AboutAnother fic fest?? Why should I join this one?
Because this is your chance to get people excited about your story before it’s posted. And, hey, it’s a kinky threesome fest and it's anonymous (at least until the Masterlist of fics and authors is posted). What’s not to love? This isn’t an exchange fest—you’re writing for yourself, not another recipient. So you can be as kinky or vanilla as you like. Don’t feel like writing sex? You don’t have to. Have a hankering to work in that het relationship you like so much? Sounds great! Have you had a secret desire to dress your favorite male character in petticoats? Now’s your chance.
So if it’s not an exchange fest, how do we know what to write?
There will be three columns on the sign-up post, characters, prompts, and kinks. You pick three characters, one prompt and one kink. See? It’s easy!
Wait! Wait! What if someone else picks the prompt or kink or characters that I want?
No problem. Choices aren't limited to one author. If everyone decides that there aren’t enough electroplay stories in the world, that’s just fine with us. The choices are to help guide you in your story writing, not limit it unnecessarily.
But what if I pick bondage as my kink, does that mean I can’t also include dirty talk in my story?
Nope, that’s not what it means. In the above case, bondage would be the primary kink, an underlying theme of the story, if you will. If you want a dirty-talking, leather-pants-wearing, crop-wielding Remus in there, too, that’s fine by us. In fact . . . perhaps that should be mandatory.
Okay, but what’s this pimping business?
Ah, here’s the fun part! Unlike other fests, in the final three weeks of writing time, you have an opportunity to post teasers in order to pimp your story. Teasers may include any of the following: story title, story summary, characters, prompt, kink, or story snippets (up to ~200 words). Pimping will take place during designated Pimping Weeks (see the schedule below). We'll send you your pimping schedule so that you'll know when to post. Or, we can post for you if you want. You can be as over-the-top as you’d like—in fact, we encourage it. Discussion is also encouraged! Authors may continue to tease and tempt by answering comments – anonymously (or through an LJ they created for their pseudonym). One caveat—while “trash talking” and banter are encouraged, so is respect and decency. The mods expressly reserve the right to remove comments that cross the line.
Will everyone know who I am?
Nope. You will be anonymous. Everyone will be given a Famous Wizard trading card name to use for the duration of the fest. The mods will choose one for you. You can either post anonymously or create a Livejournal account for your pseudonym.

April 5 – Introductory Post
April 7 - Claims Table is posted for perusal
April 11 – Sign-ups begin at 12:00 p.m. EST
April 18 – Sign-ups end
April 20 – Masterlist of participating authors posted
April 22 – Participants receive their pseudonyms and schedule of their "teaser" posts
Authors will have 8 weeks to write. Fics are due on June 17.
May 27 – Pimping Week number 1 begins!
June 3 - Pimping Week number 2 begins!
June 10 - Final Pimping Week!
June 17 - ALL FICS ARE DUE, NO EXCEPTIONS
June 19 – Voting begins! The fic with the most votes is posted first, and so on … with one fic posted each day until the end of the fest. This process will be explained in more detail closer to voting time.
June 24 – Posting begins!
What about extensions? What if I don’t pimp?
Sorry, no extensions. All fics are due on June 17. And if you don’t pimp, that’s okay, but it’s not as much fun. And this is all about having a lot of fun with fellow HP fanficers! As for consequences, not pimping just means your story won’t get voted on and, therefore, won’t receive posting priority.
Okay, but what about the mechanics of things? I mean, let’s get to the nitty-gritty.
The mods want everyone to have fun and they want the readers to enjoy it too. What does this mean?
Your story MUST be beta’ed. No exceptions. We will skim all stories to make sure they’re properly formatted, etc. If we see a number of spelling, grammar, or other mistakes, we’ll send it back and ask that you get it re-beta’ed. If we receive it again with errors, we won’t post it.
Speaking of formatting, please use html code when formatting your fics. If you’re not sure of how to do it, email the mods—we’ll point you in the right direction.
Your story should be a minimum of 1,000 words. There is no maximum.
All ratings and genres are welcome.
