The Millefiore&Co., who have recently published several award winning novels and non-fiction stories. They have branched out to try to corner the market on everything but text books. Last but not the least, the Varia, a start up company that specializes in erotic magazines and collections of erotic short stories. But they are also known for producing books and magazines on fashion, trends and pop culture. It's just that once you start publishing ero magazines, everyone thinks that's all you publish. Now, what does this have to do with you? Welcome to the world of Publishing. You either work for one (or all, if you're a freelancer) of the above companies as a writer, an editor, a translator, heck, you might just even be a janitor or a board member. I have enough happy in me to make two posts! The other one will be heavily filtered to the locals, related to work as it is. But the main thing about that post that you should know is this: I no longer have Internet at work, so unless I sneak out several times a day to use the library computers for email, I am stuck contacting people through office email and cellphone. Usually home by 7:30pm, so there we go. :|

Thursday evening, I went out with James to watch Mutant Chronicles. The movie is so bad I don't know how bad it is, but I did enjoy commenting on it with James while the film was going, so there is that! I wish there was more hot and less copy-pasta CG mutants, but I'll take what I can get!

Today, I went off to Amici for dinner with khursten, ficcentricity, Kapitan, yue_dermond, and psychoshoujo. ♥ Mmm, delishus lasagna! And then we went off to sing at the local Japanese karaoke. So I can at least sing half the time along with everyone!

I couldn't go out because the streets were flooded, and I didn't want to brave the stupid torrential pouring of rain. It was a MAJOR LET-DOWN. And now I'm depressed again! This is so UNFAIR! *cries*

The storm managed to let up when it was already late this afternoon! How evil is that?! *cries some more*

And now I shall wander off to do something engaging and... okay. *shuffles off dejectedly*

It's so hard to drag myself to post on LJ these days... Plurk suits my hours a lot more, given the way I've been running around like a headless chicken, balancing RP stuff and school and the little things I do to keep myself sane. ANYWAY, LIFE UPDATES. ~~~/o/

Last week was quite pleasant, even though nothing out of the ordinary happened: consultation for my En11 classes continued, and my kids in Lit13 were basically running the class in my stead with their group reports. Overall, minimal preparation was required on my end, so that gave me a lot of time to freak out over my grad studies requirements.

Thursday was an awesome day for both me and the rest of ADMU: our college boys' basketball team won the championship for the 71st season of the UAAP, and I finished all 15 pages of my final paper in Development of Fiction while everyone else was either at the game, watching it, or watching other people watch it and plurk on it. XD

My Mishima Report last Saturday was a big success~ Sir DM made it a point to congratulate me and say that I did a lovely job. I feel greatly affirmed. ♥ NOW, REBORN! PAPER. HERE I COME.

Saturday was also lovely because I went to Trinoma to hook up with verjill, who was celebrating her birthday. sortinghatlover and magnetic_rose where also there, along with some other lovely people who I really, really enjoyed talking to. Jill, bb, can you do me a favor and direct me towards their Plurk accounts/LJs? And let them know that I want to bugger them online! \o/

Most of yesterday was eaten up by my mother's oath-taking over at the Manila Hotel... she's just received her license to practice as a certified guidance counselor, so that's some kind of awesome. Pros of the oath-taking ceremony include air-conditioned room and me getting to dress up pretty. Cons include bad food, stiff strangers at the table I was in, LONG-ASS SPEECHES and this senile old lady who kept insisting that everybody sing along with her to this terribly Filipinized version of "If We Hold On Together" not just once, but three fucking times.

The after-grad party we had with Mom was awesome though. We ate at Grappas. THEIR BEER, I WANT MORE OF IT.


SO THAT'S MY RECAP. The week's just begun, but things are looking up. There's still that tiny me running around in the back of my head, screaming at me to BE FUCKING PRODUCTIVE!, but for serious, I'm already in Sem Break Mode.

I'm supposed to fangirl like the shit over all the stuff I've been watching lately over here, but I think I drained all of it out on Plurk. INSTEAD, here's the list of shit I need to do once school is out:
-Finish checking student papers.
-Play Playstation 2. And PSP games.

\o\ I had a good weekend~~~ Saturday was v. busy. It must be a sin to wake up before one needs to wake up. D: Six in the morning for no reason is just what. Although this did mean that I got to meet Lynffles on time for once. Why is it that when I'm meeting her, I'm always so late? T^T But the rest of our busy day can be found here. CHEATING MUCH? But you have to at least take a look, because it involves BUNNIES. The cutest bunnies ever! SOOO CUTE! ♥ My godchildren~~~ ♥ ♥ ♥ I am very pleased with the results of Saturday~

In the evening, I did get to Trinoma to meet Pammeth and the rest on time. And after a bit, Supi and magnetic_rose and company brought me all the way back to Makati, where it was way easier to get home. o/ A very productive day!

When I got home, I had a new cellphone waiting for me on the bed. It was for free, mind, because I renewed my cellphone plan. Going back to naming it Shimeya, because it is white and pretty and I can't figure it out. 8D IN DUE TIME. For the rest of Sunday, I typesetted doujin for new_treasures, watched an episode of House and an episode of Soul Eater, and pretty much just did chores and lazed around and did my RP account for reborn_biz. \o/

Also, on Soma Bringer: Am pleased at my progress, mostly. My brothers made their own save files, and are a little obsessed with the game. They bug me to use the DS when I'm at home, which I supposed is fine; the youngest brother is a full act ahead of me now, and he's played it less than I have. Clearly, I need to stop leveling up, or maybe he's just really fast.

Must be because all the Kat I had today and last night. Such fun. >w< She was rolling around the bed all the tiemz. Hehehe. I got nomnomed and she tickles my tummy like a buddha. *3* She found a spot in bed two. In fact TWO spots. >w< We also had Web Kare fun. Reason stupidity on the literary end of things has my critic bug biting me in the arse, and I'm currently torn between getting a Multiply or sticking to this journal and just making all my literary article shit public. I... kind of fear for my sanity though. Really. And it's back to the claim by good old Alexander Pope, and I quote:

If ain't awesome, don't eat it.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
If it ain't worth it, don't do it.

...Okay, so he didn't EXACTLY say that, but he DID emphasize on how we really shouldn't waste our time on things that aren't worth critiquing or studying.

Still, if this keeps up, the inner bitch in me will roar. And I'm a little older now. I've got the tools, and I'm pretty sure I know how to use them.

This month has been crazy but awesome for me. Never done so much academic reading in my life. o_o

And something tells me I'll say that again, a few years down the line, when I really AM drowning, literally, under papers.
