once, and she couldn’t seem to form any coherent thoughts. So instead of speaking, she did the only thing she could think of and kissed him.

When they broke apart, he sighed. “Voldemort’s trying his hardest to cause a rift in our side. There are too many choices now, and it’s tearing us apart. We’ve got to stick together so he doesn’t stand a chance. I can’t imagine life with him where he wants to be.”

“I don't want to live like that,” Hermione said quietly, looking down again.

“We can't let those choices tear us apart. I don't want to love like that,” he said, and raised her chin to face him. “I just want to touch your heart. I hope this confession can be a new start for us.”

He pulled her into another kiss, and they shared the evening together, each silently confessing their deepest love for one another.

A/N: Ok, two songs from two scenes in this one - both from Elton John and Tim Rice's "Aida". (My very favorite musical.) If you get a chance to listen to them, you'll get a better feel for the emotions I think. :) They're such great songs.

Radames' Letter (Changed to "Harry's Letter")

I'm sorry for everything I've said
And for anything I forgot to say too
When things get so complicated
I stumble at best muddle through
I wish that our lives could be simple
I don't want the world only you

Oh I wish I could tell you this face to face
But there's never the time never the place
So this letter will have to do
I love you....

Elaborate Lives
http://www.tiffanyweb.com/music/11-Elaborate_Lives.mp3
RADAMES
We all lead such elaborate lives
Wild ambitions in our sights
How an affair of the heart survives
Days apart and hurried nights
Seems quite unbelievable to me
I don't want to live like that
Seems quite unbelievable to me
I don't want to love like that
I just want our time to be
Slower and gentler, wiser, free

We all live in extravagant times
Playing games we can't all win
Unintended emotional crimes
Take some out, take others in

I'm so tired of all were going through
I don't want to live like that
I'm so tired of all were going through
I don't want to love like that
I just want to be with you
Now and forever , peaceful, true

This may not be the moment
To tell you face to face
But I could wait forever
For the perfect time and place

AIDA & RADAMES
We all lead such elaborate lives
We don't know whose words are true
Strangers, lovers, husbands, wives
Hard to know who's loving who

AIDA
Too many choices tear us apart
I don't want to live like that

RADAMES
Too many choices tear us apart
I don't want to love like that
I just want to touch your heart
May this confession

RADAMES & AIDA
Be the start

What a Glorious Feeling (PG)
[info]annearchy

958 words (not including what's at the end)...probably crap, what the heck (sorry, I am the world's slowest writer - for me to write 958 words in one evening in probably a record! ;)

^*^*^*^

It started out like any other Thursday night. Harry Potter and his best friend, Hermione Granger, met their other best friend, Ron Weasley, for drinks and dinner. They’d done this every Thursday, come rain or shine or gloom of winter, for the three years since they’d finished Hogwarts. It was their way of celebrating their friendship, which had endured over ten long and often difficult years, as well as thumbing their noses at those Death Eaters who still lingered after Voldemort’s defeat.

Dinner involved large amounts of lasagna and mostaccioli, followed by cannoli and tiramisu (Ron had some of both), at an Italian restaurant on Charing Cross Road in Muggle London. After dinner, the three friends took a leisurely stroll to the Leaky Cauldron, where they had several rounds of butterbeer. Eventually Harry and Ron went from drinking butterbeer to doing Wizarding boilermakers, following each butterbeer with a shot of Old Ogden’s. After three hours of chatting and drinking, Hermione stifled a yawn.

“Well, it’s not the weekend yet, and I’ve got some papers to catch up on before I go to bed, so I think I’ll go home now,” Hermione said. As she reached behind Harry to get her cloak, it fell behind his chair and he automatically turned in his seat to pick it up.

“Let me get that for you,” Harry said. “I’m leaving too.” As he handed Hermione’s cloak to her, her hand accidentally brushed his cheek. At least Harry thought it was accidental, but her cheeks seemed a bit pink in the torchlight inside the Leaky Cauldron, almost as though she were embarrassed. He tried to brush aside the thoughts that started filling his mind. They were the same thoughts that had crept into his brain practically every Thursday for the past three years. But it didn’t do him any good to think those thoughts, because no matter how pink her cheeks might seem in the torchlight, he was sure Hermione would never think of him the same way he thought of her – as someone he wished could be more than his best friend.

