Got a call from a private investigator in FL who says someone is using my social security number. Gave me the guy's name and read back my full social and past three addresses. I placed a 90 fraud alert on my account and requested the free credit report I get for doing so (can't get it online, since I got my annual free one back at the end of May). My Wamu credit card gives me FICO and basic credit bureau info up to Sept 1st, and there's nothing there to indicate its been used. Of course, we're have way into October.
Soon as I get the mailed credit report, we'll see what this guy has used it for and I'll start the dispute process. I'm going to call this PI back on Monday when he's in his office and see what else he knows.
Seriously, can I PLEASE catch a break? |

I haven't posted in a while, so here's something inane, a little funny, and a little sexist. I do like to drink beer, but also other stuff. I haven't gone so far yet as to coordinate my outfit with my drink of choice. I can barely make sure my shoes are grossly inappropriate for whatever I'm wearing.
Moral of the story is, "women" have more fun drink choices!

| Whipped Up A Shitstorm Then Got Stuck In It. |
[Oct. 11th, 2008|07:54 am] |
If we are to judge politicians not by their accomplishments, nor their words, but by their associations -- if we are to do as John McCain and Sarah Palin have suggested in speeches and advertisements over the past few weeks -- then perhaps it is time to judge them not only on who they 'paled around with' in the past, but on who comes out to support them today.
For instance, how about the woman at the McCain rally who, according to CNN, stood up and told him: I don't trust Obama. I have read about him and he's an Arab.
Or what the man who, according to the Huffington Post, said: I think its so important in today's country to see what we are missing and what's really going on. When you have an Obama, Pelosi, and the rest of the hooligans up there gonna run this country, we gotta have our head examined.
Or what about folks at the McCain and Palin rallies who shouted terrorist! or treason! or even kill him! at the mention or Obama's name.
After a solid week of this level of vitriol being spilled on behalf of McCain's candidacy by his supporters, he finally stood up yesterday and responded to the woman who distrusts Obama because she believes he is an Arab: No ma'am, no ma'am. He's a decent family man...[a] citizen that I just happen to have disagreements with on fundamental issues. That's what this campaign is all about.
It's an upright thing for McCain to defend him, but it's too little too late, as he found out. McCain's supporters unleashed a loud chorus of boos in response to his statement, seemingly preferring to believe the hate-mongering McCain -- the McCain who whips up the fears of his supporters with suggestions that Obama is dangerous, that he is friends with terrorists, that he wants to 'pal around with' folks like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad -- to the reasonable McCain who expresses differences on the level of ideas and ideologies.
On the one hand, McCain gets what he deserves. He and his running-mate endeavored to transform their supporters into an unruly mob, and they seem to have succeeded beyond the level of what they are able to control. But on the other hand, whoever deserves the blame, this is a thing that anybody, regardless of politics, should find absolutely chilling. I look at these kinds of folks -- the kinds of people who have chosen to associate themselves with John McCain -- and I see a prelude to a lynching, and I see a prelude to a kristallnacht, and I see a prelude to something like the assassination of RFK or Martin Luther King Jr.
When asked about my research, and why I am interested in African American issues when I am (obviously) not black, I have occasionally responded that it seems to me, as an American Jew, that as prosperous as any minority group might become in the United States, we are never more than one charismatic leader away from massive racial violence. And I really fear that that is what we are seeing here.
So please, John McCain, let's judge candidates for political office by their associations. Barack Obama knows a guy in Chicago who, 40 years ago, was part of a really absurd terrorist group. Whereas you, through your incendiary character-assassination tactics, have attracted what seems to be a very large group of people who are filled with hate and sound like they are on the verge of violence. Certainly, Mr. McCain, I believe you when you say that this is not what you want -- when you say that your differences with Barack Obama are disagreements, not disrespect. But this is a shitstorm that you whipped up, and now you are mired in the shit soup it has left behind. |

so not in the mood today.
my dad got into an accident when coming back from the nursing home visiting my grandma and got into an accident. from what he told me there's 2000 in damage to the front of the car. he hit the back of a septa bus, apparently it stopped abruptly or something at a yellow light.
this shit sucks. we're already pretty much screwed when it comes to money. i gave him 200 out of my last paycheck for the car, but he really needed it because of the bills.
i just feel like my head is going to explode, and being here with my obnoxiously annoying coworkers isn't helping. first thing i did when i got here was put on my ipod.
i need to escape everything. |

Remember the African-American fellow who asked McLame about Economics at the Debate. You know the one that McSame condescendingly told that he probably "hadn't heard" of Fannie and Freddie before all this...
Turns out he's a Political Science major and has responded online.
How did I feel about Sen. McCain stating “You probably never heard of Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac before this.”
Well Senator, I actually did. I like to think of myself as a fairly intelligent person. I have a bachelor degree in Political Science from Tennessee State, so I try to keep myself up to date with current affairs. I have a Master degree in Legal Studies from Southern Illinois University, a few years in law school, and I am currently pursuing a Master in Public Administration from the University of Memphis. In defense of the Senator from Arizona I would say he is an older guy, and may have made an underestimation of my age. Honest mistake. However, it could be because I am a young African-American male. Whatever the case may be it was somewhat condescending regardless of my age to make an assumption regarding whether I was knowledgeable about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
