Intro

Welcome to Pit Pass, a friends-only community for everyone who's into NASCAR. We'd love to see fans of every single driver represented here! At Pit Pass, we're interesting in expressing the positives of this sport - why "our" drivers rock, why this or that track is the best, what makes racing so exciting... Criticism is rampant within NASCAR today. Why not stop and look at what's AWESOME about this sport?

Code of Conduct

Please read the following code of conduct, so that you know what is and is not acceptable behaviour on pitpass. Failure to follow these rules may result in a warning or being dropped from the community.

1. Respect thy neighbour: Your disagreement with another poster's statement does not make that other person wrong or inferiour. You can either listen to somebody with a view that you don't seem to share - and respond with your thoughts in a friendly manner - or you can choose not to read what that person has to say. Flaming is not an option. This forum also does not accept antagonistic behaviour - that means posting messages that appear to be okay according to the rules but that you're only posting to annoy or anger another LJ user.

2. Respect the racers: We have created this community for fans of all drivers. Driver bashing or excessive negativity toward a racer is not allowed. Gossip about any racer's personal life or unsubstantiated rumours about his/her career are not welcome here.

3. Respect the human race: Hate speech (nasty remarks about race, religion, ethnic origin, gender,sexual preference, etc.) is unacceptable.

4. Let's make this a PG community: This community is intended for NASCAR fans of all ages. Therefore, swearing and vulgarity is not allowed, as is discussions of illegal behaviour. Icons must be clean, too.

5. Maintain a spam-free environment: While posting links and sharing websites is encouraged, spamming is not. Folks go to LJ communities for fun, not to be advertised at. Don't try to sell anything to anybody here either.

6. Properly use special features: Do not to use excessively large fonts. Also, if you're going to post more than two or three paragraphs - or a photo wider than 300 pixels - please use an LJ-cut.

7. Cite your sources: Articles and pictures must include references. If the poster does not include an author/URL/book/magazine citation, that individual is plaguirising.

8. Be understood: Reread yur post befur you send it to avoiyd spelling and gramadical errors. It mayks et easier for uthers to red what yo wrote, and ez common courtessay.

9. Show your fandom: Proclaiming your admiration and respect for NASCAR or a driver, team, car make, etc. is strongly encouraged.

Community Activities

* Monday Highlights Reel: After every race weekend, elliottluv38 will ask questions concerning the highlights and lowlights of what happened on the track.

* Tuesday Praise-A-Racer: Someone will choose a driver every week and will post positive things about him/her. Community members are encouraged to add their compliments. No matter who the driver is, there is always something nice about that individual!

* Wednesday Fantasy Race Challenge: Community members can play heather_2908's fantasy racing game! Every Wednesday, she will post her challenge, and members make their picks for the upcoming race. See if you can beat the competition!

* Thursday Fan Survey: </a></b></a>gaughanracing will offer a few questions every week to community members, surveying personal race fan experiences.

* Friday Factoid: On Fridays, heather_2908 will share an interesting NASCAR fact with the community.

* Saturday Driver Spotlight: </a></b></a>gaughanracing will feature a racer that you may not know much about along with their picture and biography. People who do know about them can add information and pictures. Those who don't can also add comments.