“Walk you home?” he asked hopefully, trying to keep his voice level. She smiled, nodding, and the two of them watched as Ron disapparated back to the Burrow, then found their way back out to Charing Cross Road.

The air outside the tavern was thick with mist as a typically heavy London fog rolled in off the Thames River. Harry and Hermione walked along in companionable silence, just as they’d done so many times during the past ten years. This time, though, Harry thought he felt something different pass between them. It’s probably just static electricity from the rain clouds gathering overhead, he thought as his stomach did flip-flops that made him hope it was something more.

All too soon, they reached the front stoop of Hermione’s flat. Harry walked her up to the door and waited as she rummaged through her bag for her keys.

“Well, I guess I should go in now,” she sighed, her brown eyes seeming to search his face.

“Yeah, I guess you should. It feels like it's going to rain really soon.”

She sighed again.

“Harry...do you really want me to go in now? I mean, right this minute?”

Deep in her eyes Harry thought he saw something he hadn’t seen before...something that looked like what he felt toward her.

“No. I don’t want you to go in just yet.” He moved up one step until he was standing next to her. As he placed his hand gently on her shoulder, he felt several large raindrops splatter on his hair.

“Harry, it’s raining. We’re getting wet,” she objected weakly.

“Are we?” he whispered. “Does that bother you?”

“Not really,” she whispered back, her lips just inches from his.

“Me neither,” he sighed, his lips approaching hers in slow motion as the rain began to fall more heavily.

“If you’re going to kiss me, please do it before we drown,” Hermione smiled.

As raindrops kept falling on their heads, Harry lifted her chin with his finger and leaned down until his lips met hers. Hermione’s lips were soft and silky and tasted of the apple lipgloss she liked to buy at the apothecary in Diagon Alley. The two of them stood in front of her door for several long moments, their lips touching ever so lightly, as if Harry and Hermione were both holding back for fear of going any further.

As they finally ended the kiss, Harry leaned his forehead against Hermione’s and sighed. “So.”

“So.”

“What do we do now?”

“I’ll go up to my flat and you’ll go home. And I’ll see you really soon.” She tilted her face toward his and pecked him on the lips.

“Promise?”

“You can take that to Gringott’s,” she smiled.

Just as they pulled apart, the rain began to come down in sheets. “Go home and dry off, Harry!” she chided as she opened the door and let herself in.

“I will,” he replied, waving to her as he reached the kerb. “See you soon, Hermione.”

Harry pulled the hood of his cloak up over his head and shuffled down the sidewalk, a goofy grin spreading across his face. By the time he reached the corner, he realized he’d been skipping down the street. His smile growing wider, he jumped in a puddle and started tap-dancing in a big, lazy circle. A downed tree-branch caught his eye and with a flick of his wand, Harry transfigured the branch into an umbrella. He knew he could have apparated home, but the joy of finally kissing Hermione made his heart want to burst. Umbrella held over his head, he tap-danced his way home, just dancing and singing in the rain.

Don Lockwood:
Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo-doo...

I'm singing in the rain
Just singing in the rain
What a glorious feelin'
I'm happy again
I'm laughing at clouds
So dark up above
The sun's in my heart
And I'm ready for love
Let the stormy clouds chase
Everyone from the place
Come on with the rain
I've a smile on my face
I walk down the lane
With a happy refrain
Just singin',
Singin' in the rain

Dancin' in the rain
Dee-ah dee-ah dee-ah
Dee-ah dee-ah dee-ah
I'm happy again!
I'm singin' and dancin' in the rain!

I'm dancin' and singin' in the rain...

