I was wondering every ones views on Manic Panic pinks?
I would much rather use SFX.
I know it's better dye.
I don't have the means to order any. (sad face)
I would like a light pink.
I bleached my hair very pale.
I'm in the toning process.(using blue & violet based toners)
I really want to stay away from orangey-tones during fading.
I don't mind redying.
My question is: If I'm aiming for light pink would it be in my best interest to:
a.) buy Cotton Candy Pink by Manic Panic.
or
b.) buy Hot Hot Pink by Manic Panic and dilute it with conditioner?

From my previous use of Manic Panic I know it's not very strong so I'm not sure if diluting is even an option.

I also wanted to ask if anyone thinks the new "amplified" versions actually last longer / are more vibrant?

All your suggestions are greatly apperciated.

Hair fading- Special Effects Virgin Rose

Hi, I'm new to this community!

So. This is the second time I've dyed my hair Virgin Rose.

The first time, I dyed over it a week after, so I never really knew how it faded out, nor did I get to see how long it lasted. It did, however, show up as a reddish tint underneath the black.

I had my hair bleached orange that time, but this time I bleached it until it was blondish, sort of peachy/light yellow color (I don't know if that was the palest it would go, so if someone could enlighten me on that it would be AWESOME).

My hair was bleached twice with 30V, so it's kind of dead, but not overly so.

After this, I wanted to move on to Cupcake Pink (Special Effects), then a nice bright blue. That is my other question I guess. Is this possible?

So, I'm hopefully going pink again soon. I ordered SFX Bleach and I have a bottle of hardly-used Splat! Luscious Raspberries or whatever. So, just wondering, how good is SFX Bleach? Because I used Splat! Bleach last time which fucked up my hair so bad that I had to cut it all off:

(My eyebrows aren't really that terrible, it's just the shitty photobooth)

lol i recently returned to the pink side after sportin purple with turquoise on top for a few months.....ultimately i'd love for my purple parts to be turquoise with pink on top, but i don't think my hair agrees with the idea of more bleach & color stripping lolz...

Another Job Question

I'm going into my senior year of High School, and I recently dyed my hair back to hot pink after buying a wig to get around the band uniform hair policy.

I still haven't decided on a college major. Sure, a lot of you may think it's silly to decide on what I want to do based on hair, but I am so much happier being able to express myself fully and I would rather not wear a wig for the rest of my life. Besides, I'm having a lot of trouble making decisions and I need some more information to perhaps narrow down my choices.

I know that the memories have plenty of information on jobs with pink hair, but I didn't see any mention of the fields I'm interested in. Right now I have fashion design (preferably costume design), interior design, film editing, and architecture (though that one is more doubtful) in mind. I basically want to do something creative and/or involving design (but probably not graphic design as I'm not very good at drawing). Does anybody know which fields are more lenient, if any, toward unnatural hair color? Or does it just depend on the company?

Hello my pink-haired sisters and brothers!

I've had pink hair for over a year now, have been looking at this community every so often and decided to finally post some photos of my pink hair plight.

I also have a question:

Initially when I bleached my hair, I left it a bit yellowish so when my pink is light/faded it's orangey. Is there any way to get it out? Or should I just deal? :( Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated !

Freshly dyed, I prefer mine a bit faded, tho!

Hey! Newbie to this community, but not so much to pink hair. I've had it a mix of pink and blonde since March this year, and I've considered getting it all pink, but I don't want atomic pink since that's what everyone gets. Although, I don't really want it all to be the color I currently have, which is something by Paul Mitchell. It's probably Inkworks, but I'm not quite sure. When I asked my hairstylist to dye it the way I wanted, she said that was the best hot pink she could find, but to me it looks more fuschia or magenta, and I really really want hot pink.

When I first got my hair dyed pink, it looked like this:

But now at this point, my hairstylist barely uses highlights anymore, she just keeps the top platinum and paints it all pink underneath so it looks like this:

When it fades, usually what happens is underneath, the pink is all still a bold shade, along with the bangs. But, the tips and front in general tend to fade back to blonde, and the pink bleeds into the blonde turning most of it into a light pink/cotton candy color. The best pictures I have are these, since I tend to avoid getting pictures taken when I'm due to get my roots/pink redone.

(I was at the wax museum... I haven't met Johnny Depp... yet. ;p)

I have another question, does anyone have any idea what brand or color Gwen Stefani had in her hair during the Return of Saturn era in 1999/2000? (This was clearly a big inspiration for what my hair currently looks like, lol) Is this atomic pink, a mix of pinks, or something completely different? This is the shade I had asked for at the salon, but I don't think Paul Mitchell has anything in this flamingo pink. I'm thinking of just bringing in atomic pink and cupcake pink and see about mixing the two to create a shade.

