Finall finished reading THE WIVES OF HENRY VIII by Alison Weir. Her bios are usually long, but not short on action or drama. For some reason I've been fascinated by the Tudor reign lately. I'll be starting Wier's THE CHILDREN OF HENRY VIII soon as well. If there was ever a more dangerous time to be wife and queen, the 16th century may have been it.

What was great about Weir's book, was that we got the truth from all sides about all six women - Katherine of Aragon, Anne Boelyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Katherine Howard and Katherine Parr - not just the usual historic slant. For example, Anne Boelyn was an ambitious, heartless shrew, but did she really sleep with six men (including her brother) at the end of her marriage to Henry? She was the smart one, remember? Was Anne of Cleves really that awful of a woman - did she really smell or was Henry just covering his ego? She wasn't as beautiful as her portrait, not musical and at first she didn't speak English, but to say such awful things just to save his ass was really uncalled for. Was Katherine Parr just a nursemaid for Henry? She was helpful to him in his old age (especially with his rotting leg wound), but she was an intellectual as a scholar and could debate religion with the rest of the men. She even had her own writings published which was very much a rare thing back in the day.

Good stuff! Love that historical drama!

In other news....

Moved back to MN a couple of days ago. Things are ok here. Just adjusting once again. We bought a German Shepard puppy named Shadow on Friday. He is the cutest thing ever! Though he sleeps most of the time. He latched onto me straight away and had to sleep near me last night. Not cool because I had to watch him practically all night which meant I didn't get much sleep. But it's nice to have a dog around again. Jack the Cat doesn't much care for Shadow and usually slinks away when he's in the room. Poor puppy - he never gets a break!

Other than that...did I mention I REALLY want to see "The Dark Knight"? I heard it made like $60 million on Friday ALONE. Gah! Sounds like it's one heck of a thrill ride. There's already talk of a posthumous Oscar nom for Heath Ledger. Mmm...that would be interesting.

And I'm rather glad I did, because I wouldn't have been able to take Act 3 last night/this morning.

Of course, it was kind of a bummer, as I spoiled myself accidently -misread the title of a post-

I just want to say three vauge things:

Anyway... I did a shot of tequila with Steve -kinda-; Roger shook my hand twice -course, he was PLASTERED, so he probably didn't realized he grabbed my hand twice- and I got a picture with Conor Boots -aka Sharkbait (Ooh haha)-:

Well, I finally finished my AndrAIa necklace today. It took me two days to finish it. I am quite pleased with the finished product. I did do one thing slightly different than the real resign. On the gold bands there are suppose to be what looks like flower type designs but i decided that the real necklace was too small to paint those so I opted for just doing the raised dots which looks similar enough and gives it a nice texture. I really wanted it to be completely accurate but reality did not allow for it.

It doesn't look as shiny as it is in this picture, it is really hard to take pictures at night in your house, the lighting isn't very good. There is a nice clear satin sealer coat over the top.

and unfortunately the harsh indoor lightly shows all of the falts in painting in this picture but it looks amazing in real life and in natural lighting.

still watching Heroes! i only have 3 more episodes to finish in the first season. :)

+I am in a wild Christian Bale mood so a picspam is needed. Tons of photos huge ones,  this will probably be part I cause well you can't deny the hotness.

Tonight: Night One of stalkingseeing RCPM! :)

I'm in one of those funny moods again where I can't tell if I'm really happy or really angry.
Kat just called, asking if I had gotten a letter from the school this morning. I checked and I had. It's all about uniform for next year... WHAT THE HELL! Apparently next year we are going to have to go in smart dress everyday. I had so been looking forward to stocking up my wardrobe with new (casual) clothes, but no. It will be all tailored trousers, blouses and buisness like skirts. Gah! 

(I don't even know what a buisness like skirt would look like. What is the difference between that and a normal skirt? And why does it have to be buisness like? I'm not a buisness person, I am still a student!)

Stupid school! Stupid dress code! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!

But on the other hand, Kat's just asked me if I want to go to Wales with her next week. My parents have said it's okay (even though I will miss my Dad's birthday) so that's one thing to look forward to I guess.

I suppose all those beautiful new T-shirts and my new pair of jeans are going to have to go back now. I'll need the money to buy my self a buisness like skirt.

so, i just discovered the show HEROES and it is so good!! i have watch more than half the first season in less than 24 hours (yeah, went to bed at 4am last night b/c i couldn't stop watching). agh! i am getting sucked into another tv show. if i continue to watch it, my tv show count this fall will be up to...9. eek! some of those may or may not be playing though, some are on midseason hiatus until 2009 and one may just be a summer season. so that would bring it down to 7 but that is still a lot. lol. wow. i'm a dork.

well, back to Heroes!

+So I watched The Dark Knight and did I like it? I LOVED IT! It was really good, the direction, the actors, the script, the music everything was as good as I expected. Heath Ledger was brilliant. Christian Bale was gorgeous and well he is always great. But more under the cut and I will try to mark spoilers well so that you won't be spoiled. I can't assure you it will all make sense though but I will try my best lol. If you've seen it let's discuss :)



+David Tennant pics rehearsing for Hamlet are out. I am so excited!!! Can't wait to see him on stage, it will be awesome. And the pics are great! 1 2 3 I love the last one! "To Be or not to Be" with the skull as a ball lol.