Hehe...that merits a little *squee!* As I already said...love that movie, and love Gene Kelly. :) Great interpretation, excellent descriptions. I especially loved the about-to-kiss and-then-the-kiss part. And I can totally picture a giddy Harry puddle-jumping down the street with his soaking wet cloak and brolly. *sigh* Oh to be young and in love. ;)

Lovely fluff, Anne. As much as I loved Harry "Singing in the Rain," one line in this fic really got me. Hermione’s lips were soft and silky and tasted of the apple lipgloss she liked to buy at the apothecary in Diagon Alley. How sweet is it that Harry had previously noted his "friend's" lipgloss preference? Very nicely done.

Thanks, Sherry - I'm glad you noticed that line. Kind of a dead giveaway that Harry's been watching Hermione a little more closely than he ought to in a "friends-only" relationship ;)

Anne, that was truly some great PG fluff! It gave me the warm fuzzies. I love the slow progression towards the kiss. And the kiss itself in the rain. What a lovely image that made! Harry and Hermione both were so cute and shy. I loved it! In fact I'm going to break my little reviewing hiatus with this one on my LJ this afternoon.

Following the events of that afternoon, Hermione found herself walking around the school in a slight daze. She couldn’t help but feel elated that Harry Potter, her best friend, could possibly feel the same for her that she did for him.

Is that why he refuses to let Ginny kiss him properly? She mused in a dreamy voice in her head as she relived the scene in the common room. Some voice in the back of Hermione’s mind whispered it was where he was meant to be and redheaded witch was wrong for him.

Hermione set her books down in the back corner of the library, not her usual seat, but she felt drawn to the hard-to-find corner for some reason.

“Hermione?” Ginny asked again in a somewhat frustrated manner.

“What?” Hermione jumped, a startled look on her face. “Oh, Ginny, I didn’t see you come in...”

“I’ve been trying to find you, where in the world have you been hiding?” The young Weasley asked with a curious look on her face.

“Oh, I just took my time getting here,” Hermione stammered as she pulled out her Arithmancy book. “I thought I’d do some studying for tomorrow...”

Ginny saw the glint in Hermione’s eyes and sat down at the table with a wide smile on her face. “Study? Again? You don’t look like you’re in the mood for studying, Hermione, besides you’ve got perfect marks in that class.”

“What do you mean I don’t look like I’m in the mood?” Hermione asked crossly, though it was more in surprise than anger.

“There’s something about you, Hermione,” Ginny whispered, “who’s the bloke?”

“W-what?”

“I know that day dream look, Hermione,” Ginny whispered more urgently. When Hermione refused to say anything Ginny pushed back slightly and shook her head. “Keep it a secret then,” she said with a shrug. “I only wish I knew your secret... Who is this new suitor?”

Hermione shrugged. “There is no suitor... Though,” her eyes glazed over slightly and a smile caressed her face, “My father once spoke of an angel that I used to dream would appear... Even as I sit here I know he’s near. Here in this room, he calls me softly, somewhere inside hiding... Somehow I know he’s always with me, he, my unseen guardian...”

“Hermione, you must have been dreaming, stories like this can’t come true,” Ginny placed her hands on Hermione’s shivering ones, “Hermione, you’re talking in riddles and it’s not like you... Your hands are cold and your face is white... Hermione?”

“S-sorry, I just got a shiver and it frightened me for a moment,” Hermione said quietly, pulling her hands out from under Ginny’s.

“The temperature is fine. Do you want me to get one of your jumpers for you?”

“That’s ok, I just need to get to work,” Hermione said with a slight smile.

“Hey, maybe you can use this,” Harry said as he handed Hermione a red jumper.

“Where did you get this?” Hermione asked perplexed. “I thought I lost it in France with my parents...”

“You told me about it when we snuck into the attic at the Burrow to look at the ghoul,” Harry said with a laugh. “Hedwig went out to look for it for me, but it was all tattered so I got you a new one to replace it. It might be the right size, I’m not familiar with women’s sizes,” he admitted with a shrug and sat down with the two girls. “Mind if I study with my best friend, Gin?” He asked with a wide grin.

“Not at all,” Ginny said with a kiss to his cheek. “I need to hunt down Ron anyway, See you later tonight?”

Harry nodded and smiled as Ginny left the Library then turned back to Hermione. “What was that story you told me?” He asked her once she’d gotten the red jumper over her head. “Little Lotte let her mind wander...”