Oh, and if anyone knows how to get this color too, that would be awesome. :)

i'm new and pretty desperate here.
(yes..)

i currently HAVE pink hair, and due to the annoying amount of comments i get from strange men on the street, coworkers, etc. i have decided to get rid of it. (i know, i've had it for years)

it is pink with a blue streak in my bangs.

so the question is... how do i go blonde? i just bleached it but now it just looks light pink with blonde roots. if i put in blonde dye will it lighten it enough? or should i maybe bleach it again?

any help is appreciated.

I only did a little bit of pink. If i were to bleach my entire head and dye it pink...i would have turned out bald. There is nothing wrong with baldness, i just don't think i can pull off the bright lipstick and big earrings look quite yet....

I used to have pink hair and I am seriously considering doing it again (job permitting) just because of my love for it. I'm posting here to ask what the best way to dye your hair is and to keep up with it. So let me know some of your pink hair dying and upkeep, just to get an idea of getting the best way to enjoy having pink hair and have it looking its pinkiest.

I had my hair done at a salon. The pink they had was nice, but it faded too fast.

I added punky colors flamingo pink and it turned into that crazy purple color. Should have expected that but it faded to...

...this! I really liked this color, but it didn't last all that long.

Then to old reliable (or so it would seem), atomic pink, which is definitely the best. It faded the best too.

I'm very pleased with the color that atomic pink faded to. It faded to this in about 4/5 months (is that good?) It was still pretty nice.

So I want to do pink again and in the haircut I like, now that I know how to get it that way.

I just think this would look real cute in pink. If not, at least I can look at all you pinkheads and live vicariously :)

As you can see, I let my roots grow out and that's about 9 months worth! I also liked to know about root managing rituals s'il vous plait.

This time my sister (artist & stylist) wouldn't let me even TOUCH the color bottles! She wanted it to be a complete surprise! I suggested a little black for high contrast (something we've been seeking and haven't been able to get, even with the purple... which fades into something terribly icky!) And boy oh boy (and yes I say this everytime, but everytime it's TRUE!) she outdid herself YET AGAIN! Wow! Even my sister was FREAKING about the results! She has every right to be proud!!!! and better yet for MEEEEEEEE... I get to WEAR this creation on my HEAD everyday! yay! We really wanted the colors to showcase the cut and did she ever get what we wanted! I'm so impressed I can't believe I get to wear this head-o-hair!

Hello, fellow pinkies. It's been a little over two weeks since I took the pink plunge. I have washed it three times since then(shampoo and conditioner). My hair took well, even though I have some fading up near the roots. The bottom is still bright pink, while towards the roots is very very pale pink. I was thinking about throwing the rest of my Napalm orange over it, but I'm not quite sure yet. It's fun matching things to it. I went to the bingo hall last night, and was super excited about having pink bingo sheets. Just thought I'd give you guys some pictures, and mention that I LOVE HAVING PINK HAIR.

Hi guys :) Sorry to post again so soon, but I was wondering if you could give me some advice. I've had Atomic Pink hair for about six weeks, and have had to redye it twice in that time as my hair doesn't seem to hold onto dye that well.

Normally I would wash my hair every other day, but in order to keep the pink fresh for longer I now extend that to four days. The only thing is...by then, my hair is absolutely horrible. Forget an egg, I could do a full English on there it's so oily. Dry shampoo doesn't seem to cut it [other than making me look like I have horrible dandruff], so I'm resigned to tying it up or hiding it under a hat for the third and fourth days.

How often do you pinkheads wash your hair, and how do you keep your hair looking at least vaguely fresh in the meantime? Are there any tricks I'm missing out on here?

well, I don't know who said it, but someone told me Atomic Pink doesn't bleach out, but it did for me.

I used one packet of Effasol, for 20/30 minutes, and then bleach, left on for 30 minutes. The Effasol didn't really do much, except lighten the pink a little bit. The bleach is what really got it out.

this is what I started with. Atomic Pink after two months.

After Effasol and bleach, wet and not brushed.

semi dry.

dry.

Now, I didn't bleach out 100 percent, but as you can see, it's a HUGE difference.

Anyways, my hair didn't sustain any visible damage. It didn't melt, split, fall off, etc.

It now is Fishbowl and Electric Blue, and it's all even toned :)

i am now currently obsessed with having pale pink hair.

my inspiration:

this is me: <-- you can kinda see my skin tone. im pale, so what shade of pale pink would look best? and, how should i go about it?

i know of manic panic, raw, jerome russel, and speical effects. ive heard manic panic isnt so good, neither is raw. jerome russel looks long lasting, with good color. the only problem with jerome is if i will be able to make it a pale pink. ive heard it doesnt budge. speical effects sounds awesome.

i know id have to bleach or at least use a blonde box dye. i already get bleached, although i dont have any pics of that. how blonde/bleached would i have to go to get what i want?

pictures and advice would be great. thanks.
