this is a jumble
so i made a bunch of things, and i'm planning on making some other things...sorta for 4th of July, but i don't actually have specific plans yet, i just want to be prepared.

i figured oreo truffles were a necessity, since they're my "thing" now. but then i remembered that my mother had sent me a recipe for cookie dough truffles, and i figured it would be fun to try something new.

and why wouldn't you want to end up with one of these hands to lick?

they pretty much look the same as oreo truffles in the end. except...

for the squirts! the cookie dough is trying to escape!

OMGWTFBBQ MY TRUFFLES HAVE WORMS

*note: the cookie dough truffles are pretty good. however, the ratio of effort to awesomeness is not nearly as good as with oreo truffles, so i'm not sure i'll make these again. they aren't hard to make (it's essentially cookie dough from scratch, covered in almond bark) but they are slightly harder than just food processing cream cheese and a package of cookies, so i will stick with that.

i also decided i needed red, blue, and white (okay, pale yellow) jello shots for whatever i ended up doing this weekend!

and P.S. i found a new use for mini muffin pans! jello shot holders!

oh, AND i made a dump cake with the last of my blueberries.

YUM! I wish I had some of that dump cake to go along with my morning coffee. The truffles are adorable would you mind sharing the recipe? Thanks, and good luck with the Jello shots. ;)

Cookie Dough truffles...
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup egg substitute
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 cup miniature semi sweet chocolate morsels
3/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional...I just used more morsels)
1 package almond bark

Step 1 - beat butter til creamy.
Step 2 - add sugars, egg substitute and vanilla, all the while mixing.
Step 3 - add flour to the creamy mixture and keep mixing.
Step 4 - add morsels (and nuts) and mix.
Step 5 - put in fridge for 30 minutes to chill
Step 6 - roll into little balls and set on a pan
Step 7 - put in fridge/freezer for an hour to harden
Step 8 - melt almond bark and dip balls in chocolate, set back on the pan
Step 9 - put back in the fridge/freezer until hardened.
Step 10 - try not to eat them all yourself.

Oreo truffles are a little easier:
1 package of oreos
1 container of cream cheese (8 oz)
1 tsp vanilla
1 package of chocolate almond bark

Step 1 - obliterate oreos in food processor.
Step 2 - add cream cheese and vanilla and continue to obliterate in food processor until you can't tell there's cream cheese (no more white).
Step 3 - roll into little balls and set on a pan
Step 4 - put in fridge/freezer for an hour to harden
Step 5 - melt almond bark and dip balls in chocolate, set back on the pan
Step 6 - put back in the fridge/freezer until hardened.
Step 7 - try not to eat them all yourself.

By vanilla you mean extract, right? (As you can see, I am so completely new to cooking that even something simple confuses the shit out of me).

I plan on making a dump cake on the 4th also. OH! And for white jello you can use coconut!