“You remember that too?” She asked with a smile.

“... Little Lotte thought: Am I fonder of dolls...” Harry continued.

“... or of goblins, of shoes...” They said together.

“... or of riddles, of frocks...” Hermione smiled in recollection.

“... or of chocolates...” Harry laughed.

“I remember when my father played the violin that summer you visited,” she said wistfully as a tear slipped to her cheek. “I miss him so much, Harry.”

Without another word, Harry caught her in his arms and comforted her by stroking her hair. “I know, those were some dark stories he recited to us...”

“The ones of the North?” Hermione asked softly, sinking into the warmth of his arms. “What I love best, Lotte said, is when I’m asleep in my bed and I’d dream of that angel my father told me about...”

“It’s time for dinner, Hermione,” Harry whispered in her ear after an indeterminable amount of time, “I’ll take your books to the common room and meet you in the Great Hall, ok?”

“Ok,” Hermione said with a sigh, “I’m just going to sit here for a few more minutes...”

“I’ll come get you then,” he said gently as they pulled apart.

“No, I’ll meet you in the Great Hall,” she said with a slight smile. “I’ll be fine, really.”

“It’s no problem at all, I’ll see you here in ten minutes,” Harry returned with a wide smile. Without another word, he grabbed both of their bags and disappeared from the library. Hermione watched him leave as her heart seemingly grew bigger and bigger, her thoughts from before screaming that he had the same feelings for her as she did for him.

A chilled breeze floated from behind her and Hermione shivered. She suddenly felt sleepy and before she knew what was happening, strong arms lifted her drowsy form from the chair, cradling her like a child.

“H-Harry?” She asked as her vision grew blurry.

“Hermione, I’m your angel,” a deep voice whispered as she finally fell asleep in the arms of the man she thought was Harry Potter.

A/N: Ok, so it isn't overly romantic, but I think I've touched on the depths of how much Harry cares for Hermione and from act I scene I, we know that Hermione loves him. Sometimes romance can be a simple matter of comforting someone when they need it and anticipating when they need warm clothing... :)

Title: Marry the Man Today
Word Count: 1,000

It was a bright Sunday afternoon. Two friends sat under the brightly colored umbrellas outside Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlor chatting lightly. The brown haired woman was eating a chocolate ice cream, while the other, with the shockingly bright red hair, ate an ice cream that seemed to change flavor with every scoop.

“Draco asked me to marry him today.”

Nineteen-year-old Hermione Granger clapped her hands together and nodded eagerly for the other to continue. “And?”

“And what?” Ginny Weasley retorted, obviously trying to stall.

Hermione huffed. “He asked you to marry him. What did you say?”

“I told him that I’ll get back to him,” the younger woman said, deadpanned.

“You told him WHAT?!”

Ginny quickly made a shushing motion with her hands, smiling sheepishly at the people who turned around to look at them at Hermione’s loud outburst. “Shh. The whole world doesn’t need to know, alright?”

“Draco asked you to marry him, and you rejected him?” Hermione asked in disbelief, softer this time.

“Not rejected, I just told him that I needed to think about it.”

“It’s the same thing to guys. How did he take it?”

“Pretty well. Well, he, sort of, had that really hurt look in his eyes,” Ginny said guiltily. “But he told me to take all the time I need to think over it, and that he’d wait until I’m ready.”

“Be grateful that Draco loves you so much. Any other guy probably would have dumped you, right then and there.”

Ginny’s face dropped even more. “I know, I know. Spare me the lecture, I’ve already heard it from mum. I didn’t think she could get any louder. Anyways, enough about me. What about you and Harry? Have you decided on a wedding date yet?”

Now, it was Hermione’s turn to look guilty. “I don’t know, Ginny. I love Harry so much, but I don’t know if I’m ready for such a big commitment. I want a long an engagement. We’re both still so young and we both have our careers. I mean, after one year, he’s already the Department’s Head Auror. And my job at the Daily Prophet is going so well. I need to get to know him better.”

“You must be kidding me. Hermione, you probably already know Harry better than he knows himself! Besides, have you talked to Harry? What does he want?”

