| my little pug is all grown up! she's turned into an oakland warehouse roof dog, she's so hardcore - and i've only had her since january! don't worry, she's still pretty much always spreading the pink. she's a dark fighter and a light spreader, with her pink rhinestoned harness, her roof presence is positive - she can do both just by being. =) lee.loo turned 3 years old in doggy years sometime between the 1st and 5th of this month, her papers say the 1st. in any case, happy birthday to my little lee.loo, who's my best friend and only consistent companion. she doesn't leave if i cry, she doesn't leave if i'm upset, she doesn't leave if i get angry. she just wants to be with me and loved. that, i can do.

(no comments on her weight, i'm, err...she's sensitive! besides, cartman's mom says she's just big boned.)

| lee.loo met my old dog porter yesterday, at a local dog park. she had some fun there but mostly did her usual "i'm serious mom, why are there so many other dogs here and why aren't we cuddling in bed" face while staring up at me, ignoring other dogs. she chased one big dog around and she and porter weren't very interested in each other. porter likes to play, lee.loo...not so much. lee.loo likes to eat, sleep, be pet, be in my lap, be with me. repeat. but in any case, here are are all of the park pics: lee.loo:

| this morning's waking up is brought to you by tongue:

once she realised i wasn't going to run outside if she licked me to death, she resigned to sitting between me and my laptop so i *couldn't* work and HAD to take her out:

| aww, i just went over to Pug Meetup.com and found this picture someone took of me and lee.loo at last month's united pug meetup! she is still not quite *into* other dogs so much as her mommy, she prefers the quiet of home by a cozy fire, and of course one of my pillows: | |

| yesterday was a success in my eyes, lee.loo wasn't totally hip to all the other puggies running around, but she was definitely happier at the rancho coastal humane society dog park than she was at dog beach. no sand being kicked up on lee.loo's tongue at least makes the forced socialisation bearable. i think it helped that most of the dogs were pugs, more her size - there for united pug meetup day. there were around 25 other pugs running wild, rolling wild is probably a more accurate way to describe it and it was hilarious. it's amazing the difference in their faces, demeanor, feel of their coats, their tails - wow! i was worried i wouldn't be able to tell my pug from the rest, but i recognised unsavior's puggies before i recognised him! on to the pictures, i think this first one expressed most accurately how lee.loo felt about the whole debacle: "um, yeah, mom? there are a lot of other dogs acting goofy over there. i'm much more refined than all of this!"
( cut for many, many more pugs! ) | |

| lee.loo is our alarm clock. she wakes up around 8am every day and proceeds to meander back and forth between sleep/snoring under the covers and snorting in our faces/pretending to sleep on top of the covers. she has taken well to our morning routine though, of tea and email in bed; although once she's gone potty for the morning she is apt to try to crawl back under the covers and snooze until coerced with promises of a walk, food, treats, or play:
