Hi. :-) I run an icon contest called [info]bw_stillness and I was wondering if you would let me use this picture for a future challenge. You will of course be credited. If you say no, I will totally respect that and not use the picture.

Define "makeshift infrared camera"

I have been attempting to dabble in infrared. I use to do some in the military, but now I have to relearn everything.

Well I have an old fujifinepix 3.2mp camera and since I had upgraded I decided to make it infrared. I opened it up (which was the hardest part) and replaced the CCD filter with a piece of fully exposed (black) film. This filters out all wavelengths except infrared, which the CCD can thus read.

I really love how the greens come through in infrared, and also the skies. It also brings through the softest skin tones.

Thanks for the comments.

Very cool. I have an older Sony that is about to be retired. I just might have to tear it apart.

Thanks

yes, those are the instructions I sorta followed. Mine was a different camera though, so it was mostly just luck.

Yeah, this is really beautiful. It's probably the infared or something that gives it a different feeling.