“Well, Harry wants to get married next month. Before he leaves for Ireland in August. You know, with that Top Secret mission that we’re not supposed to know about.” Hermione said, smiling slightly. Ever since Harry had let slip about the mission, Hermione and Ginny had been relentlessly teasing him about it, just because it wasn’t like Harry to slip up on something that big. After two days of constant teasing, it was clear that Harry wished that he’d erased their memory like he was supposed to do, according to procedure.

Ginny smiled too, before turning serious again,“Then, my advice is, don’t let him get away. Marry him now.”

“But, what if after we get married and I realize I can’t stand his snoring, or something?”

“Harry snores?”

“Everyone snores when they sleep, Ginny. It’s just a matter of how loud,” Hermione said carefully.

“Harry snores, Draco is going to get a kick out of that one,” Ginny said triumphantly, before she burst out laughing.

“Stop it, Ginny,” Hermione said, trying not to join the eighteen-year-old in laughing at the ridiculous image of Harry snoring. “What if I don’t want him to be an Auror? He’s always away at random hours and his life could be in danger at any moment.”

Ginny sobered up. “Hey, you know what I learned from Madam Malkin’s? You can't get alterations on a robe you haven't bought.”

Hermione stared oddly at Ginny.

“And when you’re buying groceries, you mustn't squeeze a melon 'till you get the melon home.”

Hermione nodded in understanding, “And you can’t change a man without marrying him first.”

“Right!”

Hermione frowned at Ginny, “Here you are, scolding me about wanting a long engagement when you didn’t even accept Draco’s proposal.”

Ginny’s eyes slowly lit up. “Why not?”

“Why not what?” Hermione asked in confusion.

“Why not marry Draco? I’ve been thinking. Sure, marriage is a gamble, but then so is life. And nothing is guaranteed. But I love Draco, as you do Harry. Wouldn’t you rather marry him today rather than sighing in sorrow tomorrow?”

“You’ve got a point.” Hermione said thoughtfully.

“So, what if I don’t like Draco’s attitude toward my brothers? We’ve got lifetime ahead of us to change that.”

“And what if I can’t stand Harry’s snore? I’m a witch, there’s bound to be a way to fix that.”

“But you got to marry the man today,” Ginny cried, unaware of the stares she got from the other people sitting near them.

“Then, you can change his ways tomorrow!”

Ginny laughed loudly before sticking a spoonful of the now orange ice cream into her mouth.

“Mmm, Mango, I like it.”

“Oh, Ginny. You’re driving me crazy with that silly ice cream of yours,” Hermione groaned.

“Hey, Mr. Fortescue offered to give me a sample of every flavor he had. Can’t refuse the owner, can I?” Ginny replied innocently.

Hermione rolled her eyes. “He only offered it to you because you spent the last twenty minutes standing there trying to decide on a flavor. There were other costumers.”

“Hey, it’s not my fault I couldn’t decide.” Hermione only shook her head at the youngest Weasley, trying her best not to burst out laughing.

“Well, I’ve got to go find Harry. There’s a wedding that needs planning! And you,” Hermione said pointing her index finger at Ginny, “are going to find Mr. Draco Malfoy, and accept his marriage proposal and apologize to him for being stupid enough not to accept it when he asked you.”

“Of course. Give him your hand today and save the fist for after, right?” Ginny laughed before Apparating away.

A/N: Well, that was Marry the Man Today from Guys and Dolls. Hehe. I thought that everyone would probably go to for the sincere heartfelt confessions of love, so I went to a little romantic comedy. Hehe. I'm posting on my parent's computer so I can (hopefully) link this to the original post.

Bring on the fluff!!! I love it! Your writing in this story is done with a fun-lightheartedness that I don't think I'll ever be able to achieve. Very nice tie in with Singing In the Rain and Harry's joy at the end! CFFB

I thought it would be fun to be totally different, this was hard but i enjoyed it! I'm up to date now - finally - that's what you get for taking a weekend away!
------------------------

Act 1 Scene 1

At night, on a path leading from the grounds to the courtyards of Hogwarts castle. Light is given off from the windows of the castle; distant voices can be heard coming from the castle. Harry and Hermione are alone together, Harry stands with his back to Hermione as they increasingly become angrier.

