This Christmas I got the best gift a die hard Mac fan could get. I became one of the cool kids and got a shiny new iPhone. Of course this meant...Duh? Wallpaper had to be created.

So I was going through a Flickr stream the other day and randomed on someone's Dragon*Con photos. Some of the photos where obviously of members of the SG fandom. Someone had created a Baal for President and Vice President in 2008 campaign. I'm not sure who was in charge of this brilliant idea, but it was well Brilliant. Sexy evil in the White House has got to be better than what we've had for the past 8 years.

So I had to spoof the awesome Obama art and came up with this lovely wallpaper, which okay, is a tad bit on the bright side to be actual wallpaper, but it amuses me.

The History: Last year, medelle, in the throws of withdraw tasked me with finding a ticker that could be posted to her livejournal and I did. And then we shared it with the livejournal community because we're awesome like that.

The Fine Print:

We aren't nearly as worried about bandwidth this year as we were last year because the livejournal community has been very cool. That being said we'd ask that you some discretion in linking your banner. The banner will only work on Livejournal. Trying to post it anywhere else will result in a broken file. If for any reason it looks like our bandwidth is going to tank, we will pull the plug. medelle is paying the bills, she gets the final say on that.

There have been issues with this Dr. Who layout

Which is fairly popular but hasn't always aligned properly and the issue only seems to happen with like half the people and I have no clue why. And I admit I haven't always diligent with helping to fix the errors, I have bad habit of starring the posts in gmail and then promptly forgetting about them. I'm terribly sorry for that.

I believe I have it fixed, I just tried the CSS file that I've posted on my own journal and everything aligns according to how it should look. If you've tried the layout in the past and found it to be broke, try the CSS I've got post.

And now I'll go back to wading through real life.

03.21.08 EDIT: Yes, kids, we are still winning at Fan Girl. I've added a few more banners on top of the cool ones we already had and I'd say we're set for the next round of tickers. Let the count down to squeeing begin!

So medelle wanted a count down to Christmas the next episode of Dr. Who that she could post to her LJ profile, but all she was finding was JS ones. Livejournal strips Javascript so that wouldn't work. So she tasked me with finding her one that would work. Eventually I found one of those graphical tickers with cheesy graphics. It was okay, but I knew if I could find the code to make it work that I could do much much better. So after some hair pulling and a lot of rewording search queries in Google (something I am really awesome with) I found what I needed.

A PHP script that generated an image that updated every day and allowed me to use my own images. So now we're offering it to you to.

Commenting if you use'em would be nice, so we kinda know how many people might be using'em.

There were any number of other things I should have been doing today. I did this instead. The first one isn't OMG great at higher resolutions because I was using screen caps. But I wanted glasses porn damn it and also I love Martha's apartment. The colors are just GUH!

I have wallpaper that was spawned by a discussion medelle and I had about Dr. Who 3x04 but there aren't really any spoilers. Just sheer silliness.

I'll have shirts up on My spreadshirt shop sometime this weekend. Sadly they will not be tie-dyed. That would be freaking awesome but just not possible as far as I know. They will instead feature this design http://pics.livejournal.com/littlekfru/pic/005pa34c and be on white shirts or will have a light blue background for those of you who have an objection to pink and again be on white shirts.

Apparently not being able to get the work I should be getting done done is a good thing for my creative muses. A co-worker brought in a design magazine which had some interesting color palettes in it that I decided to try out for a layout for my personal journal. And when I got the header done I went...ya know that'd translate to some nice wallpaper.

And it did. Sorta. The photo got a bit crunchy when I pushed it to the 1600x1200 range. There are two sizes, 1600x1200 and 1440x900. (medelle will nag if I don't come up with at least that size on the widescreen *g*). Setting the desktop to stretch should automatically resize for your resolution.
