Hi Pittsburgh! I'm participating in a package swap in another community, and I think it'd be cool to include items that are iconic of Pittsburgh or that you can't get elsewhere. I'm going to try to procure some Heinz pins and a postcard of the skyline, but do any of you have other ideas for cool stuff from Western PA that outsiders would like?

Chair etiquette

What's the chair to reserve a parking spot etiquette? Here's the situation.

We are four parties who rent and need street parking in our house. A neighbor always parks his car in front of our house, which isn't what makes us happy - but the street is a community space, and he needs to park, and even though this guy good at blocking two spots with one car, that's OK. Today, this person cleared that spot, shoveling snow on what could be a second parking spot for one of the two small cars in our house; he also shoveled part of his snow right onto the sidewalk in front of our house. That I considered really rude. And then, this person put a chair to reserve a spot in front of somebody else's house. Again, I think that is rude. But, as somebody who didn't grow up in Pittsburgh, am I way off in my sense of chair etiquette? (This is Squirrel Hill, btw).

And, yeah, I know - I am getting my knickers in a bunch on something minor here. But, today I had to carry two big baskets of groceries down the road, please allow me to be an unreasonable and ranting bitch on a cold day ;-)