Enter Harry and Hermione

Hermione
How can you just turn your back? Ignoring this as if it isn’t even there?

Harry
[Shouting.] Because I don’t have a choice Hermione!! [Pushing his hands though his hair, becoming solemn.] And neither do you.

Hermione
We all have choices Harry.

Harry
We can’t control this Hermione [Turns to face her.] they’ll come after you, they’ll target you and it’ll be my fault.

Hermione
[Angrily.] And you don’t think they are already targeting me Harry? I’m the mudblood best friend of Harry Potter, as if that isn’t enough.

Harry
Well then let’s not give them any more reasons Hermione. [Walking away from her slightly.] I couldn’t take it if anything happened.

Hermione
Have you even thought about what I feel? Do you think I haven’t thought about these consequences Harry? Do you honestly think I would just forget? I know the risks I’m running and whether you like it or not Harry I can’t just ignore this. [Sighing at his silhouette. A short silence.] Harry, they already know; everybody does, they’ll come after me whether or not I’m at your side and I don’t care, I really don’t. Let them come, I’m a big girl, I can take care of myself.

The grounds are silent, nothing is heard except breathing. He stands with his back still facing her, she looks around in frustration.

Harry
[Quietly.] I can’t take that risk

Hermione
[Angry.] I’m not asking you to, I’ll take it for you. Come hell or high waters, whatever happens, [She pauses, takes a deep breath and walks towards him silently.] how could I live in a world without you Harry? [His silence spurs her to continue.] Don’t you see that none of it matters Harry, not so long as we’re together and I know you anxious about what will happen but it shouldn’t matter. I love you, and I know you love me Harry. [Silence.] [Turning away from him facing left.] I can do this on my own Harry, it’ll hurt but I’d survive. Please tell me that I don’t have to. [Wiping at eyes.] If at times we are afraid, we can keep each other tough Harry, we can do this together, we’re stronger this way. I’ll hold you when you when it’s dark. It’s alright to be scared.

A soft violin can be heard by the audience, playing a slow and romantic composition.

Harry
[Placing a hand on Hermione’s shoulder and pulling her into a hug] I do love you Hermione, I love you more than anybody or anything in this world, but I could be gone from this plane at any moment. [Pulling back, stroking her cheek] The world could end tomorrow……

Hermione
[Interrupting.] Or we could live a hundred years! We can be together in whatever time we have left. It would hurt just as much no matter how you might be taken from me. We need to be together Harry in this precious time.

Harry
[Pulling her hands into his, gazing intently.] Okay [Nodding is head gently.] You’re right, we should be together. I love you so much.

The couple embrace fervently and share a passionate kiss. The music becomes dramatic. The atmosphere darkens as the light from the windows start to die out one by one, the couple are left stood in under the stars holding on to one another compassionately.

Hermione
This won’t be easy Harry; we know it will be tough. But don’t you think it’s worth it just being together?

Harry
[Nodding.] We can face it now as one. But you have to promise me you’ll be careful Hermione; promise me right now.

Hermione
I promise Harry, and I assure you it’ll be easier this way, together, you and I.

Harry
I know [Sighing.] How do you do this? Every time I’m afraid you comfort me, sometime without knowing it. Just a look or a simple touch and I feel better. As much as I hate to admit you were right, just by holding my hand and being by my side right now you’re giving me an unbelievable strength. How do you do it?

Hermione
[Smiling] Magic!

Harry
We’re in for rocky months Hermione. Are you sure this is what you want?

Hermione
I have never been surer of anything in my life Harry. From this day forward I will never ever regret my decision, I will never look back. I’ve wanted this for so long.

Harry
Me too

Hermione
[Smiling.] So we are in agreement then. So this is it, you and I together

Harry
In what ever time we have

The couple kiss once again, smiling brightly as they pull apart. Harry wraps his cloak around Hermione’s shoulders before leading her off to the right, towards the castle.

Exit
Harry and Hermione.

The music fades out slowly as the lights dim all the way down.
